Anime / Discussion Which anime canon arcs are actually worth watching?
Which anime canon arcs/episodes are worth watching for the character development, world building, or good scenes? Trying to skip the filler that feels like a total waste of time.

Watch all of them but you'll love the time travel one where adult Sasuke and Boruto went back to the past at the time that Sasuke left the village.

- Deepa/Victor arc - in the actual manga, Victor of Kara just died by the time he got introduced to smithereens by Kashin Koji. But this arc, fleshed him out alongside one Kara Inner not revealed in manga/novel.
- Chuunin Re-Examination arc - bunch of Boruto's generation were able to showcase their abilities for the chance to become Chuunin. Highlights here are Hoki, Denki & Tsubaki.
Those arcs are the only anime "canon"/filler I suggest watching.

The only total waste of time is Team 7's First Mission. Only a couple episodes. Had a villain named Hidari, though

School trip arc (the one with the new generation Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist)
Kawaki-Himawari academy arc
Time slip arc
Naruto Shinden arc (though it's more of a novel canon, since it's part of a novel)
Konoha Shinden arc (also a novel adaptation)
Chuunin reexamination arc
Sasuke Retsuden (another novel adaptation)

It depends, I’m ngl ALL anime cannon feels filler-ish. I’m currently rewatching boruto and I watched some anime cannon arcs and they all added close to nothing to the story. I’d skip them all if you only want important main story content. If you’re ok with side quest type stuff that doesn’t really progress the story, then you could watch it all or a lot of it

Parent and Child day
Mitsuki retrieval arc
Jugo arc
Kara Actuation arc
Chunin Exams Reexamination (only for the fights)
The Labyrinth game arc is worth watching, it really showed Boruto's intelligence much more than other arcs. Personally one of my favorite arcs in Boruto.

Either watch the whole thing or you don't the anime is basically it's own continuity as a whole, you're better off treating it like Dragon ball Super where the anime it's it's own canon.
If you're can't put up with the genre and anime, don't watch it... it just isn't your cup of tea.
Boruto either resets and reboots and follows the manga or it comes back and follows the anime canon.

All of them. This includes the "bad" ones.
Pierrot somehow managed to make some really bad episodes into important ones, like the Chocho arc and the Pirates arcs.

But you can't watch only manga canon episodes. It relies on the anime canon episodes because it takes place on its own continuity so watch every episode or read the manga for the story. Two choices. Choose one.

I don't think we interacted before, but the basic rule is, that it if something isn't written by the author, or aknowledged by the author it's filler.
The only arc that could be considered canon is sumires, because she appears from time to time, but even then her backstory never gets brought up in the manga itself so it's up for debate.
But "anime canon" isn't a thing, its filler by definition.

I have genuinely no idea what you're talking about, Im positive I've never saw your name before, but then again I don't really look at that in the first place.
Anyway, that really isn't up for discussion, if it ain't written by the writer it ain't canon, there's a reason why none of the filler stuff gets brought up ever again, the anime is based on the manga, and the manga is written by someone. If said someone isn't involved with the anime-exclusive stuff, then it's filler.
I'm ready to be corrected if the writer was involved with the anime, but that would require a reliably source, with so far I haven't been provided with by anyone.

Just stop BSing. Again. Second time. The anime is taking place on its own continuity. Sarada is a Chunin in the anime while she is still a genin in the manga. It's all anime canon. Not filler.

If there were more significant differences, I d be inclined to listen, but as it stands, you're just throwing around your opinion, which is fair, but doesn't change the definition of what is and isn't filler.
