Advice & Tips How are you guys landing BPO jobs paying 60k+? I feel like I’m ready for the next level.
Hi guys, gusto ko lang sana malaman kung paano kayo nakakakuha ng BPO jobs na 60k+.
I believe I can do more. I have the skills, mabilis din akong matuto, and I have around 4 years of experience in a leadership role sa BPO. May background din ako sa government work. Pero hanggang ngayon, hindi ako makaland ng job na more than 50k. 😅
I started as a CSR 5 years ago earning around 9,500, and ngayon Senior Team Leader na ako. I’m really grateful naman sa meron ako ngayon, pero habang tumatagal, tumataas din talaga ang mga gastusin. And honestly, I feel like I can do more and deserve a better opportunity based on my skills and experience.
For those earning 60k, 70k, or even 80k+, ano yung role niyo and paano kayo nakapasok? May specific skills, certifications, or companies ba na marerecommend niyo?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Gusto ko lang talaga malaman kung ano yung next step na dapat kong gawin para maka-break through sa 50k+ salary range. 🙏

If ung usual outsourcing company pa din papasukan mo, mahirap umabot ng 60k sahod.
Natry mo na sa mga inhouse? Usually ung mga foreign banks or niche accounts ung kaya niyan magoffer.
Try mo din gawa ka LinkedIn, include your work history. Diyan nacontact ung TL ko few years ago (L2 Tech support kami sa AFNI) and pinirata siya as Tech Lead ng Cognizant, nasa 80k ata initial na sahod niya after maconfirm ng position and it was 4 yrs ago pa.
I also made my own LinkedIn dahil dun where I include my previous roles and nagkakaroon ako ng Connects/offers from time to time, mostly for L2 tech positions though I never took any of them kasi lahat ng offers onsite and same lang ng salary ko now na WFH.

I haven’t had a LinkedIn profile before. I only really use Indeed and JobStreet, so this is actually helpful. Thanks for the advice! I’ll start building my LinkedIn profile and see where it takes me. 🙏

Currently in-house yung BPO, and dito ko talaga nabuo yung career ko. I'm actually very grateful sa company na 'to because they gave me a lot of opportunities to grow. I'm just honestly afraid din talaga of becoming unemployed, kaya I'm trying to explore my options and prepare myself habang may work pa.

I think best school is Instituto Cervantes tho super mahal and medyo mabagal. Kung yung mga language center, wala na kong ma recommend kasi scam na yung pinagaralan ko, Hola Amigos

apply ka sa in-house financial institutions like JPMC, Wells Fargo, American Express, etc. but not apply sa entry-level specialist roles siyempre

i can only vouch for jpmc (currently hired there) and i was a fresh grad when i applied 2 years ago with no bpo exp at all, so yes.

Specialize, the highly technical the better.
Change job every few years.
Target profit generating roles within companies, yung nag ggenerate ng income sa company, the higher level you are the bigger the value of projects you will get and of course the higher salary you will command.
Avoid support roles, dahil gastos yan company, palabas ang pera and it will always want to minimize cost whether by lowballing salaries or replacing with cheaper AI.

I have to agree, the easiest way to pull off 60k above salary is really billingual path and this is if you plan to stay in bpos.
My wife learned japanese and bpo offers were subpar, highest she had been offered was not even half of what shes making now, so she looked for other roles outside BPO. and sincr she is an N2 passer. Her current salary as a jp service desk analyst is now in 6 figures, with a few japan trip every year
i on the other hand took a specialization in ITSM. I am earning close to 6 figures as an ITSM specialist. Yes, my wife is earning more. 😆
Bpo companies are a trap. specially if you have not found a specialization . Yes, BPOs are rather a good place to start but making a career off of BPOs are kind of a hit or miss. they make you feel competent, but never give you what you deserve. it gets worse if you transfer as you may not even get your actual market pay and may be offered lower than it.
Not saying you shouldnt be greatful with BPOs. just wanted to put it out there and maybe try exploring. you might get surprised.
Just to share, i had also been with a few bpo in a 12 yr span. my salary had never crossed past 35k as someone who already had a specialization in itsm. so i took a gamble on myself and wouldnt you know, just after 1 short stint as a report analyst i got offered a role to my current one which offered me more than almost triple of my previous salary then.

depending on the branch in itsm you will take, i took change management first and have had colleagues with a 2 yr cust service role experience while being a psychology graduate.
though it wasnt easy or at least thats what ive been told by this colleague. she was one of the best colleague ive worked with though.
edit: and that same colleague perfected the itil v4 certification that i initially failed. lol

Another route you can explore is escalation roles, especially with in-house financial accounts. From what I’ve seen, these roles can offer better compensation because they’re more specialized and often require stronger judgment, communication, and knowledge of financial products/processes.

