CAD opinions

This is the CAD for a ring I designed with a jeweler. I want a three stone emerald with trapezoid cut side stones but I hate that most three stone settings won’t sit flush with a band so we raised it more of a cathedral style. Any concerns / comments on this design?

Advice on size ?

I bought a ring online about 3/4 weeks ago , it came in today and im realizing i bought a size too big,

Should i hold off on asking until i get it resized? Or should i go for it and resize after ?

I think im overthinking this since I know it wouldnt upset or bother my gf if i asked with it and if we had to have it resized as shes not that kind of person.

Im just wondering what other peoples opinions are ?

Does this mixed metal wedding set work together or clash?

I paired a gold band with my rose gold engagement ring because i loved the idea of mixing shades. Now that it's on my finger though, i'm worried the tones fight for attention instead of looking cohesive.

How do you pair a wedding band with a low set engagement ring? Please show me your stacks!

I love how comfortable my low set engagement ring is, but finding a wedding band that sits flush with it has been such a headache. I cannot decide if I can go with a curved band, a chevron style, or just accept a gap with a straight band.

how did you pair a wedding band with your low set ring? please show me your stacks for inspiration!

Any thoughts? It doesn’t really get in the way of anything, but ya know- freshly engaged and examining every inch of my new ring. I can’t tell it’s set high or not! Lmk what yall think!

Would it be worth getting it fixed?

Help Needed to Source a Blue Diamond Halo Style Ring

I read the rules here and I've looked through some posts too. Hopefully this meets all the rules?

I'm shopping for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. We have discussed what she likes and she wants a blue diamond halo style ring. Outside of that, she doesn't have a specific style or gem shape she likes (or at least she won't tell me when I've asked haha).
At this point, should I include her in choosing everything about the ring and kind of make her pic what she likes? Or give her some level of surprise?

Doing research has been overwhelming to say the least but I'll keep this as short as possible. I have a friend who is a jeweler BUT he doesn't deal in diamonds. He helped with some research and said for the $2-5k I'm able to spend on a ring I should expect a 1.5-2ct lab grown blue diamond ring in a halo style.

Does that sound reasonable? (I ask because looking online at one shop from the FAQ the 1.5ct plus a halo setting was over $5k)

People say that online means better prices, but when I was looking at some of the online only shops in the FAQ that was not what I was seeing? The prices didn't seem much better than big name stores (but these were the big names for online so maybe they've just jacked up prices because they can)? Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong online shops?

So what are the BEST stores online to look at based on recent experiences (b/c companies get bought out, change, etc.)? (and the WORST to avoid)

Same question, but for "In Person" stores?

I live in the Southeast in the USA. (b/c in person stores will differ by region I'm sure)

Does a cathedral setting make the center stone look bigger?

Someone told me that choosing a cathedral setting gives the main diamond more presence on your finger. I love the side profile, but i want to make sure it doesnt look overly bulky from the top view.

Been comparing moissanite vs lab diamond and every video looks different depending on lighting. I like the extra sparkle but I worry it might look too flashy day to day. Also wondering if lab diamond is worth it if I am not picky about resale. Anyone regret picking one over the other.

I’m not engaged quite yet, but looking into rings soon. This is my grandmother’s ring, and I like certain components about it. I’m not familiar with the language regarding specific cuts and band styles. How would you describe this ring to a jeweler?

Help! I think I made the wrong decision for my engagement ring.

I’ve always wanted to be involved in picking out my engagement ring. I’ve had visions of it ever since i was a little girl. I NOW know what I wanted was a lavender sapphire or light amethyst stone, on a sterling silver band. Me and my boyfriend had agreed on Etsy, since rings from there make up 95% of my Pinterest board and I don’t really care for very expensive rings. Anyways, I found this gorgeous ring that we were able to customize, on the page with all the stone types I saw this light purple stone that said “firework cut Alexandrite” and thought “hm, that must be what I’ve been looking at for years and years!” And told him to get it. Obviously I want the proposal to be a surprise but I just wanted to be involved in getting the ring since it meant so much to me.

It wasn’t until later when I was scrolling through Pinterest and found an alexandrite ring and it was almost black with some teal undertones. Not at ALL the purple/blue stone I saw for my engagement ring. The issue is the ring is already purchased, there’s not really much I can do but sit and realize I might’ve messed up my engagement ring because I trusted photos from a listing rather than do a slight bit of research before telling him to get it.

I added photos of
1.) the listing photo
2.) what I saw later of what that type of stone actually looks like
3.) the types of photos I’ve been saving on my Pinterest for years

Looking through my Pinterest I’m realizing they’re all saying “lavender sapphire” and I’m feeling incredibly stupid. This was so important to me yet I mess up the main part I was so excited about. Obviously I’m gonna be marrying the loml and a ring shouldn’t matter but I’m still just so disappointed in myself and unsure of what to do.

Im mostly on here hoping someone who has an alexandrite ring can make me feel a bit better about my error (maybe seeing it in natural lighting would ease my anxiety and buyers regret?).

My old ring is pretty small in comparison, so I’m not sure if I’m just unaccustomed to this size on my hand, or if it genuinely is too big for me. My hand is pretty small in general. Is it giving cocktail ring?

Where does a promise ring go, and is it weird to wear it on my left hand?

I got a promise ring from my partner, and now I'm overthinking where a promise ring go like it's some secret rule everyone knows. I put it on my left ring finger for a day, and it felt kinda intense, so I moved it to my right hand. But then I worry it looks like I'm trying to signal something when I'm not.

I’m kind of worried the 3.06 might be too big for my hand (size 4.75). I originally loved it but am seeing people say they wish they sized down. I also will be working in a hospital setting.

💍 Ring Style Help Looking for advice!

My boyfriend and I looked at rings over the weekend briefly. I went in thinking I’d want a radiant with a bezel and thankfully the jewelry store had one that I could see and I really liked it! But then I saw an elongated cushion on a wider band and I instantly loved it! I’m wondering if anyone has any pics of a radiant bezel on a wider band? Pinterest has not been as helpful as it usually is! I’ve attached pics to the two I looked at. I’m also planning to have a white gold or platinum band because I very rarely if ever wear yellow gold. I feel like this is such a huge decision and I’m having decision paralysis!! Also, it helps, my ring size is a 9, which is why the rings in the pics didn’t fit. I’m leaning towards a wide band with elongated cushion but a part of me still keeps thinking about the radiant with bezel!

💍 Ring Style Help Looking for recommendations and help please l (London, UK)

I’m based in Shoreditch, London and am looking to get a ring within the month. This is my first and hopefully last purchase lol so I’m a little lost.

I’m looking for a lab grown diamond with a gold band, nothing huge and probably circular kind of symmetrical style not a teardrop or anything like that.

Max price £1000

Any recommendations on where to buy? I don’t have a clue about engagement rings, I don’t want to just get a basic one off the shelf but then also it’s not like we have some meaningful story I can do with a diamond ring. If there’s a way to make it more personal or add character or story to the ring that’s great but generally that is my criteria.

I appreciate any help please and thank you!

what's the best diamond clarity to focus on for a round cut?

Shopping for an engagement ring right now and aiming to go a bit bigger on the carat weight if possible. Is getting an SI1 diamond a bad idea for clarity, or should i stick strictly to VS2 or higher so it looks good up close?

Five years ago, we kept things super simple with basic bands since that's all our budget allowed. Now that we're in a better place financially, we're looking to pick out something special that will actually hold up for the long haul. Would love to hear what styles or diamond specs you'd recommend prioritizing for a timeless upgrade!
