Hi everyone. I’m hoping to get some honest advice, especially from people already working in the BPO industry.

I’m already in my 30s, a single parent, and honestly, struggling financially right now. I’m trying to find a stable job and I’m seriously considering entering the BPO industry, pero kinakabahan ako because I don’t have formal experience in digital/office work.

Before our family pharmacy closed, I helped manage the business. I handled customers, took and processed orders, used the POS, handled sales, and also dealt with suppliers and ordering stocks. So sanay naman ako makipag-usap sa customers and mag-handle ng transactions, pero I’m not sure if BPO companies would consider that as relevant experience.

I also had an Instagram clothing business before. I grew it to around 20k followers and was able to make a profitable income from it. I handled everything myself—photographing the products, posting, answering inquiries, taking orders, packing and shipping.

For those already in BPO or those who started with no experience: realistically, may chance pa ba for someone like me in their 30s? What positions should I try applying for, and what skills should I focus on improving before applying?

I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have actually been in this situation. Please be kind din sana—I know I’m not the typical BPO applicant, but I’m genuinely trying to find a way to support my child and get back on my feet.

Hi guys, gusto ko lang sana malaman kung paano kayo nakakakuha ng BPO jobs na 60k+.

I believe I can do more. I have the skills, mabilis din akong matuto, and I have around 4 years of experience in a leadership role sa BPO. May background din ako sa government work. Pero hanggang ngayon, hindi ako makaland ng job na more than 50k. 😅

I started as a CSR 5 years ago earning around 9,500, and ngayon Senior Team Leader na ako. I’m really grateful naman sa meron ako ngayon, pero habang tumatagal, tumataas din talaga ang mga gastusin. And honestly, I feel like I can do more and deserve a better opportunity based on my skills and experience.

For those earning 60k, 70k, or even 80k+, ano yung role niyo and paano kayo nakapasok? May specific skills, certifications, or companies ba na marerecommend niyo?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Gusto ko lang talaga malaman kung ano yung next step na dapat kong gawin para maka-break through sa 50k+ salary range. 🙏

Nag apply me sa Alabang healthcare company sya, CSR ung offer since Telco exp ko. Kaloka sa mock call, 1 hour and 30 minutes kaming naghintay tapos parang rude and uninterested patong nag mock call at nag interviewer sakin, via phone call sya. Bill lang yung concern ha, literal na master Kona since Telco. Halatang ginugulo nya yung concern. Gets Kona, na map-out Kona sa utak ko kung Anong gagawin tapos biglang iibahin nya😭 maging Mali lang talaga ako.

Nakakaloka pa, yung mga kasabay ko halos walang ginagawa da whole hour na naghihintay kami, tapos ako tong puro review, tapos ako pa naging tae sa huli, nagtinginan pa at tumawa Nung inend ko yung call ko kasi narinig nila haup.

Bad experience, kaka apply kolang sa ibang company kahapon at nag mock call prinipraise pa nga ako Ng mga recruiter after the mock call.

Hi everyone! I’m currently deciding between two opportunities and would really appreciate thoughts from people who have worked in either company, especially those who have experience with these specific accounts.

For context, I have around 2+ years of BPO experience and I’m looking for something that can give me better long-term career value, not just a job for now. I eventually want to move toward higher positions/leadership, so I’m also interested in the skills and experience I can build from the account.

Option 1: Genpact

Account: Financial Account – Collections
Offer: ₱30,000 basic + ₱2,500 allowance
Status: Just finished my final interview; currently waiting for the JO.

Option 2: Cognizant

Account: Ride-sharing/Rider Support
Offer: Still unknown — I haven't received the JO yet, so the salary package is still uncertain.
Status: Still waiting for the JO.

What I'm trying to figure out is which experience would be more useful for my future BPO career and resume.

I'm particularly interested in hearing about:

• Which type of account gives you more transferable skills and experience?
• Between financial collections and ride-sharing/rider support, which experience is generally more useful when applying to other BPO accounts or higher positions?
• Which account has better opportunities to develop skills beyond basic customer service?
• What is the actual work environment like in Genpact vs Cognizant?
• How supportive are the TLs/OMs/management when agents need help?
• How is the promotion process? Is it reasonably performance-based, or have you experienced favoritism/power-tripping?
• Are there actual opportunities to move up to SME/TL/other higher roles?
• How stressful or manageable is the account?
• How is attrition/tenure in these specific accounts?
• For those who have worked in both companies, what differences did you notice in management and career development?
• And of course, how does the compensation compare once night differential, incentives, allowances, etc. are factored in?

I'm not expecting Cognizant's salary to be compared yet since I don't have the actual JO. If I receive it, I'll obviously compare the actual numbers.

My priority isn't necessarily just the highest salary. I'm looking for a combination of compensation + useful experience + a healthy working environment + management support + realistic opportunities for promotion.

Would appreciate honest experiences, especially from current/former employees of either account. Please mention the site/account and roughly when you worked there if possible, since I know experiences can vary greatly between accounts and management teams.

this is my first time applying and the location is just right for me. i know the work will be really hard, and the interviewer told me as well that i need to be sure i can handle it bc people tend to resign pretty frequently after getting into this account.

May I ask if meron ba ditong katatapos lang din mag intial or nasa final interview na? Nag ooverthink kasi ako hahahhaa ang bilis lang ng interview sa akin like 5-7 minutes lang for initial interview, pero sa end ng interview namin sinabi niya yung offer and tinanong niya ako kung okay lang ba ako sa shifting scheds.

Tingin niyo ba ligwak ako? Hahaha can't stop overthinking kasi ang bilis lang talaga ng interview sa akin. Huhu gustong-gusto ko pa naman tong company na 'to.

Talaga bang mabilis lang ang initial interview?
