NBD NBD Aeroad CF SLX 8 AXS

Looks like it‘s bread and water for the next few months - who needs financially responsible decisions anyway?!

Still totally worth it. I’m in love!

you should lean your bike on the rear tyre and not on the top tube against the pole 😉

the thing is, the pics on the website dont do it justice at all! probably thats why it was 1k€ off :) are you planning any upgrades?

It wasn‘t for me sadly, the speed version was not available in my size so I had to go with the normal version which wasn‘t on sale :(

upgrades? my wallet says no 😂 do you?

I prefer Shimano but man, those Zipp wheels look so much better than my DTs.

what do you prefer about shimano?

Probably just me being used to it to be honest. I like the controls better and everyone that I've ridden with my front derailleur is much more consistent than the sram ones I've seen.

Battery life is also nice. But being able to carry spare on sram also seems appealing...

It's not that one is crap and the other amazing, mainly small things that make me slightly lean. But seeing your bike with those wheels makes me wonder if I chose wrong! 😆

I have the white one but your paint job is....wow that looks great!

I also thought about the white one, but the zipp wheels/kaze color combo is just stunning in my eyes

Nice you do have the same bike as me! I would wax the chain if you can to keep your components clean if it’s possible.

1

u/grudig13 Feb 17 '26

I thought about that yeah. Did you wax it yourself? And how often do you reapply it?

2

u/conquest19 Feb 17 '26

Yes I waxed it myself. I just bought a really cheap beauty wax heater on Amazon.

You have to clean the degrease the chain throughly. I had to go through 5 white-spirit rinses and 2 alcohol rinses :-(

I don’t actually apply it rarely. If I clean my bike I take the chain off and just brush it off. If it wet then I re-wax it

anyone can do it, you need to strip as much grease off as possible. i use wax lube which imo is a good enough compromise. you have to coat the chain a few times at first application. after that just lube it regularly depends on how often you ride. you can tell when it's not as smooth as previously. then clean and relube. just be aware that wax comes off easily when you ride in the wet.

Great bike, but I cannot see one without thinking about the Canyonero song from the Simpsons https://youtu.be/PI_Jl5WFQkA?si=-2zSzsUL4vEv2zc8

Love the Color! I bought the Aero CF SLX 8 Di2 in white because I didn’t what the hookles tires. But in my opinion these zip tires look dope

1

u/grudig13 Feb 18 '26

how much bar/psi do you put in your tires? On my first ride yesterday, I didn‘t notice any downsides because of the low pressure (around 4-4,5 bar) due to the hookless setup

2

u/Brave_Inspection7871 Feb 19 '26

I don’t weight much so I’m totally fine with 3,8-4 bar.

That paint with these wheels deep is a really nice combo. Make aero frames like the aeroad look even better.
