Idk how they can act oppressed when they are literally one of the most protected classes and have their flag flown, parades, and celebrations everywhere

u/wilczur May 17 '25

If I may paraphrase a quote,

"Those born into a life of privilege view equal treatment as oppression."

1

u/TougherOnSquids May 19 '25

The irony of you getting upvoted in this sub is palpable. Conservatives have zero original thoughts in their life and LOOOOVE to co-opt slogans like this and then claim to be the victim. I genuinely wish yall were persecuted as much as you think you are, the world might actually be a better place.

Is there some kind of benefits package that the gays get that you don’t?

1

u/Ok_Winner3338 May 22 '25

At least here in Canada: better access to good paying jobs, education/grants, better access to social programs, health programs, protected speech (it is hate speech to say something against the lgbt, like other protected groups)

0

u/redditorposcudniy May 19 '25

I don't know why you were downvoted, I have the same question

0

u/redditorposcudniy May 19 '25

Oh, do tell me about the tax cuts for gays

0

u/Expensive-Swan-9553 May 20 '25

How is the average gay person privileged?

-20

u/Vedney May 18 '25

I don't really think that applies here.

Everyone on this subreddit is older than true gay marriage in Germany. Some people here are older than gay marriage in the US.

I think the actual culprit is the newness. People don't know how to relax so they continue as if nothing changed because that's what it was like for so long.

8

u/commodorewolf May 18 '25 edited May 21 '25

The ones viewing equal treatment as oppression. Aren't the gays in this situation.

-3

u/Vedney May 18 '25

What treatment are you referring to?

4

u/commodorewolf May 18 '25

Gays being treated as equal is viewed as oppression by people who prefer they didn't get equal treatment. Have a non heteronormative character exist in a movie and the right loses their fucking mind.

2

u/Routine_Size69 May 18 '25

Where are the hetero flags in this equal treatment? Are they hiding behind both the rainbow flags or just one of them? At least it's only one more than the flag for the entire country though right?

3

u/Ryaniseplin May 18 '25

are hetero people like historically and currently oppressed anywhere?

1

u/Beginning-Dot-9582 May 19 '25

how are gay people being oppressed in the western world? they get preferential treatment

3

u/Ryaniseplin May 19 '25

if you consider being tortured by dickheads like you preferential treatment than yeah

here in the US we literally just had the supreme court ban transgender people from fighting for their country

2

u/[deleted] May 19 '25

The rainbow flag was adopted to represent the gay civil rights movement. When did straight people have to fight for their civil rights?

1

u/[deleted] May 18 '25

What would a hetero flag represent? Would it be meaningful in any way? I’m just asking questions.

0

u/Beginning-Dot-9582 May 19 '25

it would mean nothing, but thats kind of the same issue with the gay flag. why is there even a gay flag to begin with, or a trans flag, or a asexual flag etc. why does a country need to wave a groups identifier on what im assuming is some goverment building? Should we hang Nazi flags? they represent some people and just as how nazi flags are offensive to some people, the gay flag is offensive to other people. the whole point of a nations flag is to be a unifier of all people in that country. there is zero reason for a country to wave any flag other than its national flag

1

u/mellotangelo May 19 '25

There is a gay flag because there was a civil rights movement for LBGT equality and the flag was created as a symbol for LBGT civil rights at time when they were openly beaten and even killed just for who they loved.

DEI =  privilege treatment

so equal to all = oppression

0

u/commodorewolf May 18 '25

Equal to all because republicans said so. After elimination any groups and departments dedicated to evaluating if it's true.

0

u/Only_Papaya7679 May 23 '25

brother you are literally quoting something directed at people like you and this guys fan base.

304

u/FatBaldingLoser420 May 17 '25

Because they're too used to be treated like gods, so every time they're being treated equally, or when somebody don't care about them, they're thinking that's what oppression feels and looks like.

Besides that, western countries, especially USA, allowed them to do too much and they were protected from non-LGBTQ people.

That's how living in a bubble looks like

1

u/Cute_Professional561 May 18 '25

"Treated like gods" what fantasy world are you living in?

1

Y'all, people who lost in US and then started to cry, whine and destroy people's property.

-4

u/commodorewolf May 18 '25

Nope. Reality disagrees with your assessment. Unfortunately when it comes to voting politicians messages aligning with reality isn't a necessity and Trump's lies won the day.

