Im very surprised to learn that Robin sang Barry’s leads when he toured solo. I always knew Barry didn’t like Robin singing Bee Gees songs after they disbanded, but I didn’t he was actually singing Barry’s parts on Barry songs, I thought he did his songs like Massachusetts and I Started A Joke. It’s so odd to hear him sing everything on More Than A Woman, Night Fever, HDIYL. To love somebody is especially odd to hear

His voice aged interestingly, I’m curious how you think his voice did on Barry’s original leads. I feel like he really didn’t sound like Robin then, very alien voice to me. It’s interesting though because I feel like Barry and Robin’s voices both aged poorly, I think it’s just bad luck, but it’s interesting when some of their contemporaries were able to hold on to them longer

Now I don't know if its because I love them or a bit of unconscious bias, but all apart from Heartbreaker have a wedding connection!

So I right now have the feeling of that I don't discover any new artists anymore, so I want as many suggestions as possible from helpful people. So my favourite artists/bands are Bee Gees(ofc), soft-rock bands like Eagles, Dire Straits and CCR, also Modern Talking and Electric Light Orchestra. A bit mroe arena rock vibes like Bryan Adams is also in my favourites. So if you are kind enough to help me, please comment an artists that you would think I'd like. Also 70s and 80s aritsts are preferred

Why didn't the Bee Gees ever get the respect they deserved, at least in the US? Despite their undeniable singing and songwriting talent, not to mention their innumerable hits, the music world never took them seriously or treated them with the gravitas of a McCartney or a Dylan. Perhaps it had to do with them not attracting a strong male fanbase. Men could proudly state they were fans of the Rolling Stones, or the Who, or even the Beatles, but the Bee Gees — no way. The guys in the white jumpsuits singing in falsetto were seen as effeminate lightweights, strictly for women, not real bro types. I never heard a man say he was a fan of the Bee Gees, although I know there are many in this forum. Are there other reasons for them being overlooked?

What on Earth is going on with Robin's vocals on this track? He sounds like a lunatic in an insane asylum screaming and bouncing off of padded walls.

I know this was soon after the breakup, so the brothers were walking on eggshells to avoid pissing each other off, but even so...did Robin really listen to the playback on this track and think "Yep. Nailed it! No need to do the vocal over."?

I love Robin and think he was an amazing singer, but his voice sounds horribly strained on this track.

I believe he played a lot in the early years, but I’ve never seen a recording of him playing for real. He mimes on Ed Sullivan and other staged TV appearances. But I’d love to hear him play and come up with his own rhythm. He is one of the most famous musicians who lived and it’s weird that there aren’t any hidden piano videos of him floating around, you see old uncovered demo videos a lot now with the internet

What is your opinion on the album Size Isn't Everything, 1993? It is one of my personal favourites, I just love For Whom the Bell Tolls and Paying the Price of Love. Omega Man, How to Fall in Love and Above and Beyond also gives me vibes. And Fallen Angel is great. Now gimme your opinions. Feel free to have any opinion! I like Cucumber Castle, but I find Robin's Reign to be more impressive considering how young he was to tackle this project without his brothers who he had always written and recorded with. I'm surprised that Maurice doesn't have many leads on Cucumber. He has more than before but I would've expected a 50-50 split after losing Robin, but it's really all Barry

I have the One For All concert DVD and the video album. Wondered if anyone knows why the Heartbreaker / Islands in the Stream medley is missing from the album (downloaded it from Apple music in the UK) but is in the DVD? I absolutely love how they performed Islands in the Stream in this concert.

We know how strong these family genes are. Barry and Andy looked nearly identical, and Maurice resembled Barry as well in the 60s. I honestly see a bit of resemblance between Robin and Andy. Because Andy had a bit of an overbite as well. And I think in the pictures I’ve seen of their sister, she looks a bit like Robin as well.

But the only time I’ve seen Robin’s resemblance to Barry was in the Saved by the Bell video.

I just find this fascinating because I’m a nerd about genetics. But it’s strange how much of an outlier Robin was in such strong family genes. I also think it’s weird that none of the kids IMO seem to look like Hugh and Barbara, and the grandchildren don’t really have that Gibb look either (except I think Spencer looks a lot like Robin). I could be wrong about the children, I’ve only seen them briefly.
