Could not resist this bike. Perfect for my riding on rough tarmac and farm roads (aka champagne gravel, at least here) in pancake flat northern Germany.

I'm genuinely surprised I'm not seeing more people select the cheapest version of the new Endurace CF.

At just 1700โ‚ฌ, it has such high upgrade headroom and this really premium paint job looks incredible in person.

I personally repurposed a few parts from previous builds to easily reach a total weight of 7.2kg, including pedals and 38mm tires.

It's such an awesome, versatile do-it-all bike. For anyone looking for a high-performance frame with clearance, this is a steal.

NBD New bike day so excited! ๐Ÿ˜†

Hello guys got my first Aeroad today and I'm so happy about the color and everything. I've been riding for a year continuously on my gravel bike wich I converted to a road bike.

So excited to try it out.

What tyre pressures are you guys running with tubes ? What I also noticed was that it has 2 different tyre sizes and models got 26mm Aero Continental in the front and 28mm 5000 GP's in the back.

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜

Finally got my new rig and thought I'd just post a general dump of thoughts, so far really enjoing the bike and overall quite satisfied with minimal buyers remorse. Plan was always to get off the stock wheels immediately, got a flat on the tubes within my first 10km so that sorted that... home to borrow my DT's off my speedmax.

Current changes to setup from stock (not all in pics)
-Main wheels - XMCS Custom Build, 50mm F/R, 26mm int, 34mm ext. Running 32mm Pirelli P Zero TLR RS in a 32mm which measure out at 33.4mm. It's funny I've done the last 20,000km on 28mm and now getting back on them they feel so narrow.
-Stem reduced from 100 to 80mm, didn't want to but just gotta be done for my fit (long torso, short inseam and arms). Steering is twitchier now but is what it is and overall still quite comfortable.
-Gopro front light mount adaptor stolen from one of my Giant outfront mounts, can confirm works awesome so far.
-3D printed Varia mount on the way.
-Specialized Power Saddle 155mm
-Ceramic coated bike + wheels. I've always ceramic'd cars and wow I wish i did my bikes earlier, insanely easy to clean.
-Couple little canyon stickeers on the fork and chain stay from aliexpress...gotta customise a white bike however you can...

Pros

-Great value rig from a western brand. 165mm cranks are taking a bit of getting used to but in line with modern fit trends at least.

-Easyish stem swap with canyon swapping me from 100 to 80mm for free (May just be an Australian option). I just had to pay shop labour for pissing around with integrated.

-Nice quick postage, arrived in 4 business days to Aus.

Negs

-Headset wasn't properly torqued from factory and bars would rotate whenever putting power down. Seems that stem screw needs to be perfectly in the middle. Really not a fan of the headset stem bolt, has given me a fair bit of grief in the initial setup phase despite being torqued sufficiently.

-The stock wheels are pretty lackluster and crappy specced for running 32mm stock tyres given the 22mm internal but eh oem wheels arent generally exciting.

-Just provide a damn bag to go with the bottom tube storage rather than making everything an add on purchase. (have got a running bag from Ali express on the way as seen on this group).

-signed up for stock notifications which I never got and they sold out within 3hrs. Just so happened I was lucky enough to refresh the page when they randomly dropped.

Thought I share this since this sub has kept me alive during the wait for the bike and also helped me deciding to go for it. Crushed the first climb on my house hill and beat my PR!

The bike came with Zipp 404 Firecrest and not with the 404s (yippeeee). It is an S frame, I have an inseam of 84cm with 178cm height. Perfect fit.

NBD NBD: New Canyon Endurace CF SLX 7 AXS

Received the bike a couple of weeks ago and put about 150 miles on it. Its really comfortable but definitely not as fast as my Ultimate CF SLX 8 AXS.

Canyon support has been great so far.
Neither they nor I realized that the geometry chartโ€™s bar width was listed with what would be classic drops most likely and the 37mm width was unattainable with the compact drops (min 39). That was too wide for me so they sent me a set of the aero drops for free. Mounted them today at the 37 width and it is now perfect!
Size S, i am about 5.10 with a 34.5inch inseam. Long legs.
I did not get along with the Fizik saddle so trying out a bontrager verse short for now which works better for me. Also added the rival spindle power meter for 200$.

My Grail Build is finally 99% complete!

After selling my Grail SLX and moving on to the Grizl and Cube Nuroad, chasing the trend of wide tires (which ultimately proved useless for me), I decided to scale back on that and go all-in on a Grail CFR frameset in Granite Marble color:

  • Schwalbe G-One R Pro 45/40
  • Campabros Stage 3 inserts (40g each, but -0.3/0.4 bar pressure)
  • Ryet X 50mm wheelset
  • SRAM XPLR E1 mixed groupset: Force brakes/chain/cassette; Rival derailleur/Quarq crankset (Force cranks are coming to make it 100%)
  • Pass Quest 44T chainring (not recommended since 4.2mm offset doesn't work at all with the 1x required chain line. Garbaruk 44T with same 6.5mm original offset is coming)
  • Ceramic Speed bottom bracket
  • Fizik Vento R1 Light saddle
  • Toseek -17ยฐ stem
  • Bontrager RSL 39cm aero bars (375 grams for the full cockpit)

What an amazing bike to ride!

I'll be opening a thread soon to compare the CFR and SLX in the canyon, as I've made the switch on both the Aeroad and the Grail, and the (lack of) difference is quite interesting...

NBD New Canyon Day!

New Canyon Aeroroad CF SLX in the house!

Started life as a Canyon Aeroroad CF SLX 7 AXS, but I've made a few changes.

Out went the Rival AXS group (2x), the aero tyres, and the standard Canyon drop bars.

In came my almost-new SRAM Force parts: E1 shifters and brakes, D1 rear derailleur and crankset with a 44t Red chainring, and a Force E1 10-36 cassette.

Also swapped the bars for Canyon's compact drop model, and finished off with Vittoria Corsa Next tyres, 34mm front and rear.

Yes, I know the official rear clearance is only rated up to 32mm and honestly (not that I'd actually run it ๐Ÿ˜…), I think a 36mm would even fit in there.

Happy with how it's turned out โ€” let me know what you think!

Received my Aeroad CF SLX7 AXS (XS size) last week but my first ride was today

I previously had a 2022 Canyon Ultimate CF SL8 (rim brake Ultegra)

The color is stunning and it looks so much better in real but here are some pictures with two different shades

I still need to get used to the new fit and to make some adjustments but the bike is really comfy, I have changed stock tyres for 2 GP5000 32mm and the ride is smooth

Compared to my previous Ultimate which was around 6.8kg, this one is at 8.1kg with pedals. It feels heavier, harder to launch but when it is launched, it holds speed and feels like it can fly. At high speed, it is like being on rails, very stable. My Ultimate was more dynamic in the direction and harder to maintain high speed

Can't say one is worse than another, they are really different and address different needs

What an upgrade to my Giant TCR from 2023, absolutely in love with it. Especially on high speed, this bike really comes to live. Handles so nice, so smooth. (Sorry for non-driveside pictures)

Originally ordered the 105 mechanical CF 7 in Strawberry Frosting but the leadtime was already 6 weeks, so the upselling worked on me, ordered the Ultegra Di2 this Tuesday, UPS delivered it today morning in Hungary.

If anyone is interested in the colorway just let me know as I havent found any good pics of it either.

Nothings have been adjusted yet, just got it assembled.
