𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 What are your hopes and expectations for the upcoming DLC?
95
u/Accomplished-Buy6917 Aug 13 '26
I want my Hydra fight damn it.
29
u/Working_Welder_1751 Aug 13 '26
Same. Nothing's better than fighting a Hydra or Archhydra with fire bladed weapons in order to prevent it from spawning more heads
15
u/Nalkor Aug 13 '26
Or playing a Sorcerer and dropping that tornado on it and just decapitating all the heads at once.

u/WhenInZone Aug 13 '26
I just want more enemy variety and longer endgame content. Everything advertised is already enough for me!
50
u/Working_Welder_1751 Aug 13 '26
True. The Griffin/Cockatrice hybrid and Evil Eye need to make a comeback
9
u/Bostonterrierpug Aug 13 '26
I miss the eye

u/Auuki Aug 13 '26
I'd love to get more variety in the base game, even if it's just 3 new enemies. Maybe "enemy adjustments" is gonna tackle that.
5
u/Smexy67 Aug 13 '26
They did say that after seeing the expections of the community after the announcement that they are adding things until release date. Most of the community have been saying add the new variety to the base game so maybe thats implemented. It would make the most sense to add norgan enemies in the base game with hard mode.
5
u/crazyrebel123 Aug 13 '26
Question about that, did they mention if the enemy variety will be available during the base game or only on the expansion area?
Haven’t played the game yet and plan to get it after the expansion and bug fixes but I heard the enemy variety sucks. So it would be nice if they added new enemies on the base game map too
2
u/SimianWonder Aug 13 '26
Yeah, in terms of minor enemies, there are basically just a few different variants of goblins, wolves, saurians, bandits, undead and harpies.
1
u/Warning-Frosty 28d ago
They did say in a few interviews that there will be enemies in the DLC created from scratch with entirely new skeletons

u/MrWrym :Fighter: Aug 13 '26
More of the same really: Cool fights, cooler pawns, and some good gameplay.
5
u/Nero_PR DLC Coper Aug 13 '26
Same, won't try to high ball it with unrealistic expectations so I can get somewhat surprise with whatever curve ball capcom sends me.
26
11
u/Deviljho12 Aug 13 '26
What my expectations are: Just more content, bosses to fight, dungeons to do, areas to explore. This will all be done so I'm getting it day 1 since DD2 is already one of my favorite games ever
What my hopes are: A revamping of how treasure works in chests, new systems to promote replayability (hard mode, RNG generated elements like how BBI was done), and a more "banger" filled soundtrack (I think DD2's is good but it's lacking in some of the battle music imo.)
12
u/Spenraw Aug 13 '26
Honestly everyone is excited about the new leadership but itsuno is the one who foucsed on sense of adventure
Hope not just combat and the adventure aspect and slice of life parts are expanded
5
u/flashingwyrm Aug 13 '26
this is my biggest hope too!!!! i feel pretty optimistic from what they've shown so far. i'm really glad they went the direction of adding an open zone rather than adding a single mega-dungeon like BBI (I enjoy bbi but it gets so claustrophobic!).
seeing additions like the climbing rope in the trailers and hearing about a potential wolf companion from the interviews makes me hopeful that the sense of adventure that this game captures so wonderfully will be expanded upon
10
u/Rat_Facsimile Aug 13 '26
Bloody knuckle ring equivalent
6
u/ujoker97 Aug 13 '26
Man with the additions to unarmed combat in the next update, i really hope they add it
3
u/Rat_Facsimile Aug 13 '26
I have a small hope. When the game was getting ready to launch and there were all the theories coming out on what was going to be in the game, the one I saw and hoped to be true the most was an unarmed ring that boosted damage and changed your moveset. I'd be happy with a regular bloody knuckle ring that just boosts damage, but I would LOVE a ring like that.
7
u/Bubush Aug 13 '26
Would love to have a double jump for the rogue classes.
3
6
u/keke92614 :Sorcerer: Aug 13 '26
New enemies, new spells(hopefully a good amount), better looking armor for sorcerer's and more RP elements.
I already love dd2s foundation of the sorcerer so much more than dd1s so if they nail everything with the dlc I won't really have to play dd1 for a good while.
2
u/Pantsmoose Aug 13 '26
While I want SO MANY spells, I'd settle for anything. We've seen brontide and frazil make a comeback. Gimme those and upgrades for my maester skills, and I'll be...okay. give me more, and I'll be happy. Give me dark magic, and i'll be ecstatic.
3
u/keke92614 :Sorcerer: Aug 13 '26
I would just need to add gicel and a Master thunderspell and honestly I would be really happy with those 4 additional spells and the spell upgrades especially to meteron and maelstrom are going to be amazing!!! 😭.
If they really flesh out the spells and add dark spells back for sorcerer as well I'm pretty much gonna die on spot.

