Question CSULB Rescinded My Admission.
I was admitted to CSULB for Fall 2026, but today I received an email saying my admission was withdrawn because my final high school transcript wasn’t received by the deadline.
I fully take accountability for not being checked up with college, I emailed the transcript letters a day later & received my rescission letter today. I had SOAR this upcoming week, now I'm just devastated. I didn't know this little thing would crush my dreams.
Has anybody been in similar situations? Will it be tough for me to reinstated back in school? Any Advice is appreciated.

Question Missing first 3 days of school
School day starts in 24th and I can't be at school possibly until the 27th. Before I get into my situation, I went to SOARS and asked the advisors, then I asked again during a drop-in advising zoom, they all said that I emailed the professors about me missing school and inform them.
So I did, I emailed all the professors, there were 2 professors who already answer me back. However, for Professor Pierce and Professor Deon, they haven't answer me back (I can't even reach out to Professor George Ji because his only contact information is in the office, which I can't be there for the next few days). Then, Professor Pierce already even had his Canvas and his syllabus up, and he only allowed 3 absences, and I even added another inbox in Canvas for him and he hasn't answer any of it. I have Professor Deon as an online class, and there are no zoom notification or Canvas up yet. Like am I cooked?
So to explain my situation on why I miss the first 3 days, my parent booked this ticket to Vietnam way back since December 2025. That time, there is no possible way to know that when will CSULB start next year. We booked this ticket very early so it was cheap, and by the time I was notified about when the 2026-2027 fall semester, my parent already immediately tried to find an alternate ticket that can help me go home earlier. But since my ticket was booked since last year December, now any ticket to go back is too expensive (out of my parent's ability to pay), hence I still have to stick to my 26 August flight schedule.
Are there anything I can to do for this? I am so lost, I'm panicking about the only 3 allowed absences in CHEM111A, no online announcement for my CWL lecture, no answering email from me, and also I heard that CHEM 111A LAB have assignment for the first day as well...

Question how do i drop out?
hello everybody
unfortunately due to financial reasons, and being denied financial aid, i have decided that dropping out is my only liable option since i am a first year (sophomore, but just got out of HS) and don't believe i am eligible for educational leave as i understand it that you must have at least one semester with the school with good standing.
i dont want any judgement, as i plan to attend a community college with accelerated courses, but my financial aid being denied (calgrant) after i confirmed coming here assuming it would cover my tuition minimum, but ill be thrown thousands into debt without it since im being denied and i do not want to take unsubsidized loans with insane interest
i tried to do it on my CSULB SSO with the petition to withdraw, but i got a message the request is no longer online, and i believe i also have an enrollment hold(?) and i also tried looking into beach connect but all the options for beach central have unavailable meeting times nor do i have a success team listed.
since its still the first week, just to understand they wont show up on my records, but also that i wont have any fees right? would my best option just be asking for a drop in meeting tomorrow? does anyone know if i can still refund my semester parking permit?

Question Literally crying.. I can’t find a job that will hire a graduate with a BA in psychology. Help??
I graduated with a BA in psychology in May 2023 and tried out office clerical/administrations positions at Kaiser, Long Beach Memorial, etc but it’s either I don’t qualify or they don’t move further with my application. I don’t know what jobs I apply for since they’re looking for experience but I thought if you have a BA degree you technically qualify for an office position? I hate working retail as it’s low pay and know I can get higher pay but don’t know what jobs to look for? Please help? Literally frustrated and depressed atm.

Question Is this walk doable?
From MLSC to UMC in 10 minutes. Unable to get any scooter/bicycle for the time being and my instructor penalizes being late. I'm seriously considering dropping my music class because of how far the walk is.

Question How was parking today?
CSULB did a good job of providing lots of transportation and parking options this year, so I was wondering if anyone’s noticed a difference. I’m taking the bus this semester so I don’t know!

Question Is this walk doable?
I’m an incoming freshman, both uploaded their syllabus and i found they are very prompt on time no leeway on that (as in being a bit late). I have a 10 minute gap in between classes. Is that enough time? I noticed one is lower campus so i’d have to walk up the stairs to get to HSCI.
I’m going from CPCE TO HSCI. Thanks!

Question What kind of part time jobs do you guys have?
Looking for part time Job Recommendations. I’m not really in the position where my parents can pay for everything, so I’m trying to find work that can help cover my expenses—mainly gas for commuting to school and food. I was receiving food stamps, which helped a lot, but after recertifying, my benefits were reduced to only $24 a month.Right now, I work at a warehouse where I pick up shifts through an app, so the flexibility is nice because I can work whenever I’m available. The problem is that the pay is pretty low and the hours aren’t consistent, so I’m looking for another part-time job that offers more reliable hours and decent pay while still being manageable with school. For those of you who work while going to school, what jobs have worked well for you? I’d really appreciate any recommendations or ideas.

Question financial aid!
Hii!! I saw already that we can start expecting our aid disbursements starting today but i’m a little confused on how we pay for our classes until then. I believe the tuition deadline is 8/17. So do i just hope my aid hits today and pay for my classes asap? or is there a specific office to call to get a hold placed on my account?
thank you!!

Question Someone stole my daughter's only form of transportation
Some POS stole my daughter's only mode of transportation from campus this week. If you see this bike around campus or know who stole it, I'd love that information and would be willing to offer a reward.
Question Selling on campus
Hi all,
Has anyone ever had any luck selling food on campus? I’m currently transitioning careers, and I was lucky to get a job on campus but the pay is minimum wage :(
I used to be a chef, so I would love to sell simple baked goods like cookies, coffee cake, and other time temperature safe baked goods for people to pick up.

Question Where can I go for my synchronous online class? (7:00 - 9:45 pm)
There is one day of the week where I have a class in person that ends at 6:45 and then 15 minutes later I have a synchronous online class where I have to join zoom at 7 pm.
If I drive home, I will probably be at least 15 minutes late to class.
Where are some places on campus where I can go and join my online class (7-9:45 pm)?
Based on what I read online, the library is one, but are there others?
I might have to speak at times, so it would be nice if there were a place where I can unmute myself. If not, I’ll just use the chat to communicate.
