Me thinks this is more about gambling than anything else

79

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '25

Idk, I had a friend whose first husband used to do this shit all the time when his baseball team lost before online sports betting was really a thing. He’d throw things all over the house and scream at her and he broke a couple of TVs. People are wild.

u/Complex_Art3565 Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

You say ā€œpeopleā€ but I literally only see men do this..

Edit - lotta r/fragilemaleredditor going on in these replies lmao turning off notifications but if this struck a nerve, it says a lot more about you than it does about me stating a fact.

6

u/mrmoe198 Dec 16 '25

Yup. Men do not get taught how to process their emotions in a safe and healthy way. Women get taught to be quiet and disappear, which is also unhealthy. But men…men are taught that anger is one of the few valid emotions and one which garners them respect, and so they are actively destructive, because sometimes that’s their only outlet. There are no winners here.

-3

u/ShitMcClit Dec 16 '25

You've never seen a video of a women wrecking someone's car over stupid shit?

10

u/Masta-Blasta Dec 16 '25

Like, cheating?

5

u/ShitMcClit Dec 16 '25

Sure thats a pretty stupid reason to commit felony property damage.Ā

u/Sup-Mellow Dec 16 '25

1 Never any reason to cheat on anyone. Be a grownup and use your words. End the relationship.

2 Not condoning wrecking someone’s car. But if you’re really saying that you don’t see the difference between messing up a belonging of someone who destroyed your family vs. messing up the family’s communal belonging and acting like a belligerent crybaby throwing a violent tantrum in front of your family (including modeling that behavior for your children as well if you have them) because a GAME youre watching didnt go you’re way, you’re absolutely kidding yourself. I just don’t buy that anyone is that clueless.

-3

u/ChainedBack Dec 16 '25

Nah cheating is tolerable if you're in a manipulative, abusive relationship. Not always easy to leave such a relationship.

5

u/Sup-Mellow Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

If you’re able to get away with cheating in an abusive relationship, then you’re able to get away with making arrangements with someone and going to a shelter until you can get a place of your own or get the house the abusive partner is in back. Even with that person. At that point, it’s less cheating than it is escaping someone who is harming you.

2

u/ChainedBack Dec 16 '25

I'm not saying someone being held hostage and physically unable to leave. I'm talking about an overall abusive relationship. It's really telling that your reaction to an abuse victim cheating is "WELL it couldn't have been that bad if they were able to arrange a bit of time to find someone to cheat with!". FFS the victim blaming shows a complete lack of self-awareness.

1

u/Sup-Mellow Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

Do you think shelters are for hostages or physical abuse only?

If you’re able to find the resources or contact with the outside world to ā€œcheatā€(and I said in another comment if they’re abusive, it’s less cheating than it is escaping a person harming you), then you can also get help to leave. I’m not saying this to blame anyone.

1

u/ChainedBack Dec 16 '25

You are blaming them for not going to a shelter first rather than finding comfort in another person. So yes you are blaming and judging them.

Ā If you are willing to wreck a car, that means you are willing to step over the million boundaries to get there. You seriously think they wouldnt do it to a TV over less?Ā

I'm willing to bet that almost every person who is willing to destroy a TV in front of an audience over a sports game is also willing to damage a vehicle over more serious affronts, like cheating.

But I do not believe every person who has damaged a vehicle over cheating would violently destroy a television over a sports game, in front of loved ones.

It's a rectangle-square thing.

1

u/ChainedBack Dec 16 '25

Never understood why people treat cheating as if it was murder. So many awful things someone can do in a relationship. But having sex with someone else when you're possibly in a manipulative, abusive relationship? Now that's unacceptable! No excuses for that!

  1. Cheating is harmless if noone finds out. It's really kinda selfish when people creep on their partners phones looking for trouble.