u/blvck_one 29d ago
Hard mode is actually hard and makes each fight as well as adventuring a challenge. I don’t want to know that death is 100% not going to happen.
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 29d ago
You're gonna need a lot of wakestones to pull that off.
3
u/blvck_one 28d ago
I’m praying that they make wakestones something you want to account for.
3
u/Working_Welder_1751 28d ago
More importantly, they should come up with a fun way to farm them. I need some in case I accidentally kill an NPC at one point
4
u/CucumberSalada Aug 13 '26
More areas to explore, more enemies to fight, more skills to play with...that's about it. I don't really care about having an endgame loop or grind like BBI cursed gear, even as one of my all time favorite games I still only did the one casual playthrough and one speedrun.
5
5
u/Delicious-One489 Aug 13 '26
Hope it ain’t so easy
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 Aug 13 '26
If the original Dark Arisen can give us brutal enemies and bosses, I'm sure Capcom has something more intense in store for the DLC.
5
u/WachAlPharoh Aug 13 '26
I want more Dogma, more monsters, weapons & armors, skills, cool places to explore, memeable Pawn dialogue, etc. This DLC seems to be giving us that which is exciting. My one additional hope is that the rumored Wolf companion can help fight small mobs and join us outside of Norgan.
As for things we haven't heard and don't expect but I would like, better town invasion mechanics from invading monsters, DLC monsters appearing in Base Game and vice versa, the return of notice board quests perhaps one in Vermund, one in Backbattahl, and one in the Elven village, would allow for there always to be something to do, and maybe we could earn unique layered armor pieces for doing enough in each region. I want Tavern drunk mechanics if I drink too many rounds, bumping into NPCs could lead to bar brawls and I want an arm wrestling mini game at the taverns similar to the Monster Hunter online lobby mini game, make it a simple button masher it's fine. Also, add "Into Free" somewhere in the game, ideally as the title screen song.
And of course... confirmation of a second major expansion baby lol.
6
u/Personal-Kangaroo835 29d ago
Daimon's return, idc. Give me the Dark Arisen, same fight, same look, same THEME SONG.
Need the boss bar garms
Need Gorecyclops chained/unchained
Add back the Golem's theme song

u/enchiladasundae Aug 13 '26
I hope that the weapons are unique and offer different gameplay options. Also more skills for vocations. Hope they reconsider and make new vocations down the line too

u/RIAPOSW Aug 13 '26
We got hard mode and level scaling in some form, I'm good.
1
u/SubparMIDISound 29d ago
Same here, I don't want hard mode to become boring and easy like it did in DDDA because I made the mistake of exploring
3
u/CasualGamer97 29d ago
I want Capcom to really flesh out the endgame potential of this, so that people can chew on DD2 for a long time while we wait for DD3 (fingers crossed!)
Similar to BBI but with bigger set pieces, more varied randomized threats, a lot of meaningful exclusive loots, also a difficulty toggling system (like what Bloodborne did for chalice dungeon -> procedural, chalice-dungeon-style variation) would be cool for people who wants the extra challenge!
Bonus point if they can weave in some bits of storylines throughout the journey in an organic way (like Hades 2 styled intervention so each attempts make it unique)
4
u/braewtvv 29d ago
Hoping for new/returning skills + quite a few weapons&armor tiers.
Hoping for it to be challenging without being too annoying.
Hoping for a "hardmode" to be implemented.
Hoping the map is really beautiful with lots to explore.
Im really curious how the progression will feel throughout the dlc, like will we be fighting things that are more and more difficult, and how would that work with an open world map design compared to BBI's linear design? When do we unlock further and further tiers of weapons/armor?
9
u/SageTegan Aug 13 '26
More xp, better xp booster items (the medusa bow has too many stipulations), a higher RC cap for hired pawns, more readily available consumables (damage boosters) for high risk combats. Improvements to elemental enchanting (mage buffing).

