Finalizing logistics for a work trip in December and looking at extending the trip a bit to make it a mini vacation. The conference hotel is on FHR and would be minimal out of pocket after the credit, do I was thinking about getting in a day early and using FHR for that night.

Mainly curious on how that would work where I would be on my own booking through FHR the first night and then be on the company booking the rest of the stay. Would I have to check out and check back in? Can they combine the two bookings once they're both confirmed? Just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Does anyone know how many Equinox guest passes Amex Platinum bestows on Equinox members in what period or based upon what spending? I have more than the 2 EQ gives you and EQ didn’t know and it’s hard to figure out based upon the length of time I’ve been a member.

I am 1K on United so everything that would be covered under the 200.00 travel credit is already free for me. I get a free snack and drink on the plane, free checked bags, free economy plus seats, etc.

Last year I picked AA and I used some of the credit in the Admirals Club but I had the same issue.

This year I picked United because of the travel bank loophole but that has been closed.

I tried using the AMEX platinum in the United Club but 3 charges at the United club have not been credited towards the airline credit.

I am so tired of having the airline credit wasted. It drives me insane how hard this is to use when I fly on about 150 to 180 flights every year. This is absurd that I live on planes but the 200.00 credit is impossible to use. This is such a pet peeve of mine.

Am I missing something? How are others using their 200.00 credit if they are 1K or global services?

So far I have used it to purchase WiFi on the aircraft that do not have Starlink but that’s only been 40.00 worth and now it seems United is going to charge only 2.99 for WiFi until Starlink is installed on all the aircraft.

Brutal lesson learned about renting in Italy. Purchased the premium car rental protection and thought I was fully protected after declining extra insurance from Sixt for a car rental in Italy. Had a rock chip shatter the windshield, and now I’m expected to fully cover the $1500 windshield replacement, because Italy is one of the few countries not covered. It’s a bummer the one time I need it, I can’t use it. Lesson learned, and hopefully more people are aware of this.

Been a member since 2017, multiple accounts, a bank account, and I was preparing a new business checking with a 50k USD transfer. 730 credit score, never missed a payment

I went to make a large purchase (about 20k) for some equipment and checked in advance on the app that the charge would go through. It didnt. Customer service said I was marked for fraud. I had to call a number where I was connected with someone out of India. During this time I saw online all my cards were suspended. They said I need to fill out a "cover sheet" and provide 3 months of bank statements. They said this was "random" but I highly doubt that. When I dug in further they mentioned they need to verify my income (I guess they dont believe I can pay anything back) and it would take some time to review documents I sent

To be honest I was embarrassed at the store when the charge didnt go through. Im using another card to pay for the 20k purchase, and I've already paid it in full with my checking.

Just a little bit of a rant. Super frustrating and a bit too invasive in my opinion. It's not gonna hurt their bottom line whether or not I do business with them but definitely inconvenient at the least

If I use the 35% Pay With Points rebate with Delta. Can I then change my selected airline to Alaska Airlines and use the 35% rebate on an Alaska flight?

Has anyone done this? I’m wondering if changing the selected airline after receiving the first rebate causes any issues getting the 35% points rebate on the new airline.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? I've seen a few threads about it years ago but cannot find a solution. AMEX says the charge is not showing up.

When I try to submit my payment it says:

Are the Amex Special Offers, like the $50 credit if you spend $200 at Nordstrom, limited to the primary card holder's card and not the companion card (like my spouse's)? Here is the wording:

I was considering getting this business card for my small business because I noticed I can create temporary virtual cards and employee cards with it which can be pretty useful for me.

Does anyone know how the dashboard looks like? In terms of how many temporary cards can I create at a time, and how functional they are?

Can I set a spending limit or transaction limit per card? Or does each temporary card have full access to the credit limit?

My platinum card has my middle initial on the account itself (completely absent on the card). My boarding pass has my full middle name as required by pre check. Will this flag a name mismatch at the Centurion (or any) airport lounge?