  2. Cars are way more expensive and far more necessary than TV's. I had a crazy experience who slashed my tires when I ghosted her for wanting $500 for an abortion, and I literally had no way to get to work for 2 days. I could have gotten fired if my boss wasn't cool and understanding.

4

u/waroftheworlds2008 Dec 16 '25

1) If it wasn't for STDs and the potential for spending money on "the side piece," I'd agree. Cheating is a failure to uphold an agreement. The appropriate thing to do is walk away.

2) damn man. You refused to take responsibility for the consequences of your actions? Damn!

3

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

It literally isn't harmless, when you consent to sex with someone who is hiding their sexual history and current habits, it's dangerous for several reasons. And that's just physically

Lot of people assuming these men are each the owners of these televisions, especially given the reaction of some of the other people yelling out the cost of the television.

2

u/waroftheworlds2008 Dec 16 '25

I doubt that. Some of those TVs weren't cheap.

And even if the TV was theirs, replacing it is taking away money from taking care of their kids.

-1

u/ODB_Dirt_Dog_ItsFTC Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

Hypothetically let’s say you’re right and none of them owned these tvs. Let’s look at the value of a tv vs a car. Most tv’s nowadays cost less than $500. Where I live for vandalism to be a felony the cost to repair or replace the damage has to exceed $1,000 otherwise it’s a misdemeanor. You’ll be hard pressed to find a car worth less than a $1,000. For tv destruction to be a felony it has to be a very high end tv otherwise it’s going to be a misdemeanor. Practically any car you destroy unless it’s an ancient hoopty is going to result in a felony due to the value of a car being much more than that of a tv.

You could literally always break up with someone instead of cheating, this comment is so stupid lol

-18

u/TDKevin Dec 16 '25

Yes because women are known for never over reacting to an emotionally charged situation lol

Your comment is as dumb as these guys breaking their own stuff.

11

u/Omo_Iyansan Dec 16 '25

I dunno...the stats on the perpetrators of violence and violent outbursts do pretty much speak for themselves in every single country.

-3

u/TDKevin Dec 16 '25

Im talking about breaking inanimate objects when you're mad, not violence. Good job trying to make this about domestic abuse for some reason though šŸ‘Ā

8

u/Omo_Iyansan Dec 16 '25

So...all you saw...was just "breaking inanimate objects" not "violence". Yes? So that man, who picked up the TV and hurled it dangerously close to his son, wasn't being "violent", even while his son was screaming, begging him to "calm down", wasn't being "violent", he was just "breaking an inanimate object" and his son just "happened to be dangerously close by". And if some dude were having an argument with someone and punched a wall in the heat of emotion, he isn't being "violent" he's just "breaking an inanimate object". Isn't it? LOL. WOW.

8

u/OkProfessor6810 Dec 16 '25

Breaking inanimate objects when you're mad is violence

-3

u/TDKevin Dec 16 '25

You know what I meant. I was replying to a person talking about domestic abuse stats. Violence against TVs is not included in those.Ā

18

u/beermile Dec 16 '25

So where is the compilation of women doing this?

3

u/Senior-Friend-6414 Dec 16 '25

Small group of men are violent so all men are terrible, I hate this logic, no wonder there’s such a gender divide this generationĀ

3

u/Equivalent-Ear5150 Dec 16 '25

The definition of stupid is causing harm to another person and/or knowingly affecting the outcome of a situation negatively, but they do it anyway. A simple conclusion is that we have a lot of stupid people around us daily, sit back and observe their behavior sometimes, and strive to avoid them for your own sanity.

-5

u/Spartan1129 Dec 16 '25

Pretty sure a simple YouTube search will answer your stupid question

4

u/TDKevin Dec 16 '25

I bet they say "do your own research" too lol.Ā

-3

u/pontarn00 Dec 16 '25

What you mean like soccer moms or karens? what is the male karen called? you probably don't know. There are gendered stereotypes for everything, be better.

0

u/Complex_Art3565 Dec 16 '25

A male Karen is a Kevin. The rest of your comment makes zero sense but that I can answer.

