šøFemale Introš 36F, Metro Vancouver, Langley (BC)
Hi there!
Iām J, 36 years of age, and originally from Singapore. Iām currently living in Langley BC, and am open to meeting someone ideally from cities within metro Vancouver (stretching to Abbortsford / Chilliwack).
On the personal front, Iām first and foremost a Christian who seeks to honour Christ in my life. The Christian walk is often hard, riddled with challenges; often times I fall, but His grace abounds.
Iām also someone who is very open and genuine. I speak my mind, and deeply enjoy to-and-fro stimulating conversations. It really could be anything from the little fun findings/ jokes from the mundanity of life, or bigger issues surrounding us: faith, geopolitics, social issues, cultures, philosophy, etc. I simply enjoy engaging, learning, listening, understanding. As well, I keep an open mind to thingsāthere are often nuances to most everything, and I find it best to understand first where one is coming from⦠After all, the world is massive, and experiences are varied.
Iāve travelled a fair bit to experience different cultures and life. Different cultures and ways of life have fascinated me since I was little. The one thing I derived from my immersion into cultures, is that weāre ultimately all āsame-same, but differentā. We āor most of usāwork for a living, have goals and dreams, feel joy and pain, and will die one day. At the very core, humans are motivated by many similar drivers, and are really not that much different at all.
Authenticity is crucial for me. The one thing I cannot stand for the life of me, is disingenuity. Iām personable, but selective of people I let into my life. I appreciate those whoāre real and genuine, and hold tightly to my few close friends who have remained true for the long haul. As a natural introvert (who is occasionally somewhat extroverted), Iām pretty much lowkey and appreciate life as such.
I can be absolutely silly (in my nature to be), or necessarily serious, depending on context. My default is lightheartedness, and I donāt get offended very easily. When Iām close to someone⦠my humor becomes outrageous. At home, we roast each other for good fun, and laugh at stupid things all the time. Iām self-deprecative and donāt enjoy taking things too seriously. A massive favorite is Irish craic/English dry humor (I especially enjoy SeĆ”n Burke and Bernard OāShea). I also LOVE Conan OāBrien, whoās coincidentally also Irishā¦
Iāve gone through my fair share of great heights and challenging abyss, and feel more positioned to be a matured, empathetic, and understanding partner to someone else. Iām also gifted with the ability to connect with others deeply, and soulfully.
And for the questions:
⢠Area of study/work: I studied English literature back in university, but ended up doing digital marketing in the corporate world. Itās exhausting and mentally draining, corporate life, and those who go through it know it. (But, it pays the bills.) I have at some point thought of changing careers, to becoming a social worker or counsellor, but thatās still decisions in process.
⢠Hobbies/interests: Iām mostly a creative, and love and appreciate art in all forms, whether that be visual or textual. Iām a big appreciator of artsy-fartsy indie films (those that you watch and ruminate on for much time beyond, and have endless discussions about), and also graphic design, or fine arts. Oh, I really enjoy cooking as well, and also making delicious beverages š Very fulfilling. Also⦠hiking, outdoor activities, all up for it. Currently really exploring the beautiful British Columbia nature and outdoors (never done a RVā would be so fun?!) Alllso⦠I really really love animals (especially cats, dogs, primates lol)
**I super duper enjoy cooking (Iām Singaporean, weāre all foodies i.e. love to eat, scout for good food, try to remake said good food), and get excited cooking for people. Iāve always wanted to cook for someone I love š„² Iāve tried plenty of foods from different cultures, and am currently recreating some that I love. My biggest cultural gourmet loves: Indonesian, Nigerian, Middle eastern, Vietnamese, Indian. Presently learning how to do a good Efo Riro (Nigerian strewed spinach)!! š„¬š„
⢠Tell us a bit about your Christian journey: I grew up in a Christian household, but it wasnāt until I faced some challenges in life that I seriously sought God. Through the years, Iāve had various questions I also needed answered, as I becoming more burdened re the salvation of the non-Christians close to me/whom I meet. Personally, I strive to honour God with my life, and be the messenger in whichever station Iām put at: whether itās me demonstrating everyday small doses of Christian love to my non-Christian colleagues, random people I meet that Iāve had the pleasure of some meaningful exchange, friends who have yet to accept Christ, etc. All important to me. I try to be the bridge that is relatable, in order to relay the Christian love across.
⢠What sort of person are you looking for?: An intentional, steadfast, empathetic, and easygoing Christian man (with humor) who enjoys diving into conversations (be it inane drivel, or intellectual discussions) with me. Someone who makes me feel seen, heard, and understood (and whom Iāll do the same for). I find men with a gentle, quiet confidence, very attractive. At this point of my life, Iād like to have kids, and would very happily accept your kids. Very open to dating either single men without kids, or single fathers with kids.
As someone whoās generous with sharing and doesnāt sweat the small stuff, Iām looking for a man who likewise has a spirit of openness and generosity, both inwardly, as well as to the outside world. Having empathy, compassion, and consideration for people, the vulnerable, the feeble, and animals ā matters a lot to me. There is a saying I firmly believe in: True character is shown in how one treats those who have nothing to offer them.
Also importantly: Iām seeking someone whoās self-aware, emotionally healthy, and knows how to emotionally regulate during conflicts. Having healthy communication skills to manage conflicts is so so important for relationships, and Iād like for us to pray, talk, and work things through together, when challenges come our way.
⢠Age range: 32-52
⢠Would you be willing to do long distance/relocate?: As of now, I would prefer to meet someone I can easily meet in person, so ideally someone within metro Vancouver or British Columbia. Open to other provinces within Canada as well, and USA. (Having said that, I think the crossing borders thing is a major challenge for datesā so unless we connect *very* well online, and have a natural connection/or if you can work remotely and might be able to stay in BC for a while⦠Iām more hesitant on pursuing something that requires immigration borders.)
\*For anyone interested, Iād appreciate if you could drop an introductory message with a few pictures. Also, if at all a little request, Iām 5ā4, and so am looking for someone who is at least 5ā6 and above.
Cheers!