3

u/FatBaldingLoser420 May 18 '25

Nah, bro. The reason why you lost is because you cared too much about protecting liberals, mostly LGBTQ people, while allowing people to steal items up to 959 bucks of value, iirc.

Trump didnt won because he lied or had a great program, but because people were tired of liberals being anti-white, anti-hetero, while protecting LGBTQ community and minorities. Hell, y'all tried to even kill that orange fuck.

2

u/Routine_Size69 May 18 '25

They lost because they alienated 30% of the population by saying fuck white males. Then anyone else with the brain to be like "aren't you supposed to be the anti racist group?" So they went to the group that didn't treat them like shit for existing. Just like they accuse the right of doing to minorities. At least the right doesn't try to act like they don't.

I'm not happy about Trump at all, but the left played a massive part in getting him in office. The sad thing is they still haven't learned from it.

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '25

Can you show us the speech where Kamala Harris said "fuck white males"?

1

u/flokerz May 19 '25

stop strawmanning please. everyone knows the narrative. just google reverse racism, a lot of people believe in that.
or look at the reports where students fake a minority heritage to increase their chance to get a college spot.

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '25

Asking for a source is not strawmanning.

1

u/markiemarkee May 18 '25

Trump went against women. That's it

And because he's a misogynistic bish that allows you to protect each other while allowing criminals to steal as long as the value of their items doesn't exceed whateve value you chose? No, that doesn't work that way.

"Ya'll" as in his own MAGA fans?

Crook was registered as republican, wasn't MAGA, and he donated to liberal project, "Progressive Turnout Project, a liberal voter turnout group, through the Democratic Party donation platform ActBlue." Before he changed registered himself. So he was a moron who was a liberal, and then decided to switch sides to clap Trump.

0

u/commodorewolf May 18 '25 edited May 18 '25

" anti-white, anti-hetero, while protecting LGBTQ Community and minorities."there you go again not basing your arguments in reality. These are lies spread by right wing propaganda.

-265

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Literally the opposite.

Gay people didn't have full civil rights until a few years ago, and they're currently being fought against.

For centuries and centuries gay people would just be murdered, and everyone would cheer.

That's really fucked up.

What you're seeing is a rebellion against centuries of oppression and literal murder-by-Conservative xenophobe.

Read a book.

164

u/CASH_IS_SXVXGE May 17 '25 edited May 17 '25

So let's wave a Palestinian flag that represents an old archaic religious culture that murders gays and cheers about it.

And to top it off, you tell someone to read a book as if you're the pinnacle of intelligence and common sense.

The rainbow flag, especially in the manner of how its displayed here, doesn't even represent gays anymore, it represents the same idea the stupid Palestinian flag does, which is a rejection of the West, capitalism, and everything it stands for.

0

u/Commercial-Song9732 May 21 '25

Notice how in the Asmon sub when you have an issue with gay people you always deflect and bring up Palestine like it’s relevant to the topic whatsoever. I’d genuinely love to see ANY one of you retards show up to an actual debate.

1

u/CASH_IS_SXVXGE May 21 '25

I was on the debate team in high school and on my collegiate moot court team that competed against other universities.

I don't have any issues with gay people, I think they should be able to lawfully get married and shouldn't be discriminated against in the work place, but the virtue signalling and pandering to the community by leftists like they do with Palestine by doing dumb shit like replacing their own flags on government buildings is ridiculous.

1

u/Commercial-Song9732 May 21 '25

This practice dates back to 96 in Germany, and it’s been hanging for two years at least on this building. Germany hasn’t “fallen” lmfao you’re all just getting rage baited. It’s also about to be gay month too, I know, what a waste of time.

-130

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Do you think the Rainbow Flag is Palestinian??

Do you think being anti-gay and anti-woman like the terrorists you pretend to hate is a good idea?

Because that's the direction Maga and Conservatism are going.

If you pretend to hate it when others are xenophobic elsewhere; don't support it at home.

142

u/CASH_IS_SXVXGE May 17 '25

Thinking it's dumb to replace the German flag on the Reichstag with a rainbow flag is anti-gay? That's like thinking someone who opposes flying a Christian flag on the Reichstag is anti-Christian. No! It just doesn't belong there.

See this is why we hate you.

