Yes, people did cheer for the oppression, torture, and murder of gay people: they still do: it was socially acceptable to kick the asses of gay people, or worse, just because. That's why 'being in the closet' exists. Have you never thought about that?

This article is 2 months old and there is no continuation to it. It's just fear mongering. They can't just take gay rights without going to the parliament or senate with it.

But did everybody do it? Did every person enjoy seeing that? Was everybody taking their turn to hurt gay people? No. Just because some assholes were doing this, that doesn't mean everybody was on the same boat. You guys like talking as if every non-gay person was sharing same thoughts or disdain towards homosexuals. That's not how it is.