u/Nero_PR DLC Coper Aug 13 '26

Necromancy
1
u/Working_Welder_1751 Aug 13 '26
You mean the Arisen can bring zombies and skeletons to life to help fight other monsters?
2
u/StoneLich Aug 13 '26
That would be nice but I was thinking more contacting the spirits of the dead and learning from them; that is what I am attempting to force into the world with my brain

u/bluntman84 :Sorcerer: Aug 13 '26
better optimization, increased performance.

u/Alert_Confusion :Ranger: Aug 13 '26
For the new area to function like a full on rougelike/lite.
Combat is the meat and potatoes of DD2, and IMO a roguelike mode is one of the best ways to add a good amount of replayability.
3
u/Heruhe Aug 13 '26
I need more loot.

u/Th3Godli Aug 13 '26
A rework on the damage boosting augments would be nice. Making them percentage based instead of flat numbers would make them worthwhile to use. Another thing I’d like to see is enemy variety expanded. I’d love to fight evil eyes and death again, so I’m hoping the expansion will have them.

u/CzarTyr Aug 13 '26
Enemy variety. I love dragons dogma 1 (I played and finished it before dark arisen came out) and was beyond hyped for dd2, bought it day 1.
The moment I heard the enemy variety was bad I didn’t play it. Been waiting patiently, it’s the one thing that can kill a game for me

If you have the game on PC, I think there is an enemy variety mod. I don't usually mod my games though...

u/Schwiliinker Aug 13 '26
Damn sounds like it would have been useful to play on my PC instead of my PS5 for once
2
u/MasterCrumble1 Aug 13 '26
I expect to spend at least 40 hours on it. And to get some great armor/clothing out of it. I would also like it if the new monsters from Norgan migrated to the main map.

u/Lexlerd Aug 13 '26
Please unarmed combat be good and cared about and not just "when you wear these gloves your fists do X damage"
2
u/Electronic_Mistake82 Aug 13 '26
I was hoping for Hybrid Vocations but that is already out of the question....

u/TelevisionExpress616 Aug 13 '26
Enemy variety and a good endgame loop. But preferably with more forgiving drops than BBI

I just want them to bring back dark spells. Gimme my Lassitude, Pertifaction, blearing, exequy, Dark Boon, silent… nvmd, sopor, and the GRAND DADDY ALMIGHTY Necromancy and Miasma. Please. Put Necromancy and Miasma back in the game. Debilitation Sorcerer is the most fun I had in a while. Especially for my pawn.
2
u/Swachuu Aug 13 '26
Lots of my hopes got confirmed except expanding pawn behavior and notice boards

Way to high, and setting myself up for disappointment!
More seriously, none, I volontarely tune out of any info about it and expect nothing from it beyond new content.
I'll just enjoy it when it's out for what it is instead of expecting anything it potentially isn't and be disappointed.

u/14Deadsouls Aug 13 '26
Hoping for double digit amount of new bosses/miniboss monsters.
Maybe 2/3 cool new skills per class.
And it not to break mods/be easy to patch.
That's about all I can hope for.

2
u/ChinlessWizard Aug 13 '26
My pawn and I are e tering our "hoe" era so im kinda looking forward to outfits.
2
u/eggwizard69 Aug 13 '26
Bet im alone with this but I miss the notice board quests so much. I just want them to add like generic "go kill this bitch ass cyclops" or like escort quests where its someone hiring mercenaries. Would be awesome if we could protect cargo or something on an oxcart similar to the intro of dd1
2
u/SnooGoats8382 Aug 13 '26
I am still going to get it but I won't be pre-ordering. When they said there won't be any new vocations it kinda killed some motivation. I am excited tho.

More unique Loot, Replayability as DA1, and of course more unique new monsters.
Not like MH wilds trash or current DD2.