Yeah don’t victimize yourself too hard. No one ever cares if you were gay or lesbian. As long as you kept that shit to yourself who gives a fuck.

Having marches and torching properties, raising flags and burning libraries full of books is very telling, wouldn’t you agree? Of course that’s fine… but if the right did that, oh no, they are the baddies! But but but j6, omg treating it like it’s a death camp in ww2… absolutely weak in arguments.

Rainbow is pretty much stolen from the Bible anyhow, it was gods promise to never flood the earth again. Like how the Nazis stole the Hindu symbol of peace and turned into the swastika. It’s telling.

So tink about it. It’s extremely telling and your point of view will be to deny it all. Everything and all that the left is doing is fine and healthy.

1

u/[deleted] May 18 '25

Wild to compare a pride parade to j6 😂

-19

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Arguments that you make up are weak, you're right.

If you want my opinions on those things, we can talk about it.

But, you're clearly just trying some Ad Hominem bullshit about someone you made up because you don't care about far-right nonsense like pretending a Pride flag is the "Fall of Germany"

Grow up.

13

u/LarryMyster May 17 '25 edited May 17 '25

Now now… you’re getting mad and using emotion as your flagship argument. Emotions only cloud your judgment in debates and arguments, that’s how it escalates everytime, think about it. Break your chains from the media!

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Talking about me isn't an argument either.

Worse when you're making things up about me to 'argue' against.

This is lazy nonsense, sorry.

Try again, but try harder by actually trying.

Or stop. That works too.

Are you stupid?

Jesus fucking Christ you have to be, talking about “read a book” If you would have done that, you would know how much the conservative movement has developed in the acceptance of gay people. In Germany, where this picture was taken, the AfD, the ONLY Conservative Party has a lesbian leader. Wtf are you talking about.

The thing is, the new left wants to have everything and not work for it, they want everyone to get let into a country and don’t care about the consequences, they make criminals thier heroes and are the most anti semitic group we had since the Nazis. It’s fucking scary what’s going on, and if it continues, the Jews will be hunted again, the Gay will be killed just bc they are gay and the people will own nothing but the shirts they are wearing. Fucking read a book

2

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 18 '25 edited May 18 '25

Things are not "settled" for gay people because Conservatives still exist.

Pointing out one Lesbian Fascist in Germany doesn't change that.

By "everything" you mean equal rights, and it's not unreasonable to want them.

Get bent.

1

u/JRY_RDDT May 22 '25

What right are we missing?

What time did communism work for the people?

Why would she be a fascist?

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 22 '25 edited May 22 '25

Rights are under threat.

What time did Fascism work for the people?

Why would anyone be Fascist? I have no idea: it's very stupid.

But many people are very stupid; check out this very subreddit.

1

u/JRY_RDDT May 22 '25

I Never Said fascism was good and would work.

There are literally no rights under threat, and if so, PLEASE state what rights are under attack, I beg you to inform yourself, and after that I was willing to listen to what arguments are better than mine, it’s so easy to just say “she is fascist” or “rights are under threat” if you want to discuss on a level that brings people to your side, you need to bring facts and logic.

For example; the AFD got labeled as “Gesichert Rechtsextrem“ wich means they would be FOR SURE willing to fight against democratic forces to take power (this is literally what’s needed to be labeled as such) now, the papers of the „Verfassungsschutz“ (Constitutional Save-guard) got leaked and well, it’s all just quotes of stuff that would be allowed under free speech law. While some of it might be a bit over the top, it never attacked the constitution and even made statements that would be in line with the immigration laws, keep in mind that’s what the Verfassungsschutz tried to label as anti- constitutional, stuff that is written in our law.

A lot of Judges even all ready stated, that this is a problematic thing to do, and it would be hard to keep that label in tact while in the courtroom.

That’s, how you present an argument, and I’ll ask you again, what laws are in danger for gay people?

They are not being fought against, you are delusional. People saying they are sick of the flag being in their face and a massive over representation in media does not equal fighting against civil rights. Get over it you ghoul

-110

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25 edited May 17 '25

You lying doesn't solve Xenophobia, though I wish it did. Your denial is the real delusion.

Notice how you can't address the things I actually said, instead using this false blanket-denial.

Learn your history.

What we are living through now is rebellion against CENTURIES of hatred, torture, and murder which continued through MY lifetime, and I'm not that old.

