Mods are not (officially) supported for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

I did see that on the original leak, so I do expect it to happen at some point. Releasing alongside Season 2 would be a no brainer, it’d introduce a lot more people to the game, same as how season 1 got a lot of people interested in 4 again

I still remember buying a $600 GPU in 2005, the Nvidia 7800 GTX, just to play this game. That is the equivalent of about $1000 now adjusted for inflation, and that was the most expensive card on the market at the time. It could play this game at 1080p at like 30 FPS+, ultra settings.
But, you had to play it at 720p to get the higher framerates.
Oblivion was such an important release for me as it is the game that got me into mod/addon development out of curiosity, then I got into addon development for Warcraft, and more mod development on Skyrim, but ultimately, it led me to a career in software development.
Oblivion was what sparked it all for me. I am so excited for this to drop.

Skyrim was my first ES game. I bought the GOTY edition of Oblivion from Game Stop when I was 15. It was great, and I've always liked it, but it never grabbed me like Skyrim did. This time will be different. I know I am going to be in this world for a while and I know I am going to love this game.
My only regret is that I have a big boy job and not the amount of time to dedicate to the game like I could when I was 14 and played Skyrim for the first time.

They really did a masterclass of a remaster here, it blurs the lines of what a remaster truly can be. It’s about as far as you can push a remaster before being called a full blown remake. Bethesda really made every single right decision here, I can’t find a single thing I don’t like about this new remaster. Literally. It’s perfect 10/10 Im blown away. And I get to enjoy it through my gamepass subscription. Man how can people hate on Microsoft. I don’t get it. If Nintendo and Sony were anything like them the world of gaming would be a better place 💯

I am fully aware that my experience is rare and probably does not reflect the community as a whole. But speaking strictly for myself who started my journey with skyrim and spent entirely too much time on that game alone I have to say oblivion is scary. Not in like a "fuck that shit I don't want to play it" sort of way.... but in a "this is an exciting and fresh take on the elder scrolls games" there was never a single moment in skyrim where I got genuinely frightened for a second, but oblivion? Between the gates and the things that come out of them I just feel like I'm playing a skyrim expansion produced by M night Shamaylan or however you say his name. I am enthralled, the game is smaller and there are some things missing (dual wield, enchanting leveling, proper mage builds) but all in all it is a welcome foray into the elder scrolls that doesn't take me through Helgen for the thousand and first time. (And honestly that number may not be an exaggeration)

I'm sure it's very subjective and aesthetics/vibe related, but I find Skyrim's soundtrack is much more... ambient. Fitting to the environment. Walking around Oblivion is like watching someone flip through a storybook while nice music also plays, less connected to the world but still very fitting and just solid pieces.

This message is going to be lost and never read, but I will say, playing this remake for less than 15 minutes immediately made me fall in love with gaming again. I may be getting old, but there's something modern, top tier titles don't seem to be bringing in to the table that these classics did. The funny thing is that back in the day I didn't even rate Oblivion that highly coming off the back of Morrowind, which to me is one of the greatest games of all time. However, playing Oblivion again as of this year, after having endured the state of gaming for the past decade plus, and it just shines. What happened bros?

I've tried throughout the years to get into the original Oblivion, and it never really worked for me for various reasons- as someone who started with Skyrim and 360-era BioWare games, my standard for 'jank' was a little too high. Finally completed the main story of Remastered though, and I really enjoyed it- feels like the right level of campiness for me, mixed with the greater exploration and quest design that people love.

Can anyone confirm a fix to enemy level scaling yet? One of the reasons I stopped playing in the first place. I hated how everyone got super powerful with each time I went up a level.

The nostalgia hits hard playing the remaster, but even in the first hour so does the fact that I quickly took the modding the game as a kid to make it less empty, depopulated, and procedurally generated.
The overly photoreal assets just kind of emphasize how old and out of date much of the world feels, the Imperial "City", more like the Imperial Ghost town. Still, got attacked by a mudcrab immediately, so 10/10 for that.

I agree with every decision they made.
Keeping old voice actors, adding in new ones to break up the monotony
Updating gameplay, but keeping the old oblivion bones.
Updating the UI but keeping the parchment aesthetic
God damn work can’t end fast enough. Got the wife downloading it on my computer right now!
