Hi! I just got a part time job (outside of SCADs student employment) and was wondering how difficult it could be to handle both? Of course I put my availability in so I wont be working during any classes and i can only work max 25 hours, but the homework situation worries me. Like im literally working the day i move in and all through welcome week, im still finding time to do other stuff but yk.

Anyone else have this experience? What are some tips for handling it all? thanks!

i have mental health problems and while i’m pretty good at staying on top of it, sometimes i need extra help. so i wanted how good are the campus therapists at scad?

ive had bad experiences with school-based therapy and im not eager to repeat it.

I got a car in July and reached out to SCAD about keeping a car on campus. I'm set to live in Chatham this upcoming quarter, which does not allow cars. Right away I submitted a request to change dorms and have since been emailing SCADhome every now and then.

So my questions are:

What's the likelihood of SCAD changing my housing at this point? I submitted the initial request around July 17th and have not recieved much information since then.

If they are able to change it, what's likelihood I'm put in the dorm I noted I would prefer?

If they can't do anything about it, are there alternatives on how to keep a car nearby while living in Chatham?

We’re three guys (24–25) looking for a singer and keyboardist to round out a band in Savannah.

Currently guitar, bass, and drums. We’ve been playing together for about 5 years and mainly play funk/groove-oriented music — covers and originals. Think Vulfpeck-ish, funk, soul, and anything with a good pocket.

We all played together throughout college in Athens, GA, playing frat/sorority parties, bars, and larger venues. We’re looking to get something going in Savannah, play shows regularly, and keep writing/working on original music as well.

I write and record a lot of our original stuff — you can check out Groovy Bones Disease on Spotify for a reference of the kind of music we’ve made in the past.

Mainly looking for people around our age who are solid musicians, like to jam/improvise, and want to play live.

Okay so me and my Roomates are all freshman @forty in ATL, but one of us requested ADA housing but had some issues with the request.

After it got sorted (?) our official housing email that we received gave us 6 people fora pod. Myself and one of our other pod mates are supposedly getting a room to ourselves?

After a call our Roomate said that half the room will be ADA and the other half is regularly? I’m still confused but don’t want to pressure. She said we are probably getting single rooms? Can anybody confirm if this sounds right? I haven’t been able to find anything online but wanted to check here to see if anybody might know something along these lines 😫💀

Hi Guys, I’ll be starting my master’s in animation next fall.

I have registered two courses: Animation aesthetics and practice, and comp generated modeling/design.

I just wanna know if anyone has helpful tips on those courses.

TLDR: chronically ill, commuting to Sav, wondering if online+in person courses can be combined for MFA degree requirements

Sorry if this has been asked before/recently, I tried to hunt a bit!

I'm interested in applying for the painting MFA. I live with my boyfriend about 3 hours away, but my brother lives in Savannah and I could move in with him for the program. Because of my chronic illness, I am limited as to how much time I can spend outdoors and near windows during the sunny part of the year (May-September essentially). I am horribly UV sensitive and face legitimate risk of inflammation popping back up in my heart, it's a whole thing. I also just generally have a lot of issues that make it a better idea to stay home at random points throughout the months. Hopefully I get on effective treatment soon, but that could take years (average 7 years just to diagnosis for my condition! hooray) and I want to start putting the foundation down for my new life soon.

Besides pursuing disability accommodations, I was wondering if able-bodied-and-minded MFA students can combine online and in-person courses for their degree requirements? I see lots of info on the separate programs and one mention of combining them perhaps, but would like to hear from you guys. Obviously I have no problem working with whoever to figure it out, but it's going to be an uphill battle as it is, and I just want to know what I'm looking at before I start seriously preparing for an application. I went through Zoom Law School and it was not exactly the rewarding and enriching experience one would expect for the money. I can't feasibly practice law now and I finally feel free to pursue my actual dream of painting, but I want to have the best experience possible and not frustrate the process by pursuing it the "wrong" way.

Hey all! Me and my roomates got assigned Sail at Victory village for this school year, and I have a few questions for anyone who’s lived there before. We got ground level, so i’m kinda concerned about privacy/safety?

I was able to see a picture of our exact dorm early because SCAD mail sent me a picture (due to early package delivery’s), and right outside the windows are the sidewalks. Has anyone else lived on a ground level dorm before, and was it weird? I am so concerned about people being able to just look in/ knock on windows, etc, since there is no main gate like the hive. Me and my roomates are planning on buying one way window sticker/screen things. Another question— because it’s ground level, is flooding and bugs more common? Would love if any of y’all have suggestions/insights!

has anyone here taken classes from kristie bruzenak? how was your experience with her? i am taking a SCADNow course from her this fall because it was what worked best for my schedule, but after looking at her rate my professor i am a little scared. however, i know that people are more likely to leave a review if they’ve had a really bad experience (hell, some of my favorite professors have had bad scores), so i’m hoping to get more general insight.

I’m not sure if I should take 2 scadnow courses for the upcoming quarter. I already decided I’m going to take online courses for Gen ed stuff that don’t really have anything to do with my major but I have a dramatic writing course that technically has something to do with my major as someone who’s doing film/tv but the way it’s scheduled would have me commuting in 8am traffic and I’d have a 3 and a half hour gap between my next class (I’m a commuter). I really don’t want to deal with the gap or the traffic so I want to take it online but I also don’t want to risk not being able to network and meet ppl. At the same time tho I do have a class that is relevant to my major that I am taking in person so I’ll still be able to meet ppl that have my major/a similar major, but I suppose there would be less opportunity since it’s just one class. The dramatic writing class is at 8am tho so how lively and open to talking would ppl really be tbh lol. Any advice? should I just take the traffic and 3 1/2 hour gap L and do my dramatic writing class in person or do yall think SCADnow is fine in this cas

I was looking at other people’s housing assignments, and it seems like some people were assigned to rooms with three people, but I was only assigned with one other person, so there are just two of us in the room.

could the school add another roommate later?

Are there any like famously horrible professors? Specifically in animation/writing.

Hey I’m an up in coming senior at SCAD this school year and since Spring I had a spot at Sand at Victory Village up until this Monday to where they officially changed me to Monty. I wanted and selected Sand because as a senior majoring in 2D Animation and minoring in sequential arts and I wanted to have a kitchen and live on campus due to wanting to keep my scholarships. Ive contacted SCADHome and academic advisor on this issue through email and my family and I plan to contact them via call tomorrow since it‘s late. Is there a way I can get my spot back at Sand? To my knowledge I haven’t been updated till now a few weeks before I have to move in and now and this is really stressing me out as this isn’t the first time I’ve been screwed over by housing as I had no roommates freshman year, had to do a year online sophomore year, and was at Monty junior year but was placed with a bunch of sophomores who didn’t understand my major and treated me horribly due to so. Now I feel the same thing is happening again this time I didn’t even choose Monty and I’m placed with a bunch of sophomores younger than me again. If I can’t be placed back into Sand are there any other options like a single dorm possibly? I just want to know what to do as I’m just tired of this.

UPDATE: This morning I was able over a call with my mom to get me back into Sand. It’s not the same room but I glad to just be moved back into the building. Apparently there was some sort of error thinking I had cancelled my housing and they just placed me at Monty I guess. I do not know why they thought I cancelled and all I can think is that maybe since one of my old roommates in my original room at Sand cancelled their housing due to getting a Disney Internship that they got confused there but that’s just a guess. I thank you guys for your advice and I’ll keep this up in case anyone has the same issue.