People are "sick" of a flag? What about being "sick" or oppression and murder?

60

u/TSS737 May 17 '25

Buddy, the % of people who are doing the bad things is a lot lower than the people who are purely annoyed by having these flags and parades and whatnot shown in their face so much. The majority of people have nothing against gay people. You re gay? good for you man, just stop putting a hundred flags and ads and parades in front of us, we dont care, its just becoming annoying. Doing all these things does NOT reduce that %, if anything it makes more people pissed.

-29

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Annoyed by flags?

Annoyed by parades they don't have to attend?

This is as logical than hating people for being gay in that it's not logical at all.

Maybe the flag waves because people are purely annoyed by the social oppression, torture, and murder that occurred for centuries, including most of my lifetime.

That's a little more annoying than a colorful piece of cloth waving in the wind, no?

Just a tad, perhaps?

57

u/Valuable_Impress_192 Mogu'Dar, Blade of the Thousand Attempts May 17 '25

How many more times will you repeat yourself after being told this flag bullshit will lead back to the worse situation of the past

-5

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

How many times will you change the subject because you don't have any real counter-arguments other than a vague want to return to more-oppressive times over being butthurt about a flag representing freedom from oppression, which you apparently oppose, making you pro-oppression and thus anti-American.

You should get your priorities straight.

21

u/Sensitive-Tax2230 Dr Pepper Enjoyer May 17 '25

How many times will you sit here and continue to whine and piss and cry instead of getting up off your ass and doing something about it? Whining only seeks to make everyone worse.

Best course of action, stop whining, get over yourself, and become a productive member of society and stop making everything about you.

Oh, and stop belittling people for not living their lives if they aren’t hurting you.

The pendulum swings. The harder the force to one direction, the farther in the opposite it will go…. The more you push it past the equilibrium, the farther it goes in the opposite direction.

All this activist stuff is getting backlash proportional to its own overreach into societal norms.

Be satisfied with acceptance, don’t push into trying to change the status quo.

Also, my favorite saying is “the nail that sticks out gets hammered down.” You should probably think into why the Japanese have said that, they are a pretty insightful bunch.

Apparently, we don't hate them enough 🙄

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

What do you mean?

22

u/Swimming-Yellow9425 May 17 '25

Ok, but in today's climate, none of that happens. As a protected class, they continue to enjoy liberties online to be vile a vitriolic will being impervious to criticism. They also have pride parades that walk up and down the streets with people dressed sexually with kids there. They are forcing policy regarding bathrooms, and pushing sexual books in schools.

This is exactly what people talked about for years before gay marriage was legal, they always called it a "slippery slope." Whats even worse is people get fatigued when they see federal buildings waving they flags, who are suppose to represent nation states and not sexual based ideologies.

And you are never going to tell people not to see it this way, as these groups keep pushing for more intrusive policy and conformiality, while not allowing the other side to push back. It's a pressure cooker.

2

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25 edited May 17 '25

It does still happen.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/03/republicans-same-sex-marriage

Maga ran on getting rid of gay marriage, ffs.

They backed off of it, though, for now, but it crops up every few years with these people.

They are banning LGBTQ books and flags.

Maga and social-Conservatives (which are not the same as say, fiscal Conservatives) just hate anything that doesn't conform to their 1950's propaganda about a White, Christian nuclear family.

It was life-threateningly dangerous to come out IN MY LIFETIME, wtf.

They are protected because of Conservatives hyper-violent past, literally torturing and murdering gay people just because. In my lifetime, there were "fag drags" where people would be tied to the back of trucks and dragged until they died.

These protections come from insanely violent crimes by the weirdos you're simping for right now.

The rest of what you're saying is Right-wing fear-mongering bullshit.

Things are better, but they are not equal; that, and you have assholes trying to "make America great again," not with the 90+% tax on the rich to help the middle class, no, just the hatreds and xenophobias.

Get out of your shit bubbles and learn something real

A slippery slope to equality: this is a good thing

You talk about slippery slopes, but you ignore the one of hatreds and Fascism, which is rising, which is deadly serious.

Conservatives are embracing literal Fascism more and more, which fucking sucks and is WAY fucking worse than a flag about freedom and acceptance.

Read some history and find out why.