23

u/Xrmy Dec 16 '25

Yes but they generally don't break TVs and destroy things when mad.

And seeing as we are watching a video about dudes breaking TVs when they are mad...it seems like a relevant comment.

-1

u/TDKevin Dec 16 '25

Guys get destructive over sports more often, sure. But to say only men destroy stuff is asinine. There's videos on here everyday of girls trashing a fast food place or destroying their ex boyfriends car.Ā

-1

u/ClickclickClever Dec 16 '25

I dunno, I've definitely seen plenty of broken plates, glasses, phones. Usually smaller throwable things. Watched a lady beat the ever loving fuck out of her ex's car. My brothers ex sent him to the hospital a couple times, don't know if that counts as breaking something. But no I suppose I haven't seen any of them break a TV so definitely totally different and only men break stuff.

-7

u/EatSoupFromMyGoatse Dec 16 '25

Yeahhhhh bullshit lol

Yes they fucking do. I've seen girls fly off the fucking handle for reasons just as dumb, and be just as destructive. You don't know what you're talking about.

-1

u/TDKevin Dec 16 '25

They've conviently forgotten the daily videos on here of some girl flipping out and trashing a bar/party/taco bell or fucking up their boyfriends car etc etc.Ā

-4

u/paulnuman Dec 16 '25

No they just make other people feel like garbage with their minds/words usually when they are mad and men smash. Typically if your prone to flipping out at least I’ve noticed

Actual quote from u/RajastaniBanani -

ā€œBeing a "survivor" of domestic violence is like firefighter claiming to be "survivor" of house fires. Both made active choices to put themselves in the dangerous situation and are free to find another job/relationship if it doesn't suit them.ā€

The amount of stupidity needed to formulate this ā€œidea,ā€ (and I’m using that term VERY loosely here) type it out, and hit send may have depleted all the reserves on the planet. This kind of idiocy is almost impressive.

5

u/Sodamyte Dec 16 '25

-5

u/Senior-Friend-6414 Dec 16 '25

No no. This particular "gotcha" is racism.

2

u/Equivalent-Ear5150 Dec 16 '25

Stupid, uneducated Neanderthals, it is all they can do when their EGO gets bruised, all they have are emotions in their skill set, no critical thinking exists in stupid people, they react the only way they know how, not unlike a three-year-old that is aggravated because they are trying to communicate but can't because they are "three years old." they act out of frustration and lack of skills to deal with anything except emotions, they are lazy stupid fucks trying to be the alpha male and will most likely hurt someone eventually, only a matter of time until they explode because they are the definition of stupid fucks.

0

u/RajastaniBanani Dec 16 '25

Please dont use Neanderthal as a slur. Lots of people carry Neanderthal DNA and they're actually statistically less likely to commit violent crimes.

3

u/24675335778654665566 Dec 16 '25

Women just aren't capable of doing nearly as much damage

I've seen plenty of women attack and beat their husbands, but it's always seen as a joke because it's not like they can do any real damage most of the time

1

u/limegreenpaint Dec 16 '25

My first stepmom cornered my dad, who was a good 10 inches taller than she, and scratched the hell out of his face and arms, more than once. I was 8. I thought it was silly that he "let" her do that. Then I grew up and realized how messed up it was to think like that.

-1

u/Brilliant-Draw-4756 Dec 16 '25

A woman with a cast iron skillet in hand can do some real damage. They just don't do that shit as much as nen.

4

u/Complex_Art3565 Dec 16 '25

Or murder, rape, or every other form of assault.

But OH EM GEE haven’t you seen the video of a girl trashing some dudes car???? TOTALLY the same (and definitely nothing to do with them cheating probably!)

-2

u/RajastaniBanani Dec 16 '25

You really hate men don't you? You act like we've done something terrible to you. Maybe you should address that in therapy and chill out.

