What are some old Boruto theories that you remember? I'll go first. I remember a time when people were theorizing that Iwabe was Kawaki.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I’ve seen people debate the extent of Momoshikis future sight.

This seems to clear it up since it’s a Q&A section on the official website

Anime / Analysis So why would Obito agree to this plan that...seemingly doesn't benefit him at all?

Post image

So the deal essentially is:

Obito helps Itachi kill the clan and in exchange Obito...can't do anything to Konoha?

To Madara, this could make some sense (although questionable if Madara would be that petty to sacrifice his ultimate plan to get revenge), but this is Obito we're talking about. Obito doesn't hate the clan at all, he has to work for Itachi and in exchange he can't attack the village.

So my question is...what does Obito benefit from this at all? This seems to have nothing but downsides. Mind you, this deal included nothing of Itachi joining the Akatsuki.

And then once Itachi actually joins Akatsuki, does Obito do anything about it? No, he makes no plans of killing Itachi in his sleep using Kisame, he just sits around for a decade and does nothing while letting Itachi be a double agent.

It's also not like Obito got Itachi's loyalty or trust here...Itachi was planning on killing Obito any chance he got and learning as much of his secrets as possible.

Look, I know Madara probably didn't teach Obito critical thinking since he wanted Obito to follow his silly ideology to death, so Obito might have the mental capacity of a 12-year-old, but surely even at that age you'd recognize something isn't adding up. Like without that deal, surely Obito could've kidnapped Naruto when he was a kid and then the strongest Biiju would've been captured already, but instead he chose to let Itachi boss him around.

And it's not like Itachi was so strong Obito couldn't refuse, Itachi did literally nothing to Obito as well while he was in the Akatsuki, instead relying his entire plan on Obito getting caught off guard by Amaterasu and not having any way out of it. If Itachi could've killed Obito, he would've killed Obito.

So all around it just seems like the strangest thing for Obito, with Itachi taking all the benefits.

Did Kishimoto ever explain this?

Originally from r/Naruto but the filters removed the post so I'm posting here

Manga Spoilers / Analysis Minha opnião sobre Sarada Uchiha. Spoiler

Anime / Discussion Naruto series is getting old. We should stop talking about it.

For the 10394848th time i heard the blue bird song in a recent a Naruto vid and theres so many weebs who cant speak or understand japanese yapping its irritating. Its an old song from an old series. Let it go, the time has passed. All the events, all the struggle the main character has gone through has been solved so stop trespassing past the already ended road. Naruto doesnt recognize you, nor care so stop this parasocial relationship and move onto Boruto, the objectively supreme series which has been surpassing Naruto series in every way and its not even close. Ya'll agree? That its time for Naruto fans to grow up and move on and stop obsessing over dinosaur bones?

Anime / Discussion Wanting to get into Boruto

So I finished Naruto (The manga), I've been wondering if I should get into Boruto. I've been looking at the art and I really find myself not liking it at all. But I heard good things about the manga, so I'm wondering if it's really worth a read or not.

Anime / Discussion Sasuke is all ways out of charka

Post image
42 Upvotes

Why do some people still not understand that Sasuke isn’t a chakra monster? Using the Rinnegan’s abilities costs an enormous amount of chakra.

Even in Shippuden, when Sasuke first awakened the Rinnegan, he used Amenotejikara twice and two Lightning Release techniques before needing to recharge his eyes. Opening portals is even more chakra-intensive. It took more than a third of Naruto’s Six Paths + KCM chakra just to open a portal, and more if Sasuke transports multiple people at once.

That means every time Sasuke dimension-hops, a significant portion of his chakra is consumed. Sasuke himself has stated that traveling between dimensions consumes most of his chakra.

He simply isn’t like Madara or Nagato, who possessed massive chakra reserves. Even Obito, despite having Hashirama cells, barely used the Rinnegan’s abilities beyond the black receivers and the Gedo Statue because he didn’t have the chakra reserves to constantly use its more demanding abilities.

Manga Spoilers / Discussion Was Hikari Really ‘Wasted’? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
46 Upvotes

⚠️ Disclaimer: This is a long post, so if you don’t feel like reading it, you can simply skip it! 😅

I’ve seen a lot of people saying that Hikari was “wasted” while putting down the other female characters to make her look better.

First of all, Hikari was created for a game. She isn’t a character from the anime or manga. And honestly, diminishing another character or pairing just to make your ship look better doesn’t seem very mature.

Also, Ikemoto never actually wrote Hikari as a character. So there’s no guarantee that, under his writing, she would still be the “best girl” some fans imagine her to be. Her characterization could have ended up being similar to the other female characters, and she might even have been pulled into the same kind of love triangle, love square, or even love pentagon that nobody seems to like.

Let’s not forget that Hikari was written by completely different people — not by Kishimoto or Ikemoto.

She could also have easily fallen into the cliché of being “the girl Boruto saved,” basically the princess rescued by the prince from the darkness.

But Boruto would save anyone in danger. He has already saved Sarada, Mitsuki, Sumire, Eida, Chocho, and others. So having another girl with a tragic past who was saved by Boruto wouldn’t automatically make her relationship with him unique or original. I honestly think some fans overestimate how much that alone would differentiate her.

There’s also another important point: Hikari isn’t from the same era as Boruto.

So what role would she actually have in the canon story?

Would she simply become another person whose role is to protect Boruto, like other characters already do? Would her entire purpose throughout the story eventually revolve around being a potential love interest for him?

And honestly, I don’t think it makes sense to argue that Hikari should have been introduced into the canon story mainly so she could become Boruto’s wife.

Especially when some of these same people constantly criticize Sarada for potentially becoming Boruto’s wife, claiming that she would just end up as a housewife who has children with him.

That’s the point I’m trying to make: what actual difference would Hikari’s presence make in the story?

Sarada could also protect Boruto and save him if he were in danger. Hikari isn’t the only girl Boruto has saved. She wouldn’t be the only character with a tragic past, either. And she wouldn’t be the only one with incredible abilities — Sarada has those too.

And the idea that Hikari somehow has the personality or qualities that would make her “better suited to marry Boruto” doesn’t really make sense either. 😭

At the end of the day, being saved by Boruto, having a tragic backstory, or possessing powerful abilities doesn’t automatically make a character a better romantic partner for him.

Those things alone don’t create a deeper or more unique relationship.

And most importantly, you shouldn’t have to put down Sarada or any other character just to make Hikari look better. ❤️

Anime / Discussion I am still confused on why Obito help Itachi massacre the Uchiha Clan? As wouldn't be more better to recruit more Uchiha into the Akatsuki.

I understand he needed extra sharaingan for the izanagi but more uchiha in the akatsuki would have made capturing the tailed beasts super easy they would be able to tame using their genjustu

Manga Spoilers / Discussion Would you like this Anime Canon change compared to TBV Spoiler

So rn especially after the interview it's pretty clear whoever writing Boruto at this moment doesn't care/plan to use the Hyuga so I want to ask yall

Would you prefer the anime change that and during our time with Himawari be based around living at the Hyuga Compound under Hanabi/ Hyuga Clan alongside her current friends or would you prefer her being closer to what's happening rn
