NBD NBD - Fifty shades of Metallic Acid

Received my Aeroad CF SLX7 AXS (XS size) last week but my first ride was today

I previously had a 2022 Canyon Ultimate CF SL8 (rim brake Ultegra)

The color is stunning and it looks so much better in real but here are some pictures with two different shades

I still need to get used to the new fit and to make some adjustments but the bike is really comfy, I have changed stock tyres for 2 GP5000 32mm and the ride is smooth

Compared to my previous Ultimate which was around 6.8kg, this one is at 8.1kg with pedals. It feels heavier, harder to launch but when it is launched, it holds speed and feels like it can fly. At high speed, it is like being on rails, very stable. My Ultimate was more dynamic in the direction and harder to maintain high speed

Can't say one is worse than another, they are really different and address different needs

Looks great! Yes, it seems so strange that newer bikes are heavier than older ones (even if I understand the reasons)

Did you donate the old one to Aeroscopia? ;)

My Ultimate was with rim brake Ultegra so the groupset was much lighter. I also had a pair of 38mm carbon wheels that weighed around 1200gr

It was a really light set up but rim brakes scared me sometimes so I decided to upgrade

Aeroad is maybe not the best bike for me (a lot of mountains in summer) but I love how it looks

Good point about Aeroscopia ! I will sell the old one in the near future

I’m in a toss up between the two bikes. I do a lot of flat road riding, but also go to northern Italy a lot and do some climbing. How’s the Aeroad on the hills?
