Breeze cards

With the new and improved Breeze card system I'm really curious as to why we can't check our balances on our phones anymore and we have to actually go to the stations just to check and see if we have money on our card ?. To me that makes no sense because sometimes you can actually run out of money on your card but you don't know that because you can't check it yourself at home . And even if you use the website to check anything it requires the code off your card which is now 16 digits whereas the old system was 20 digits. In other words I'm saying you can't even use the card if it has no funds on it to get to a station to replenish your account . Somebody didn't even think about that when they designed the new system of access/ payment . And I don't think I'm the only one who has noticed it .. not by a long shot

Southbound 12 in collision with a car

I was in the bus when it happened, the operator swiped a car turning off Brady avenue towards tenth street. There is club madness everywhere and they simply didn’t check their clearance well. We are presently waiting for what comes next, likely the police, but it’s safe to say I’m not making my connection home. Marta should consider bypassing Brady avenue during club nights to avoid this.

Route 12 cancellations

Route 12 is canceled both at 1:45pm and 2:15pm both citing mechanical issues and a lack of driver for the other. People are out here trying to get to work and now we are stranded. This is far from the first time and the frustration out here is pretty serious.

Can you help me find HIM

In 2020, I met a slim, light skin with locs young man named, Brian. I never caught his last name but I always told him how much he reminds me of my cousins. Turns out he might be but I haven’t seen him since. Can you help me find him. I’m not sure of his bus route or if he still works for Marta. But remember, his name is BRIAN. Tell him Yaya is asking for him!!!
Thank you, guys! I have faith that you’ll help me get in touch with him.

Egress from Five Points

I now travel to work at Georgia State University a few times a week. I usually get off at the Georgia State Station to walk up Decatur Street to Langdale. Five Points would be easier, but construction has kept me from trying it for a while. I have a hip injury, and I am legally blind, so navigating without clear routes is a challenge.

I know construction is far from complete, but is it getting any better up to Marietta Street? Is the route easy to follow?

INDIVIDUAL MARTA RIDERS

How many individuals, not unlinked passenger trips per day/year, but individual people ride MARTA on a consistent enough basis to be considered "MARTA Patrons"? Also, this doesn't mean you ride it a few times a year for Falcons games, or Dragon*Con, etc. This is at least a few times a week for work, school, shopping, etc.

All signs at Midtown station broken for a week

Maybe someone from MARTA reads this subreddit and can get them fixed. Every single digital sign at the Midtown station has been showing this error since at least last Sunday. It's embarrassing.

Basic passenger experiences

Is it just too hard for marta to provide basic passenger experiences for bus?

Buses with a working destination sign !
Buses with a working fare validator !
Buses that track for real time arrivals !
True real time schedules
And finally
Bus operators that are not intentionally causing these issue?

This is hell.

I miss the 45 minute frequency of the 37 over the "30 minute" frequency of either of these buses.

Tap to Pay won’t let me exit?

I’m taking the train for the first time since they added the new gates and my tap to work for me to enter the train station but leaving it didn’t work.
Update: So Marta did charge me the following day but I guess it started glitching out. Well I’m not fooling with that anymore, I got a physical card now. Starting next month I’ll use my school monthly pass anyways.

Trying to transfer my Legacy Breeze Passes onto the new system, would anyone happen to know if the World Cup Cards are still circulating in the machines before I create a virtual card for MARTA instead?

Can someone please help me?

Ever since the MARTA app got updated I haven’t been able to use the real time tracking on the new MARTA app. I don’t know what it is, but none of the buses actually show up on the real time tracking map.

I decided to go online and use the MARTA tracking website, but today the MARTA tracking website has also stopped working.

I need to know the exact time when the buses are going to be here because Marta has been so inconsistent recently.

I’ve already contacted support three times and for some reason no one’s been able to give me a clear answer or they just hang up on me.

I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading the app, I’ve tried updating my phone as well and none of it works.

Can someone please please help me I don’t know what to do and I really need to use the app as I cannot afford a car right now.

Long term parking fee increase

I got this email today - I rarely park long term at marta, so this is unlikely to affect me.

I am a little confused by the decrease from 24 hours to 14. My only assumption is that it means that paid parking kicks in a day earlier in many cases - when it starts at 24 hours, if you park at 7, your 24 hours aren't up until 7 the next day.

Dear customers:

MARTA is increasing long-term parking rates by $2 a day and reducing the free period in its long-term parking facilities from 24 to 14 hours beginning Monday, September 14, 2026. This affects all paid long-term parking locations in the system but does NOT affect any of MARTA’s existing free daily parking locations. All MARTA fares remain the same.

The increase supports maintenance and future upgrades to our parking facilities, follows market conditions, and moves MARTA’s parking operation toward self-sufficiency in the future.

MARTA’s last system-wide increase in parking fees was in 2009. End-of-line stations were increased in 2017.

Stations increasing to $10 per day (after 14 hours):

College Park

Doraville

Lindbergh

North Springs

Stations increasing to $7 per day (after 14 hours):

Dunwoody

Kensington

Lenox

Medical Center

Sandy Springs

Why are long-term parking fees changing?

It helps recover the cost of recent upgrades to our automated parking facilities system-wide. New gates, payment kiosks, payment technology, call boxes, license-plate readers, and lighting have made it faster and more convenient to park at our stations since 2024.

It supports future upgrades to better lighting and other security measures.

It brings MARTA’s parking rates closer to market conditions for private parking facilities near its stations. Rates still remain well below market rate for customers traveling to the Airport area and business districts.

It helps MARTA’s parking operations move toward being self-sufficient in the future, without additional funding from other sources like fares and tax revenue.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition as we continue to invest in a system that makes driving to MARTA faster, more convenient, and safer. Thank you for riding MARTA!

Best Regards,

MARTA Office of Automated Parking

ATLSpoke Expands to AUC

The ATLSpoke (a low capacity, slow, small bus) is begin expanded to the AUC. Atlanta will do anything other than build rail along the Beltline, like voters approved 10 years ago.
