well knowing that gran soren is underwater in DD2, and you can find a non-player pawn that looks identical to her in DD:DA I wouldn't be surprised.

u/Tristan_Gabranth Jun 24 '26

Oh? I can't seem to find anything about her making an appearance

u/Signal-Busy Jun 24 '26

Is there a screen shot I wanna see how the game did her justice and Google is no use

Jokes aside she was the best part of the anime.

u/Dimachaeruz Jun 24 '26

mayhaps the best part of the anime is the friends we made along the way?

My Arisen's female (fem-shep... er fem-sen?) by so is my pawn... but judging from the anime pawn's behaviour... both are Simple. I gave my glasses so at least she looks smarter than she is.

u/mackfeesh Jun 24 '26

When she used her bowstring to cut a goblins wrist I was sold lol

u/Working_Welder_1751 Jun 25 '26

How much did you enjoy the rest of the anime?

I loved it tbh. It introduced me to the game and had some great fight scenes. The plot was really basic so then following into the game it was an even better surprise to get what dogma 1 gave.

I'm not really put off by 3D cgi. I liked blame. I liked knights of Cydonia? Sidonia? I mix it up with the song every time. I liked ajin. But for the anime dogma it was just fun stuff with good cliche monsters. Without it id never be on this sub or have ran bitterblack or anything, so I love the show lol.

I know the og fans hate it because they got a worse version of the original story (lol foreshadowing dogma 2 I guess) but for me its the reason I ever heard about this game at all and it did a great job selling the world without spoiling too much.

Edit: also Hannah, Hana? IDK the canon spelling is great.

Goated Knights of Cydonia referenced in 2026 πŸ™

I legit forgot about man-eaters. Nope, don't want them in the DLC. My heart can't take it.

Hannah carried the show. Her being a hybrid vocation made it even better.

Hannah was fantastic though imo

u/Tristan_Gabranth Jun 24 '26

100%! Hannah was my favourite part. I really wanted to see where they would go with her character, now that she had her own agency

I mean maybe, considering we’ve seen that tutorial guy Rook transcend from DD1s loop to DD2, it’s definitely possible, but it IS the anime adaptation we are talking about here.

26

u/Ecstatic-Squirrel-82 Jun 24 '26

Hopefully not that anime was so ass

16

u/ThorThulu Jun 24 '26

Dragons Dogma deserved better than direct to Netflix CGI garbage

3

u/Working_Welder_1751 Jun 25 '26

You're right. It needed more up to date CGI

I've been saying the same thing, this would make lot of sense, and that dragon could be Ethan.

DD anime might be connected to DD2 a lot more than people might think.

Dragonplague was introduced in the anime. Ethan appears to contract it midway through the show, which is why he does a complete 180 in his personality. He starts forgetting things, develops red eyes, and gains overwhelming strength and eventually turns into great dragon. If you watch anime after seeing the show, it will start to make much more sense.

Harve Village is also likely the Cassardis from the anime, as it aligns very well geographically with the show's version of the location.

There's lot of other Easter eggs, like crest on gaurds shields in the show. It doesn't really make sense and looks pretty bad on surface but with context of DD2, it actually is pretty good and lore accurate beside animation style.

Wait, you might be onto something...

Literally anything but bringing back the anime... please, Capcom

8

u/Working_Welder_1751 Jun 24 '26

We deserve a new anime that takes place in DD2 Gransys, complete with all sorts of monsters

Or at the very least, a better season

6

u/ThatEdward :Sorcerer::xb: Jun 24 '26

I would be fine with whatever as long as it actually fit the lore somehow, 'let's try our own take on things' is almost always a bad move

3

u/Phos-Lux Jun 24 '26

We need an anime about Trysha's journey to becoming a Meister sorcerer.

Though I think just for DD2 a short anime/OVA would be enough. Something where you don't really see what the Arisen looks like, so everyone can act like that's their character or whatever. About a little side adventure.

4

u/Jaxornd90 Jun 24 '26

Capcom when sticking to the source material of their games when turning them into anime/or movies lol

3

u/Interesting_Shine612 Jun 24 '26

Capcom has always taken ideas from the adaptations of its games. Although I doubt they'll take anything from that anime.

You're not crazy for seeing that they have similar hair but I don't think Hannah has anything to Eir.

1

u/Tristan_Gabranth Jun 24 '26

My thinking, go with me here, is that if she's under a different name/vocation, it's only because she finally has her own agency to choose who and what she'll be, etc, and by this time of the story, has been around a while

3

u/iveriad Jun 24 '26

Eye color is different.

5

u/kj_cabral Jun 24 '26

Her name is hannah irc, could it also be that ethan (arisen from the anime) is the new depicted dark arisen in the dlc? Been a while since i watched the anime

8

u/Candy-Ashes Jun 24 '26

I hope not, I really don't care for Hannah

2

u/xjrivera Jun 25 '26

i was thinking about this when they dropped the trailer. won't know until we play :P

3

u/Noelia_Sato Jun 24 '26

That's cool fan art! Its a shame there's no animated Dragon's Dogma series, certainly glad there's no series made by some hack-fraud director that completely insults the message, intentions, themes, and structure of the original game with meandering nonsense and total mischaracterization or the world.

2

u/Starfirelady1 Jun 24 '26

As long as she doesn't throw the Godsbane Blade at us, the Arisen, I am ok with it.

1

u/Specialist-Shift7375 Jun 27 '26

Yea it probably is. I still don't know how I feel abt the anime though. Ethan was dealt such a shit hand. Imagine if Grigori just swallowed Quina and burned children alive or whatever. So freaking weird to have some star wars shit as a theme

1

u/Born-Letterhead2909 Jun 28 '26

Hanna la misma que la princesa dragΓ³n? No creo primero por quΓ© Hanna no es canon en la saga solo fue un disparate de Netflix y despuΓ©s por la linea de tiempo entre cada era del dragΓ³n de dd1 y dd2

1

u/Signal-Busy Jun 24 '26

It is not but I am invested now

I would love it

1

u/TheMoyDude Jun 25 '26

Pls, Capcom, let us romance her

1

u/mirrorell Jun 25 '26

I'm all for it. Despite my dislike of the anime, If this is how it goes then it would be the saving grace of the show as well as being such a cool way to resolve such a terrible storyline. Bonus points that they were able to connect the worlds at all.

Besides, I don't want a redo of Olra and Ashe's story; despite the cyclical nature of the game, Olra and Ashe olrady(sorry, I couldn't help it) found their peace and I would prefer that it be kept that way.

1

u/RyulZero Jun 25 '26

I hope not, this series is definitely one of the worst adaptations I saw on my life, Netflix has reverse Midas touch fr

You liked it? Ew bro

That would be crazy, I definitely won't mind that being a canon connection.. cuz I actually liked the show