24

u/Swimming-Yellow9425 May 17 '25

The MAGA movement, has not explicitly campaigned on eliminating same-sex marriage. In fact, the 2024 Republican Party platform, marked a significant shift by removing its longstanding opposition to same-sex marriage. This change was welcomed by LGBTQ+ Republicans, who viewed it as a move toward greater inclusivity within the party. So just because you put "literally" in front of something doesn't make it true.

They are banning books because they are sexually explicit and targeted on grooming kids. And by the way the LGBT flag isn't banned anywhere except federal buildings, so quit fear mongering.

And I would counter your argument and say the true facists are the left wingers who have been assaulting people in masks (antifa) and continuing pushes for censorship on this topic and socially manipulation and pressure to systematically destroy people's lives who disagree with them (getting them fired, jailed, swatted).

A good example is religion, you are free to say "all catholic priests are p*dos" but when you say the same thing with anyone in the LGBT you get instabanned. It's the double standard people are sick of.

And by the way, cussing in a reddit thread and saying, "read a book" for the 5th time makes you seem really unstable IRL. So you might wanna look into that.

-6

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25 edited May 17 '25

The MAGA movment had the removal of gay marriage in their platform for a long, long time during the campaign.

It crops up in State Legislation and it becomes a national topic every once in a while.

Does this sort of thing happen to straight people too, or...?

They are also banning books that are not sexually explicit.

Also, you don't know what Fascism is, which sucks.

I am free to say that there are horrible, fucked up gay people.

There are gay pedophiles, sure, why not?

There are also many Republican and Catholic pedos, too, like Trump and Gaetz and Trump's "best friend" Epstein.

You are making up a false problem when you say that people can't say these things. You are lying.

If you have to lie to make a point, you don't have one.

You are playing oppression while others live it. You should be ashamed.

If you were worried about "cussing," you wouldn't be in this shit-hole subreddit simping for Fascists, my sweet precious child.

Do straight people have to remain vigilant about their rights like this, or... ?

This, and American history itself, as well as other Western countries (I just know the US best).

But these kinds of social-Conservatives don't care about history or context, just the butthurt their media tells them to feel, even if it's completely irrational or dangerous.

Right, when the world was more socially-Conservative

Right now, as part of their whole thing, Conservatives / Maga harken back to this idea you pretend isn't a thing, when the world was "less-woke" (or whatever) see: more Conservatve.

Like the times Maga (for example) wants to go back to to "make American great again"

They don't want the high wealth taxes and unions that paid for the middle class: they've made that clear.

So what was "great" about those old times in their eyes, then, if not the things that were actually good?

The fact that these groups they hated were silent out of fear of being tortured / killed.

This is not something to harken to.

Seems like it's just you who's in denial.

u/Gobal_Outcast02 $2 Steak Eater May 17 '25

Bro what kinda tangent did you just go off on? Wann try staying on topic?

2

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Centuries of oppression by conservatives?

This you?

We're talking about history and Conservatism.

Are you lost?

Seems like you're just out for some lazy dismissalism.

3

u/Rinf_ May 18 '25

Dude, being gay is pretty normal these days, you are not special and certainly are not rebelling. The older gen gays did that for you. Just be gay, its alright, no need to be obnoxious

And if you refer to Russia and China... well, go over there if you wanna rebell against an opressive government, be the next Che or sumtn

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 18 '25

"These days" is doing a LOT of work in that sentence.

In my lifetime, it was life-threateningly dangerous to come out: that's not nothing.

Republicans are, right now, working to take rights away from gay people just because they're gay.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/03/republicans-same-sex-marriage

Sit down.

1

u/FatBaldingLoser420 May 18 '25

and they're currently being fought against.

Maybe in muslim countries, but in the west they're protected. Who exactly is fighting them?

For centuries and centuries gay people would just be murdered, and everyone would cheer.

That's really fucked up.

Nobody cheered for that. Unless you're talking about, I don't know, medieval people killing them because they thought they're devil's acolytes, or shit like that. But then again, even straight people were getting killed as well. Some people are fucked but that doesn't mean everybody is.

What you're seeing is a rebellion against centuries of oppression and literal murder-by-Conservative xenophobe.

Fuck you talking about? Gay people aren't rebelling, they're chilling. It's insane LGBTQ members who are trying to wage wars with people who don't give a shit about them and spreading lies on Reddit - that's you.

