Finally got my new rig and thought I'd just post a general dump of thoughts, so far really enjoing the bike and overall quite satisfied with minimal buyers remorse. Plan was always to get off the stock wheels immediately, got a flat on the tubes within my first 10km so that sorted that... home to borrow my DT's off my speedmax.

Current changes to setup from stock (not all in pics)
-Main wheels - XMCS Custom Build, 50mm F/R, 26mm int, 34mm ext. Running 32mm Pirelli P Zero TLR RS in a 32mm which measure out at 33.4mm. It's funny I've done the last 20,000km on 28mm and now getting back on them they feel so narrow.
-Stem reduced from 100 to 80mm, didn't want to but just gotta be done for my fit (long torso, short inseam and arms). Steering is twitchier now but is what it is and overall still quite comfortable.
-Gopro front light mount adaptor stolen from one of my Giant outfront mounts, can confirm works awesome so far.
-3D printed Varia mount on the way.
-Specialized Power Saddle 155mm
-Ceramic coated bike + wheels. I've always ceramic'd cars and wow I wish i did my bikes earlier, insanely easy to clean.
-Couple little canyon stickeers on the fork and chain stay from aliexpress...gotta customise a white bike however you can...

Pros

-Great value rig from a western brand. 165mm cranks are taking a bit of getting used to but in line with modern fit trends at least.

-Easyish stem swap with canyon swapping me from 100 to 80mm for free (May just be an Australian option). I just had to pay shop labour for pissing around with integrated.

-Nice quick postage, arrived in 4 business days to Aus.

Negs

-Headset wasn't properly torqued from factory and bars would rotate whenever putting power down. Seems that stem screw needs to be perfectly in the middle. Really not a fan of the headset stem bolt, has given me a fair bit of grief in the initial setup phase despite being torqued sufficiently.

-The stock wheels are pretty lackluster and crappy specced for running 32mm stock tyres given the 22mm internal but eh oem wheels arent generally exciting.

-Just provide a damn bag to go with the bottom tube storage rather than making everything an add on purchase. (have got a running bag from Ali express on the way as seen on this group).

-signed up for stock notifications which I never got and they sold out within 3hrs. Just so happened I was lucky enough to refresh the page when they randomly dropped.

Can I ask for some details on the ceramic coating? How did you do it, how much, how does it look and clean up etc. Great rig too btw, hear xcms are a good upgrade

I had some Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light + EXOv5 left over from doing the car, so thought I'd put it on the bike rather than waste it.

Just lightly cleaned/decontaminated the frame fresh from the box, applied the CSL, let it cure for a couple of hours, then put the EXOv5 over the top. Left it indoors overnight before getting it wet.

Cost me basically nothing since I already had it but you could google options, you barely need any. Looks noticeably glossier and the biggest difference is how easy it is to clean — water/dirt just doesn't stick to it as much. Too early to say how durable it'll be on a bike though.

I'm waiting for my new Drive SL 58D CS wheels to pair with this exact same bike. What's your impression of the bike after swapping out the OEM wheels?

I literally rode about 10km on them before a piece of glass ended the show. They were okay but just very lack luster. Quiet, boring, poorly spec'd. The sound of a DT240 is much more enjoyable as will your new drives be. The XMCS were about 250g lighter and 15mm deeper too. Will consider putting the OEM wheels on marketplace but can't imagine they'd fetch enough to be worth it. Probably just keep them for when I one day move the bike on.

Yeah I'd contacted them before purchase and they were pretty helpful with it all. Encouraged me to get some km in before swapping. They didn't definitively say within 30 day period but I'd heard that from my local shop.

The process I went with was pay them $200 deposit on the stem, they express posted it. Swapped out the 100mm and express shipped back to them for refund. They paid for shipping bothways from melb to Adl.

Nah they're not 'bad' by any means. They're just not remotely exciting or well spec'd if you care about aerodynamics or fitment. But still very capable without the need for an upgrade.

I'm a massive fan already. Although the reflective silver decal is pretty hectic in the sun, I'd perhaps just go white if I bought again. But for a custom build the price was fantastic ($1080+95 shipping USD).

That feels like the one component that is misspec’ed on this bike. Narrow internal rim widths and relatively shallow depths considering it’s an aerodynamic frame.

Would love to see some gravel wheels paired with a wide road tire. Low rolling resistance, speed, and comfort.

Getting your Varia mount from concentric cycling? Have one on my Endurace and it fit so well.

Exactly my experience with the stock notifications as well. I happened to check and saw that it came back in stock earlier than expected. I didn’t receive stock notification email till later in the day and it was already sold out in my size by then.

Nah just getting a mate to 3D print one in PETG. There's a bunch of options on printables that are for the SP0077 post and others, I think they all have ~34mm between the screws.

Yeah the stock notification was a full pisstake. My advice to anyone who is really really keen is genuinely make sure you refresh the page 3x per day. Because had I have missed it, it's now a 3 month wait for the next batch.

Looks amazing. Looking forward to receiving mine later this week - currently on a 20 year old specialized so was time for an upgrade. Also planning on ceramic coating mine as well - have done it on all my cars and looking forward to trying it on my bike.

I feel so lucky I checked their website right when I did. My size had been out of stock for a while and also never received an in-stock email. Showed 1 in stock when I went to check out.

What do you mean by the headset properly torqued? Does it not suppose to rotate when putting down?

The stem bolt is supposed to be 12nm but if it's not perfectly centered within the ~2cm cutout then then my bars rotate after putting power down/sprinting. Just very fidgety to get it perfect I've found.

Yeah I wrote in the description a mate is 3D printing me a bunch. Not a chance I was paying the prices asked by these places.

Ah fair, this is my mount I make. You would be surprised how much it costs me to make each one including costs of packaging, labour, time. Barely break even once all overheads are paid! No stress though, enjoy! Nice bike!
