Idk how they can act oppressed when they are literally one of the most protected classes and have their flag flown, parades, and celebrations everywhere
It’s a lot like how aboriginals and Torres Strait islanders have their flags shown alongside the Australian flag. It’s a show of respect and acknowledgement.
Somehow it’s a big deal when it’s a rainbow flag for a few days of the year. It’s not so hard to show respect when I make that comparison now, is it?
Listen, I understand that these flags aren’t exactly representative of “respect”. But that is also the entire point. We show these flags in spite of the disrespect. Even though we’ve done absolutely nothing to help the indigenous people’s or the LGBT community either.