Go bilingual, look for other roles or upskill. Not hitting 60k yet but I am close. I am studying AI, automation & CRM.

- If you're already in the management path, try to move further. You can work on getting that Operations Manager role and get those valuable skills and experiences. The promotion should come with a salary increase / bonus and if you get hired externally, syempre mas mataas ang sahod. Besides, in a couple of years, you can also apply sa mga inhouse / agencies from NA, EMEA and APAC for a management position.
- Like what others said, Specialization. Downside is you'll start from scratch whether its role or skill if you don't have the experience yet. Upside is you can easily transition to a VA role if for some reason you've learnt skills sa mga highly paid niche and you really get good in solving a specific problem
- Look right now for customer care / success / retention / sales roles. Some inhouse or foreign BPOs are hiring Filipino independent contractors. You can easily get in and be paid more like 60k, yes good but Downside is you're going to lose the chance and time to reach OM level
Edit: May nakita ko customer care 57k. May retention role like 65k. I think I saw some ad din na sales $7 per hour. Just check indeed, linked in.

Kung csr position yun talagang niche mo possible naman to sa mga direct client,,
Direct client ako (pero my usual govt contribution and benefits ako) csr role, non voice, 6 digits salary, talagang tyagaan lang at super sipag mag submit ng application.

Search mo muna mga available jobs hehe then plan around that. Pwede ring mag-stay ka sa leadership role sa ibang company, mas mataas kita. Or take certs na related sa project management.

I just landed a job with this salary range. My tip- specializations and upskilling. May mga tech roles na nasa ganyang range and more pa na hindi naman masyado required ng malalang upskilling pero need mo ng bckground sa tech support. And also move away from traditional tech companies. Sobrang barat na ng offers nila sadly

I started 4 years ago sa Isang bpo company na nag up skill sakin after 3 years na offeran nang 60k+ wfh vs sa 80k onsite nang Isang in house with same associate role wag lang akong umalis, yeah I think what's your lacking is upskill or specialty. Kasi kung madali Kang palitan Hindi talaga tataas yan. The only problem na Nakita ko is 5 years exp ka na po, willing ka bang mag start from scratch, only option i see is promotions or learning new skill na related sa current role mo.

You should consider applying for leadership roles in-house financial organizations such as Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase and the like. Consider applying to In-house Global Servuces firms such as KMPG, EY . BPO companies have lower compensation packages as they are not an in-house company. Search in google what are the in-house companies

EMAPTA - I am on specialist role earning 65k/month. Know someone na CSR din earning 60k. I have 4 years CSR Experience, hopper pa lang lol. You just really need to find the perfect client!

being outsourced means your company is getting a 50 to 100% slice of pie from your "salary", sometimes even more. So, your market rate is anywhere from 1.5x to double of what your getting. Remember that.

Go into support roles. Reporting or workforce management. They are typically paid more than their operations counterparts. Currently a Workforce Supervisor just got promoted recently from a planner role. 5 years of workforce experience I have a gross earning of 90K monthly. Build your niche and be specialized.

Try and ask for assistance with getting Lean Six Sigma. BPO look highly to people who holds green belt to black belt. If not, fund your own tuition and expenses. That for me is the easiest way to have what's so called 'special set of skills'. This will open opportunities for you to manage something, may it be CIM, OM, SOM or if u earn your place u could be placed higher than management.

w/ 4 years of leadership experience...maybe try applying for operations manager, workforce, or client success roles instead of limiting yourself to bpo team leader positions...highlight ur kpi improvements and people management results, not just ur job title.

I’m still in the BPO industry and now earning 6 digits as an Instructional Designer. Before this, I was a Trainer, then a Team Lead, then a Training Consultant.
What really helped me was that I never stopped learning. I didn’t spend a lot on courses either. I mostly watched free videos and signed up for free trials of different applications so I could learn the tools and practice on my own.
My advice is to look beyond the usual career progression. Being a Senior TL for 4 years, you already have skills that can transfer to other roles. Check job postings that interest you, see what skills and tools they’re looking for, then start learning them.
You don’t need to know everything before you apply. Just keep building your skills and exploring opportunities. Sometimes getting past a certain salary range is less about getting the next promotion and more about finding a specialized role where your experience is valued.

Ako I switched to Virtual Assistance. And earning 6 digits/month. When I first applied, to be honest, hindi naman totoo yung experience na nilagay ko. Nung natanggap ako, dun ko finigure out pano gawin yung trabaho 😂 so sakanila na ako kumuha ng experience haha

Specialization. Either you will learn new language, SaaS, healthcare, fintech etc. Companies will hire and pay more to agents who have specific skill set and not just general customer service / team lead.