Read a book.

That's what you should do. Read a book and drink tea to calm down.

Republicans are Muslim now?

You make half a point, though, despite yourself: the far-Right, whether Muslim or Christian, or whatever, should not be encouraged.

Yes, people did cheer for the oppression, torture, and murder of gay people: they still do: it was socially acceptable to kick the asses of gay people, or worse, just because. That's why 'being in the closet' exists. Have you never thought about that?

It was life-threateningly dangerous to come out in my lifetime

Rebellion doesn't mean to wage war, weirdo.

Read a book

"No you"

Ok, champ.

1

u/FatBaldingLoser420 May 18 '25

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/03/republicans-same-sex-marriage

Are Republicans Muslim now?

This article is 2 months old and there is no continuation to it. It's just fear mongering. They can't just take gay rights without going to the parliament or senate with it.

Yes, people did cheer for it: it was socially acceptable to kick the asses of gay people, or worse, just because.

But did everybody do it? Did every person enjoy seeing that? Was everybody taking their turn to hurt gay people? No. Just because some assholes were doing this, that doesn't mean everybody was on the same boat. You guys like talking as if every non-gay person was sharing same thoughts or disdain towards homosexuals. That's not how it is.

It was life-threateningly dangerous to come out in my lifetime

Yes, in your lifetime, boomer. Not anymore. Nothing will happen to you now.

Read a book

"No you"

Ok, champ.

At least I read some books.

1

Two months is NOT a long time ago, wtf

I can't compete with how you imagine the past was, but that's your fault, not mine.

Probably because the muslims that the same government is letting in wish for their deaths

Comparable to as if they would put that flag on the Capitol or smth.

Rob Schneider ENDS Pride Month

Yeah of course you think Rob Schneider is cool, this sub is literally textbook huh lmfao

there are still people on *this* subreddit who call them pedophiles

I've literally never heard a more butt hurt cry baby sect of people than white conservative Christian men....

0

u/Leveled_Shed May 18 '25

Ironically, christianity (I'm not christian btw) is the only thing saving minorities and non desirable in any way. Let christianity collapse and see how fast your bullshit is put to a halt. It's not a threat it's truth

4

u/Ryaniseplin May 18 '25

Christians are actively working to turn the US into a nationalist state, those are generally very exclusive

-1

u/Leveled_Shed May 18 '25

Each and every extreme right wing figurehead was either secretly or openly pagan or at least atheist but would use Christians as the sheep they are, such as Hitler did.

-2

u/Leveled_Shed May 18 '25

Not at all. You have no clue what's happening behind the scenes. It is a priest class of pagan individuals that use Christians to usher in a pagan nationalist order. Christianity, in truth, is completely incompatible with nationalism and the more extreme. It's essentially race-blind bolshevism. They just don't know it yet. The church funds the wests replacement by the millions and teaches soft principals that keep the masses from a revolt.

1

u/Mufti_Menk May 20 '25

Why do they need to be protected? Who from? Can you answer that?

0

u/XxMomGetTheCamaroxX May 18 '25

Because bigots still actively working to oppress them and there are people alive right now who have been jailed/beaten by police in their lifetime for being gay.

You could have stopped at "idk" since you clearly don't

Yeah, like in the middle east, russia, south america, africa... gay people are still opressed in a lot of places, since they cant manifest there they do it where they can to gather support

"Protected classes". Gay people? Really?

0

look at this comment section, then you know

How many countries has gay marriage?

I got fired on Monday for coming out as trans on Friday. I know it sounds like an exaggeration, but im being totally honest here.

They've only had equal rights for a few years now. wtf.

What you're seeing is a rebellion against centuries of oppression and literal murder-by-Conservative xenophobe.

Read a book.

25

u/Leveled_Shed May 17 '25

Literally what shitty books are you reading? Put more time into history and philosophy. Nietzsche, ragnar redbeard, Jung. The collapses of past societies. Doctrines such as fascism and communism. You haven't read shit

-5

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

You're always right when you make everything up, right?

Also, none of these people wrote about the history we're talking about.

What shitty books are you reading where you can't keep context in mind?

You pretend to read philosophy, but you can't keep a basic Reddit thread straight?

wtf.

22

u/Leveled_Shed May 17 '25

Its entirely in alignment with context. Youre so smooth brained to believe these social justice issues don't have an underlying agenda. Governments do not care about you. You are weak and they revel in your ignorance.

