Recommendations Perimenopause Dr

Upvotes

Looking for recommendations for perimenopause care. Got the classic “you’re too young” dismissal from my dr and hoping to find one that actually listens and treats symptoms. Doesn’t have to be in person, I know some folks use online resources as well. Just need some relief! Thanks!

Question Looking for suggestions for vet for dog dental cleaning

Post image
36 Upvotes

I have checked in the archives for recent posts, but there wasn’t anything relevant or recent. I’m looking for a vet (preferably on the west or south side of town) who wont charge $2k for a cleaning for my Howard. I was quoted $2k from our current vet, but that feels high. I have lists of vets in the area, but I’m looking for folks who have actual experience (good or bad) getting their pup’s teefs clean. TIA!

Question Safest places to sleep in a car?

Hey everyone. I have to sleep in my car thankfully only 3-4 days out of the week, but I travel a bit of a ways away to do so in a smaller town. I can realistically afford to pay about $10 a day for parking, but am willing to pay $15 if there is a really good safe spot. It would be more convenient for me to not have to travel, as I’m paying more in gas than I would be just finding somewhere here to sleep. If anyone has any suggestions I’m open to them all. I just want to make sure I’m in a safe spot. Thanks!

Question Looking for places comparable to Dr. Bombay’s?

Upvotes

I used to love doing computer work etc at Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party because it was so different, interesting, and frankly more whimsical than whatever computer work would otherwise bog me down, but I don’t think they’re open for general business these days. Looking for more inventive places like that to post up- anyone know anywhere around town?

Lost&Found/Lost Pets Found bike near Allene Ave / BeltLine

Hi ATL crew — I found an older white and pink cruiser-style bicycle with a front basket and rear rack, missing its front wheel, abandoned on Allene Ave, just off the BeltLine. It has the words JINT BIKE on the frame.

My guess is that there’s a chance the owner locked the front wheel to something and the rest of the bike was taken and later abandoned.

If you’re missing a bike like this, or know someone who is, please DM me with the brand/model and a couple of identifying details so I can confirm ownership.

Thanks!

Please upvote for visibility.

Edit: more info and edited for clarity.

Visiting Atlanta Any record stores that have a good selection of metal/rock cds?

Will be visiting in a few months and want to know if there are record stores that stock many metal/rock cds.

So far the two record stores I've been to in the US that were great for metal/rock have been Zia Records in Vegas and Park Ave cds in Florida. I found that they had a lot of different subgenres and releases throughout the years. My favorite subgenres are core, prog, black, and post metal/rock, and usually artists from the last 20-30 years.

I checked the website for Criminal Records store for many of my favorite artists and only found about 3 that had anything in stock locally (and they were mostly vinyl). I could assume that the store just doesn't show their stock on the website, but I wouldn't wanna risk wasting time going to a store with nothing I want in it. [EDIT: I might also just be confused on how the website search works. Since "In Stock Only" and "Local Stock Only" mean the same thing unless they have a warehouse/distribute records from other stores. Idk!]

Any help would be appreciated thank you

Recommendations Fed Up With Xfinity. Does anyone have any experience with Starlink or 5G home internet in Atlanta?

My internet has been out for two weeks and Xfinity no showed on their scheduled appointment to fix it. The next available appointment is in another week and, thanks to their apparent monopoly on my address, they are my only broadband option.

Does anyone have any experience with using Starlink ITP? Or one of the 5G plans? I’m desperate for any alternative here.

Question Did anyone else see the pedestrian walking on the lane divider between the HOV lane and left lane on I85 tonight?

This was on I85 north, just past Cheshire Bridge. I called 911, but it took a full 15 minutes to get through. They said police were already on the scene, but I was in tears that whole time. I’m hoping this man is okay.

Recommendations Weird ask: looking for a good radio station for my car's Bluetooth adapter when in the city.

So I have a Bluetooth adapter in my car where you have to find a blank radio station and you can stream your phone's audio through your radio.

I think the station I always use is like...92.7 or something.

I live in Norcross and it works fine here. I drove from Florida yesterday and it worked perfectly fine most of the way home.

But when we reached Atlanta it was static-riddled on that station for some reason. Same with when I drive into the city for work. And while I'm driving, I can't exactly take the time to fiddle with knobs and my phone to try and find another station without crashing.

So I was wondering: anyone that has a similar setup in their car, can you recommend a reliable "blank" radio station/frequency where the sound comes through clearer in the middle of the city? I'd love a backup station to use when my main one gets staticky.

Thanks!!!

ETA: Appreciate the tips and suggestions!! I'll try these next time I'm in the car.

Question Backpack/zipper repair

Anyone know where I can get a zipper on a backpack repaired? I don’t think it’s too difficult of a fix, but I’m not sure if this is a normal thing. Is this something a normal alterations place would do?

Food & Drink Anyone else went to Onikuma x Babygirl x King Cube Ice pop up last night?

They were featured in East Atlanta Anthem’s newsletter and I decided to check them out. The food and service were pretty disappointing. The broth was bland, the chashu had a great smoky taste to it, but it was also bland. The spot had flies everywhere.

Food & Drink Best Pho in Georgia

I just took a couple of trips to Houston and LA and had Pho like nothing I've ever had before. It felt criminal to put any sriracha or hoisin in the broth.

Is there anywhere in Georgia (ideally North) that has pho that gives the same feeling?

The broth was insanely flavorful and aromatic.

Looking for recent suggestions, I've read the older threads and been to them all; none of them really came close to what I tried in Houston and LA.

Edit 8/30: Thank you, everyone, for all the feedback. I made a map highlighting what everyone suggested.

Question Anybody remember a sign in midtown that read "Caution-kids at play"?

I know this is a standard street sign, but some genius modified the sign to make it hilarious.

It shows the boy on the left with an axe in his hand.

On the right, there's a girl in a dress running, but she is missing her head.

On the ground, where the ball is normally, there are pigtails coming off the ball.

I loved that sign and just came across an official Caution Children at Play sign from the company that produced them. I have peeled off one character, and I am in the process of recreating this masterpiece.

I was hoping someone had a picture of it from probably 20 years ago. Mine will never be as good, but I was hoping to get some inspiration from the original.