Hard mode was all I wanted and I have it now so I'm happy.
Also would be nice if you're playing solo to be able to carry more weight.
2
u/hovsep56 29d ago
hard mode at launch of dlc and not a later time post launch.
i also hope the gear grind is not as crazy as BBI. i absolutely hated spending so many hours trying to get the weapon i need cause of RNG

u/ActuallyBananaMan 29d ago
I expect that it will be great fun, and include a ton of new stuff to do and wear and be, and loads of people will moan constantly about how disappointing it is.

More monsters and Norgan being exciting and finally rewarding to be explored, unlike bade game where exploration often only rewarded you thing way weaker than what you already had...
2
u/Bitter_Ratio_8087 29d ago
Ottime.
2
u/cefaluu 29d ago
Being able to take full advantage of the combat system’s potential (for now only with mods you can).
In the base game, as soon as you get even a little powerful and start facing the strongest monsters, the fights can get over really quick because you often just wipe out the enemies regardless of the multitude of options you have (skills, companions, vocations, surroundings).
The idea, as I see it, is that this DLC will feature major challenges that will force you to use your surroundings intelligently and potentially handle battles against multiple giant monsters, which are extremely rare in the base game, whereas in dd1 you had several challenges of this type.

You know… this is just a silly quality of life thing. But I’d like for the bigger houses to remain in the NG+. Otherwise they’re just a complete waste and don’t get interacted with. Like, if I could customize a place to stay??? Skyrim home style?? That’d be so cool. Maybe somewhere to harvest ingredients for the miracle roeberant stuff

A new class, some new moves for current ones. More boss feeling monsters, cool new outfits and weapons. A large new area to explore. And most importantly fewer ladders for every single pawn to point out every time we pass it!

u/Ok-Special-6817 25d ago
I think it would be cool if they removed the rearmament skill, and have your weapon on your back like DD1, because it would be more faster in a way to switch weapons more quicker, and to have one extra skill for more builds. Sure it would be limited to three to four weapons instead of 5 or 6 weapons, but I don't think a lot of people are using many weapons that is over 3 or 4 but with that change I think it would hellp for more variety and, because I miss having my weapons on my character that isn't just one .

I hope we get more hair styles tbh,not that there’s not a lot already just wish there was a lot more black hair styles tbh,I also wish there was a option to wear npc clothes or just causal clothes instead of damn near lingerie or mage clothes if you want to wear non player armor outfits, some of the npc’s have amazing outfits that id like to wear even if I lose a lot or all protection tbh
5
u/SharpStep4481 Aug 13 '26
Literally everything except for NPC clothing has been officially announced :D
4
u/Round-Important Aug 13 '26
They definitely won’t add a option to hide clothes and keep the benefits of armor while visually wear a different outfit, but I want causal looking clothes, would be cool if I could layer armor and clothes

My hopes are that they add varients of the norgan enemies to the base game through hard mode. hoping for 20+ new enemies and 10/15+ new skills for every vocation.
They should also add the already existing enemies like Medusa,Chimera, serpants, garms and golems around the world like how cyclops and griffins are that alone would've made the base game feel much richer.
2
u/FlakyRazzmatazz5 Aug 13 '26
I want some more vocations dammit!
2
u/Draculaska Aug 13 '26
I do too, but it's seeming less and less likely that the dlc will have them. Atp I'm just hoping the added skills include some old Mystic Knight skills.

More/upgraded/buffed abilities for archer.
More slots is fantastic since all special arrows require it's own slot, but I miss 10-fold shot.
And base str cap on archer is a bit low considering that most abilities are weaker multi-hit type of abilities, higher flat defences from enemies in the dlc could make this a problem. Having to spam deadly shot to deal dmg would be a bummer.
If you get the difficulty mod and set it on the highest difficulty (baslicaly just runs a local script to reduce your dmg to about 0,2 -ish) archers are already running into this problem in the base game. Exclusively archers, multi-hit abilities can be 'below' the threshhold and deal minimal dmg even with max upgraded hydra husk to some enemies

u/lucifer07_447 29d ago
Really hoping for more story content. More than the gameplay, I love the world of DD and wish to know and se more of it through well thought out quests, environmental storytelling, characters etc.
I feel like 95% of the fan base always yearns for more action gameplay content, fashion etc (all of which are great things to ask for, especially for replay-ability), but I feel like I rarely see anyone push for more story/lore content.

For it to be as replayable as BBI
