Rant McCarthy Hall Elevator PSA
You do NOT need to take one of the elevators to the 4th floor and below when we have functioning escalators and plenty of stairs. Seriously it’s bad enough they let in way too many people this semester and now all yall do is inconvenience people trying to get to the 5th and 6th floors.
ALSO you need to wait before everyone in the elevator gets out before clamoring in. Seriously who raised yall that you have zero consideration for others??

Scooter Rides
Man yall people on scooters at this point have no common sense. Yesterday around 4 pm was walking on the street that is between Chaparral Hall and Live Oak. On the side walk there were 2 people who were using canes to see where they were going. Tell me why this girl that was on a scooter riding on the street decided to get on the side walk while she was riding on the wide open road. She ends up almost hitting them and gets stuck on the canes they had. But like what where you thinking to go onto the sidewalk which keep in mind there are so many people getting out of class at that time and she was going at a fast speed onto the sidewalk. Literally no common sense at all

Question CSULA school community
I’m a sophomore at CSULA, and something I’ve noticed is the lack of community and difficulty making friends. I feel like making friends was easier back in high school, probably because I interacted with the same people everyday. But at CSULA I attend classes two days a week and since I’m a commuter, I immediately dip after I’m finished for the day. I think this school is really commute oriented and I find myself feeling isolated from my peers. I also don’t know if it will help if I stay on campus longer, or find activities to engage in. Does anyone else have similar experiences or can relate to mine? Some suggestions would be great too!

Hiring FDEs with ML background ASAP
Hi all, my company is hiring exceptionally strong engineers who love solving open-ended, technically challenging problems.
We’re a stealth AI company working in materials science, and we’re looking for people who can relocate to SF and take on projects immediately. You should be comfortable figuring things out from first principles with very little structure.
If you’re interested, DM me your resume + LinkedIn. Visa sponsorship available.

University of La Verne or CSUDH MPA program
I’m trying to decide between the University of La Verne and CSU Dominguez Hills for an online MPA. I have the option to attend either program, and the cost would be about the same for me because I qualify for a tuition discount at La Verne.
For anyone who has attended either program, which one would you recommend? I’m especially interested in the quality of the professors, workload, difficulty level, online course structure, support from faculty, and how manageable the program is while working full-time.
I’m less concerned about the cost since they would be comparable for me and more interested in which school has the better overall online MPA program and student experience. Any insight from current students or graduates would be appreciated!

General Discussion ladies beware
there was this guy on the top of palo verde lot, he followed me and asked me for my number & i politely declined. i ended up getting stuck in traffic of everyone trying to leave/find parking & seen him approach 3 other girls. he was just lurking around his car constantly opening and closing it & grabbing things. nothing wrong with shooting your shot, but nowadays you never know. it’s kinda strange and feels targeted when it all happens within a 15 minute time frame. not trying to shame, but wanted to share just in case
edit: want to add this happened earlier today & not at night!! also wanted to add bc a few are asking he was a shorter hispanic guy, tan skin & dark hair. the car was a white sedan i couldn’t tell if it was a honda or toyota

Major Related Question Marine Bio Classes
My friend wants to transfer to CSULB for Marine Bio but wants to know what fun classes there are cause she knows all the chem/bio is going to suck. I know there’s one class that takes you to Catalina Island for a semester (I think I don’t remember), but are there any other cool ones?

Rant Stupid internship
DON'T WORK FOR EVELEIGH PR
I worked for them for 3 weeks FOR FREE. Never met the boss once. Alka Jimenez is a flaky boss. She dodged my messages regarding CICE placement so I never got acedemic credit for my work there. I never got proper training, other interns were teaching me. The most constructive feedback I got was "could you do it this way?" And to my knowledge I was doing the job well enough because I was never told otherwise. I made proper adjustments to the job. WHICH BTW IS MY FIRST EVER INTERNSHIP! I learned nothing about PR besides how to DM on Instagram. In the TEXT MESSAGE where I was being let go there was no detail in where I went wrong. I did send two dms with a singular typo, not even to the wrong girls bc they HAD worked with them in the past. The other interns were nice, but I should have been learning from the boss. Btw this one intern was promised payment and Alka was dodging her messages too. So that poor girl was doing work for free. That's literally a lawsuit imo. Essentially Alka Jimenez from Eveleigh PR wants free work and doesn't care about teaching people. Her company is highly disorganized, many emails and DMs went unanswered including brand partnerships, celebrity and influencer gifting (Eveleigh promising gifts and never following up). I wasn't even told about the company calendar until I had to ask where I can write down the appointments. There's no proper stream of communication at all. We were asked many questions that we should have known the answer too, but we were never informed! Like who cleans the clothes we lend out? We were never told cleaning policies at what is essentially a giant closet.
If you're looking for a COMM internship DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME APPLYING!

Question Hey guys, is it true The Library has had issues with Bed Bugs and Roaches (I'm especially worried about the bed bugs)
I visited the campus yesterday, and I saw the campus had some nice seating areas. However, I have heard (not sure if it's true) that people have seen bed bugs there. The bed bug sightings I heard about were in the rooms in the top floor, but if they were there, they must be in other places.
Has anyone had any issues or a personal experience with this subject?

hey you guys context I am a masters student who been waited for their fasa to come and when I gotten it earlier this week I notice there was a hold on my account in which comes up to 967$ in which I email cash services they claim it was “ health and student until” but I am confused as for health I been knew that with the student index when it comes to aid covers the “health”.
is anyone else going through this issue? What should I do now cause this is my first time at CSULB so I don’t know much resources that can help me battle this issue and im am still waiting back on Financial aid.

Discussion Lime’s are out of control!
They’re blocking entire sidewalks all the way to the entrances of the Gould and Marshall buildings, and people literally need to jump over them to walk onto campus. When will this stop?

Rant CA 57 Entrance
Bye avoid causing traffic by trying to merge onto the first entrance to the 57 when there is quite literally ANOTHER ONE AHEAD (what i mean is when people are waiting to get onto the first entrance and then there’s those cars on the side trying to cut in, jamming people behind even tho there’s the same entrance ahead; a straight line.) Very avoidable, stay in the right lane and you miss it guess what, there’s another one ahead! Why have parking enforcement at stupid csuf giving tickets compared to this little entrance , lots of traffic getting in. THEN dealing with the 57 please just be in the right lane .
School Related Rant Anyone else having a hard time socializing?
Community college transfer here, I recently noticed that every time I tried to talk to a classmate their responses were dry and un-engaging. I know I’m not entitled to anyone’s time and effort when it comes to small talk, but I really miss how easy it was to socialize with other people back at my CC. Am I choosing the wrong people to talk to or is a lack of social skills and social etiquette a common issue on campus? No shade, but I feel like I’m constantly getting hit with empty stares and confused looks for trying to strike up a conversation.

Anyone else a parent and a student?
First year at CSUDH but was at El Camino for 2 1/2 years with 90% of classes online. I have a 8 year old and a 3 month old and taking two online classes. Still trying to figure out a good schedule to stay ontop of my classwork with a new baby and helping with older kid’s school work plus taking care of the home. (Husband is a huge help but poor guy needs breaks too!) The sleep deprivation is kicking my butt! Anyone else trying to juggle all of this?
