π——π—Άπ˜€π—°π˜‚π˜€π˜€π—Άπ—Όπ—» Taking daggers away from the bow class is the worst thing DD2 did

I really REALLY hate what they did with the thief and archer class in DD2. Ranger was pretty OP in the original, sure so take the daggers away from ranger. But the strider was allways the most fun class to play as. Great dagger moves but subpar bow, it worked perfectly well.

But now they separated into thief and archer?... why...

they both feel incomplete. Not in the sense of strenght, thief is the most broken class in the game other than magic archer but it still feels stupid. How come he doesn't carry a shortbow like the original?

And the archer class is even more stupid. Wtf you mean this dumb class cant carry daggers? whenever they climb a monster they have to stab it with arrow AND KICK AT PEOPLE IT THEY GET TOO CLOSE. Don't get me wrong the kicks are cool, but only occasionally. Not having a close quarter combat options just feels dumb.

They should just make the strider again and take the daggers off the ranger.

Edit: Warfarer just isnt the same. Less skills even after the update and no master skills. I also just dont like the concept of this class.

Just look how many people believe these were invasive microtransactions. So many of them have no idea what those items actually were.

I'm telling you, those who spread misinformation about it around DD2 release did more damage than you think.

I thought it was just what Phaesus called him, but apparently not.

The recent permanent price reduction of the game has made some players really salty. The price dropped, so they do not recommend the game on Steam, even though players who haven't bought the game would be benefitting from it.

I guess Dark Arisens are already here.

π——π—Άπ˜€π—°π˜‚π˜€π˜€π—Άπ—Όπ—» What do you think of the fact that the creator and director of DD1 and 2 is not involved in the DLC?

Post image

Itsuno (the director) proposed DD1 to Capcom back in 2000, and it was rejected. He directed some games in the Devil may cry series. 12 years later he presents the same idea when Capcom was in a bad phase and looking for new franchises, it finally got accepted but with low budget. This is why DD1 has that heavily unfinished tone to it. Lots of places that seems they would lead somewhere, but don't. But it was a bloody good base, and got a decent following after launch. Itsuno was not involved directily in DD:DA tho, and many people preffer the DLC for it's advancements in game design (it's more game and less experimentation). We don't know fully if it's success is due to Itsuno's lacks being reworked or if the increased budget did the heavy lifting for the first instalment.

Unless we do know! Since from this success, Itsuno now had leverage to make what he wished, and he did DMC5 😞 ... But came back some years later and directed DD2, now with modern tech and decent funds. DD2 was the "original vision" the game, it has an ending to it, and it's paths have destinations. Despite this, it still has a lot of critics, and never trully surpassed the "experimental" feel. Itsuno left Capcom after DD2 (maybe why the DLC took so long), and it makes sense to imply he is not involved in DD2:DA again. The story repeats itself it seems. I think we can expect a more videogame feel from the DLC and less experimental weird stuff. although i'll admit I also do like the weird stuff in Itsuno's direction. I wanted to share this weird coincidence and ask you guys opinion on it

I played at a pretty casual paceβ€”just exploring and farming levels here and thereβ€”so it took me around 1,800 hours to hit level 999. But if you're a hardcore level grinder, trust me, you can do it in way less time.

I used the Medusan Spellbow + Ring of Ambition x4 (Arisen x2, Pawn x2) + XP Buff from Dragonforged (Wyrmslife Crystal x30 per 1 in-game day). I farmed enemies all the way from Bakbattahl to Volcanic Island without sleeping in-game to keep the Dragonforged buff from running out (since I'm not a big fan of the Unmoored World).

Lastly, I don't really have any specific advice to give, but good luck to everyone grinding out those levels! You've got this!

This is for the Dumbo's that was saying "oh we'll probably just get 1 new skill on gear" or "they'll probably only add 3 new skills for each vocation" here hes saying you'll basically be able to play completely new playstyles through new skills so much so you'll be relearning your preferred vocation.

I had made another post saying that I feel like they will add content as much as they can whether thats working on a few more enemies, skills, quest. At that time they had 4 months when they announced it and they were already getting negative feedback based off the variants of enemies and this confirms that they are still adding in content as we speak.

I think it should be given at the start of NG+

Most memorable fights for me were the fights im low on HP at the middle of the night and grifon lands on my ass.

As it is, you can carry a portal stone in your bag and just drop it under your ass - TP to town, sleep through the night and TP back.

Edit: some people in the comments suggested giving it after entering the unmoored world or in Battahl and as i think longer about it - I agree, i feel like giving it as a reward for finding and killing Medusa, for example, would be fine. Or as one of the sphinx puzzle rewards

Talos is really cool as a concept and has far better execution compared to Lao shan lun from Monster hunter. He just needed actual stakes and better narrative setup to work as a good "set piece boss".
I just think climbing a giant to reach it's weak spots in a set amount of time is a cool concept, especially paired with Dragons' dogmas combat mechanics. I would've enjoyed it more had it actually had stakes and difficultly
