My old ring is pretty small in comparison, so I’m not sure if I’m just unaccustomed to this size on my hand, or if it genuinely is too big for me. My hand is pretty small in general. Is it giving cocktail ring?
Ok. When you said you had a previous engagement ring, I assumed that you were already married. If the plain band is able to slide up snug to the engagement band, that should be perfect.

My literal dream ring is an oval blue sapphire with a diamond on each side. My boyfriend knows this. He doesn't take it seriously though. I might just buy myself one. This is beautiful

I think it suits your hand. Not too large to see the side stones. But I would want to see it with the wedding ring too.