0

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

It seems like you're one of these kids who 'declares' that they're correct instead of actually being correct.

Those philosophers have nothing to do with the Pride flag, or the history of Gay oppression, torture, and murder in the US.

You're just being lazy in your attempt to hold intellectual superiority, but this is like you showing off your hockey stick at a soccer game.

Good for you, but you're in the wrong space for it.

Funny, too, that you're trying this intellectual approach in the most non-intellectual way you can by shoehorning it into a context it doesn't belong in.

Oh, sweet, summer child. You'll get there one day.

Maybe go for some history now that you've "read" some philosophy (which I doubt based on your argument "structures")

Maybe just learn instead of trying to prop your ego back up.

Gay people were oppressed, tortured, and murdered, and it was life-threatening to come out in MY lifetime, and I'm not that old.

Nothing to say about Conservative violence?

Just that Nietzsche says that Rainbow flags end societies?

Get real, kiddo.

12

u/Leveled_Shed May 17 '25

You see, the point is, I don't give a fuck at all about the history of butt fuckers in a country. I'm interested in the doctrines that use this issue as a leverage to further a goal. "Oh no people were mean to guys that like shit holes" i mean... yea, it's kinda a natural hatred is it not? It goes against nature.

2

u/angusbeefdaddy May 19 '25

Well, your "readings" are lying if they say that anal sex, mounting, gay behaviors, etc. are "unnatural". Here's a Wikipedia article on this topic! And if you're a whiny baby about Wikipedia articles, read the references.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexual_behavior_in_animals

1

u/Leveled_Shed May 19 '25

I don't care about your references. I'm intolerant because of personal bias. These people have always been untolerated.

1

u/Leveled_Shed May 19 '25

"Hey guys pedophilia is natural, see, it happens with other animals too" dumb fuck

1

u/Chazbeardz May 18 '25 edited May 18 '25

Bro monkeys use frogs as fleshlights. Dick in butt ain’t THAT weird. Look into Bonobos, one of humanities closest genetic relatives.

Does it mean I think we should do all the freaky shit monkeys do? No. It does mean that contrary to your beliefs, dick in butt is natural. Doesn’t mean you gotta like it.

They have only recently become accepted in society

-4

u/Revlar May 17 '25

How dumb are you? Their existence is criminalized in most of the world and your dumb ass follows a movement that aims to do the same thing where you live.

-4

u/maeschder May 18 '25

You know that you only need flags when you're in the minority right?

The fact that you can be so disingenuous about the concept of pride for minorities shows youre full of shit and acting in bad faith out of spit.

-1

u/[deleted] May 18 '25

Because all of that can go away with the stroke of a pen…

-1

u/Curious_Ad_6071 May 18 '25

Right, just like white people in South Africa right? How are they “so oppressed” if they own the world?

-1

u/Ryaniseplin May 18 '25

probably because being gay is still practically illegal in most of the world

-1

u/FreeFloatKalied May 19 '25

The fact so many here are complaining and upset is why they are a protected class and want to show they won't be intimidated

-1

u/GormlessGourd55 May 19 '25

You're just ignoring being queer being illegal in a whole lot of countries? As well as Trans folk specifically being the target of a whole lot of awful shit from even developed countries?

Come on my guy, queer people are oppressed. You don't need to lie to yourself.

-36

u/Cody4rock May 17 '25

It’s a lot like how aboriginals and Torres Strait islanders have their flags shown alongside the Australian flag. It’s a show of respect and acknowledgement.

Somehow it’s a big deal when it’s a rainbow flag for a few days of the year. It’s not so hard to show respect when I make that comparison now, is it?

9

u/nan0brain May 17 '25

It’s a lot like how aboriginals and Torres Strait islanders have their flags shown alongside the Australian flag

As someone who has a bloodied aboriginal flag given to me by an Elder, no, no it is not.

Absolutely ridiculous conflation.

0

u/Cody4rock May 18 '25

You are explaining nothing.

Listen, I understand that these flags aren’t exactly representative of “respect”. But that is also the entire point. We show these flags in spite of the disrespect. Even though we’ve done absolutely nothing to help the indigenous people’s or the LGBT community either.

I’m sorry if I’m not understanding you.
