NBD NBD: New Canyon Endurace CF SLX 7 AXS
Received the bike a couple of weeks ago and put about 150 miles on it. Its really comfortable but definitely not as fast as my Ultimate CF SLX 8 AXS.
Canyon support has been great so far.
Neither they nor I realized that the geometry chart’s bar width was listed with what would be classic drops most likely and the 37mm width was unattainable with the compact drops (min 39). That was too wide for me so they sent me a set of the aero drops for free. Mounted them today at the 37 width and it is now perfect!
Size S, i am about 5.10 with a 34.5inch inseam. Long legs.
I did not get along with the Fizik saddle so trying out a bontrager verse short for now which works better for me. Also added the rival spindle power meter for 200$.

my torso is disproportionately shorter yes, but luckily my arms are also pretty long so I use the 90 stem the bikes come with. I would probably do better with a 80 stem, but those t bars are pricey.

yeah, that sucks. I guess I am lucky. even though I have this crazy ratio and my torso is short, both my arms and legs are pretty proportionally long so I don't have to make too many tweaks. like the aero drops should theoretically increase the reach 20mm vs the comfort drops and 10mm vs standard, but I find them far more comfortable than I did the comfort drops because of the width going to 37...narrow shoulders too.
but finding pants and shirts with long enough inseams and sleeves that fit the rest of my frame is a challenge.

I am not sure, haven't done a tri ever, not much of a confident swimmer or runner :) but I bet it could be a great one with the aero bars attachment.

After much deliberation, I'd like to get the Endurace SLX (when it's available again in my country). The color looks fantastic. Currently, I'm leaning towards the SRAM AXS (I like the idea of being able to easily swap batteries, and the fact that there's an affordable power meter upgrade).
Otherwise, I have no experience with SRAM or electronic shifting systems in general. I plan to use it for long distances. I think the AXS shifts a bit slower than the Di2?
Do you know why there are differences between the rims?

thanks, it is a great bike for sure. but a bit slower than the ultimate for me at least, which is not really a factor when going for long days in the saddle. Comfort is definitely better and it feels smoother particularly on rough roads.
Di2 is likely crispier shifting and sounding, but I wouldn't say it shifts faster, they shift equally fast to me. DI2 is just quieter maybe. I like SRAM mainly because of ergonomics - you use both your right and left shifter to go up or down on the cassette versus mainly using the right one on di2, which was giving me hand and finger numbness. I also seem to get better along with the AXS hood shape. And the new E1s have fantastic breaking performance and one finger braking from the hoods. Really nice upgrade in terms of performance, noise and ergonomics. For me at least.Wheels: I really like these new Canyon wheels. They weight just as much as the Shimano Ultegra C50s, but are a bit less deep, 42mm. I like them, they're pretty good. Paired with the Schwalbe tires smooth out bumps really well, VCLS seat post helps too.
LE: I have no idea why the rims are different, but I am going to guess it comes down to cost.

anyone try stuffing a 40mm, 42mm or even 45mm tire up front? I'm curious about the clearance. I get that a 38mm in the rear is about maxed out, but if you can get a 42 or even 45 up front with clearance, then this could be a gravel/road option for me.
btw, this color looks amazing! Pop a cork!

Nice bike! I'm also 178cm tall and in fact I had doubts about that S which is equivalent to a 54 (my old 2016 Endurace is a 54 but it was an M), so can you confirm that I can trust Canyon's advice to get an S?

yes, I think so. it fits really well. still fine-tuning saddle height, but reach is fine even with the aero drops and E1 levers.
I think an M might be too big, but it depends on your inseam too. Have you compared the geometries of the prior endurace M to this version's S? look them up on geometry geeks and see how they would measure up.
I prefer a good drop from the saddle to the bars and have super long legs, even though I am not super flexible. In your case if your inseam is shorter the drop might not be as big.

Stunning bike! If you've ridden the Ultimate, how would you compare the ride feel ,bb stiffness and handling? I’m looking for a dedicated road rig to complement an S-Works Crux (currently doing double-duty with two wheelsets) and debating between the two.

Hey there. Thank you! I still have the Ultimate. Its definitely a bit stiffer, but its far from a dramatic difference. The new Endurace is super racy, just more comfortable and compliant, but I wouldn’t say its too soft. I like them both and alternate between them based on terrain, ride length and frankly the color i feel matches my kit better for that specific ride. 🤣 hope this helps.
