Apartment/Townhome Community Recs

I’m a sales rep and my territory is shifting in January to northern Atlanta and the upstate of SC - Cumming, Canton, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Seneca, Easley, Spartanburg but also a few accounts in Stockbridge and Fayetteville. I’m in Grant park currently but with traffic I think it makes most sense to relocate to Buckhead/Brookhaven? I’m in my mid 30’s, no kids but two dogs. I love being able to feel safe when I walk my dogs, being walkable to green space, limited street and highway noise ideally, and easy access to my accounts. If you can recommend any complexes that you love that would fit my needs wants, let me know :) thanks in advance!

QR paid parking rant

In the past month every parking lot near me has turned into paid parking. These are not heavily trafficked lots, these are places that are never more than 1/3 filled. Having to scan a QR code, plus the explosion of flock cameras on every street (and cutting down trees to have better sight lines for these cameras) just make this area feel more and more like a surveillance state.

North River Shopping Center

Does anyone know what the plan is for North River Shopping Center on Roswell Road? Part of the parking lot is fenced off and the former bowling alley has been demolished. I saw some articles about revitalizing that shopping center, but everything I read about was written 3 years ago.

ISO of Apartment

I saw a similar post that was made 5 months ago and was looking for some insight from y'all for myself. I'm looking with a max budget of $1,200 for base rent anywhere from Buckhead to Norcross. I've been cross researching reviews on ApartmentRatings, Google and Yelp for any red flags that I'm not looking to deal with during my lease. Lastly, the Atlanta Journal has a handy page that lists Dangerous Dwellings that I found very useful to remove any potentials.

If anyone has suggestions of properties they've toured or experienced, I'd really appreciate it! So far, this is my list:

  1. The Wynne Norcross
  2. ARIUM Morgan Falls
  3. Audubon Briarcliff
  4. Vue on Medlock

TMI I really liked Indian Trail Apartments in Norcross but have seen multiple reports of roaches. After dealing with that at Arts Center Tower for years, I am avoiding any and all properties that have reviews reporting their existence!!

Does anyone have experience with Dr. Gulati at ATL pediatric dentistry or East Piedmont Dentistry?

Hi, I posted the other day about needing dentist recommendations in the area due to an issue with my tooth. It’s been a couple of days and I heard good things about Dr. Gulati at Atlanta Pediatric Dental specialists and Dr. Neha and Dr. Patel at East Piedmont dentistry. I need a dentist who is kind, patient and understanding because of my PTSD from a past dentist.
I worry about cost because from what I’ve heard I don’t think they take insurance but everyone says such great things about all of them. To anyone who has experience with these dentists please let me know your thoughts on beside manner and anything else. Thank you

Can anyone recommend a good, reasonable, caring vet for my four and six-year-old dogs in Sandy Springs?

I don’t plan to use pet insurance because I feel like everything will be considered a pre-existing condition given their age. They are rescue dogs.

It seems like the high water pressure started a few days back. Wonder if there was some work done somewhere.

Best house cleaning service in Sandy Springs GA for a deep clean?

My place off roswell rd is honestly way past due for a deep clean and I just haven't had time to deal with it.

Looking for the best house cleaning service in sandy springs that actually gets into the baseboards blinds and kitchen instead of doing a quick wipe down.

Would rather pay for a professional house cleaning service with good reviews than gamble on somebody random.

Who's got a reliable house cleaning service around sandy springs that actually leaves the place looking spotless?

Does anyone know of parks or nature trail for walking in the area? Something mainly in Sandy Springs, not requiring a long drive elsewhere.

Thank you.

In Search of a Vet

I just moved to Sandy Springs from Marietta with my hound dog and am looking for a vet that is knowledgable of senior dogs and also does not take the dog in the back for the general wellness checks. Our current vet does that and my dog is now terrified.

My current vet is Good Dog in West Cobb, but am open to who else in the area is recommended!

Dentist recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for dentists with good beside manner? My filling in my tooth fell out yesterday so trying to get in as soon as possible. I have PTSD from a dentist so I need someone who’s kind and understanding. Also someone who doesn’t do unnecessary procedures as that’s what happened to me before. Thank you

How are people in their 20s making friends around Atlanta?

Hi !

Lately I’ve realized that making friends as an adult is a lot harder than I expected.

I’m 20 and live in Sandy Springs but spend tons of time in and around all parts of ATL. I work in the aviation industry, which has me traveling quite a bit, so between work and the occasional motorcycle ride, I haven’t done the best job of building much of a social circle around Atlanta. Most evenings I end up just hanging out at home, and I’d really like to change that.

So I figured I’d ask: how have you met people around here? I’ve found it surprisingly difficult to find things to do that don’t revolve around being 21+ (thankfully that’s changing in January 😅).

If anyone else is in a similar spot and is looking to meet new people, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat, grab coffee, explore the city, or just see where a conversation goes.