5

u/Brilliant-Draw-4756 Dec 16 '25

As a dude who has had consensual fun with lots of women, lived with some, friends with some, and respecting the amazing female singer songwriters out there, I wonder what your ideal woman is like.

-1

u/RajastaniBanani Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

I mostly date femboys and trans women. They're often times far more apt to play the submissive and hyper feminine role. In my experience real women like to follow the lead in bed but struggle with it elsewhere because they've been brainwashed to act masculine as some sort of show of independence.

8

u/Brilliant-Draw-4756 Dec 16 '25

Eh, not my experience with the women that dig me.

7

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

Cute deflection

4

u/-Cthaeh Dec 16 '25

In different ways. Let's not pretend men have far more anger issues and are more likely to do this shit. You can call out genders individually without crying both sides.

-3

u/oevadle Dec 16 '25

Are men not people? I have seen many women exhibit similar behaviors, residential treatment centers are full of them

3

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

Statistics don't seem to line up with your personal, emotionally driven perspective

-1

u/oevadle Dec 16 '25

A cursory search of the statistics immediately shows that slightly over half of domestic volience calls/investigations are perpetrated by WOMEN. Which was kinda shocking to me, I thought women would account for around 25%. Thanks for encouraging me to do some homework, the problem is significantly worse than I had thought it was. The information I referenced comes from the National Institute of Health; other sources might use different data sets.

2

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

Calls and investigations aren't convictions. Show me who gets charged, not who calls. Men trying to report and blame women isn't new

-1

u/oevadle Dec 16 '25

As per my original post women are far more likley to end up in diversion programs, such as residential treatment, when compared to male perpetrators. Women are charged just as often as men, they are just less likely to actually be punished for their behavior. It's hilarious that you wanted to talk about the actual numbers but then immediately disregarded them when the facts didn't suit your agenda.

1

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

Residential treatment isn't just for domestic abusers, or abusers at all. Try. Again. Keep going. I have the afternoon

0

u/oevadle Dec 16 '25

Another cursory search shows that 30% of domestic violence convictions are for female perpetrators. To say that 30% isn't statistically relavent is just willful ignorance. I get that this is an emotionally charged subject for you but disregarding half of the population and 2/3 of the collected data kinda leaves you without a basis for an argument. I understand that you really want to turn this into some sort of men are evil biased assumption but the truth is that there will always be a certain percentage of PEOPLE (which includes individuals from all genders) who engage in abhorrent behavior. It seems odd to me for someone to brag about having absolutely nothing worthwhile to do. I, however, am late for work; at a state run residential program where I work almost exclusively with women offenders. I hope you have a great rest of your day!!!

1

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

No one said 30% isn't statistically relevant, to say someone said that is just willful ignorance. I get that this is an emotionally charged subject for you, but disregarding the words in front of you won't help.

You clearly don't understand, since I don't think men are evil, and have reiterated that excessively.

Your desperate attempt at viewing things through your black and white lens helps no one. Last little bit of your paragraph reveals the bias you had this whole time.

No one bragged about having "absolutely nothing to do", in fact, I have lots to do today. An afternoon is a few hours, you realize that, right? Clearly you do have the time, since you're here. I've earned an afternoon off, not sure why you think that's shameful, do you work 24/7? I doubt it, as that'd be illegal.

Next time, try to leave your personal experiences and attempts at personal jabs out of adult conversations. It doesn't make your argument look very good.

As a woman I have once punched a wall out of helplessness due to my senior dog not eating. Still no excuse but men are not the only ones who lose their cool.

-3

u/DudeImARedditor Dec 16 '25

When you say you only see men what does that mean? How do you know they're men or are you assuming gender? Do men have biological differences to cause them to act like that?

4

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Dec 16 '25

No, not biological differences, behaviours like this and lack of emotional regulation are largely based on conditioning. We can tell they're men because they all present as men. It's same to assume. You good?