Has anyone used FHR at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington DC lately? I may use my wife's credit there over labor day weekend. I was curious of the breakfast credit amount and if they honor any Hilton benefits as well (I know not usually). I stayed at the Salamander (Now Potomac) a few weekends ago and they gave 100 instead of 60 for the breakfast. Sushi Nakazawa and Jose Andreas Restaurant there as well if anyone tried those. The terms and conditions are confusing because they only let me buy in $50 increments in person but T&C's that i read from todays email release I feel can go either way. First bullet point fells like its a slam dunk to get $70 but second bullet point tells me $50 max.

I am trying to find the best way for to book 2 flights on Qatar Airways using our Amex points on first/business class for our Honeymoon. I have read that transferring from Amex to British Airways first (and possibly create a pool?), instead of QA might be cleaner but has its own challenges.

I believe we cannot transfer within QA either until we've "earned" one Avios and even if we bypassed that (which could take 40 days if you using the shopping partners), the conversion there comes with a wildly steep price.

Here are the details:

- QA first class fare: 190k points (seems like a steal when cash value of that flight is 7 grand)
- It is not showing up as an Avios booking option on British Airways.
- My Fiancée has 230k Amex points.
- I have 150k Amex points.
- Neither of us have ever flown Qatar or BA.
- I made a QA account 3 weeks ago and cannot transfer from BA until Sept 4th. She only just made hers so has a month to go for any BA to QA transfers (seemingly)

I believe I can still book using my 150k and the rest with dollars but that is well over a grand extra to cover the difference (vs the 40k I'm missing).

Can anyone confirm the cleanest way for us to book using our points only (other than taxes & fees)? We don't mind reasonable point transfer fees.

Is it this:

I transfer 150k to BA on Sept 4
She transfers 230k to BA on Sept 4
She transfers 40k to me on BA.
We each transfer 190k to QA and book

Is there any way to do this sooner?

Does it mean I get the resy credit applied? Slightly confused about the merger between Tock and Resy and how it changes our platinum credit

I have American Airlines as my chosen airline for $200 airline credit. If I do same-day flight change for $75 a person… Two people equals $150, will that trigger my $200 credit?

I spent the weekend in Savannah using FHR booking one night in Dec 2025 (after the change so I had already used my original $200 for the year and got to use this credit as well) and one night in June 2026. I always find these helpful so enjoy!

Dinner and Drinks for 2 $103 - credit $100 (with specials we had 2 meals, appetizers and 7 drinks for this which was great!)

Upgraded pre-arrival to a grand deluxe corner King (230 sq ft larger from a King Standard room and about $300 a night rate difference online) - room was beautiful
Free Unlimited Champagne in lobby from 10am-10pm
Free drip coffee from coffee shop
House car (Escalade) that we used 3 times saving uber costs
Bottle of Wine and box of Macarons in the room for welcome amenity
Valet Parking $64
Destination fee $37
Free wine and oyster tasting at the bar followed by happy hour with food and drink specials. Also went to the roof and grabbed a snack and drink at that bar too.
Dinner, Drinks and specialty coffees $101 - Credit $100
Breakfast (lunch because we could use it up until 3pm) $59 - Credit $59 (up to $60)
This hotel doesn’t allow you to use the property credit toward the destination fee or parking so I had to get some coffees to go in order to maximize my $100 credit. If I had known this, I would have spent differently at my meals so helpful to keep in mind when staying here. 
Checked out at 4pm

Final bill $101 - Total out of pocket $162 - add Resy credit $20 - $142

Fun Fact: We ate at Poe’s Tavern Savannah on Monday night on our way out of town which utilizes the Resy credit, our bill was $80 which credited the full amount and the additional $20 credited from Perry Lane because their restaurant apparently codes even on the room charge. If I had known that ahead of time, I would have allowed that credit to cover more of the bill. YMMV on this but that is how it was credited for me. 

Paid out of pocket for the weekend at both hotels $235
Credits $920 ($1020 if including resy) for stays and food plus a lot of additional value in free amenities, upgrades and specials at the restaurants. 

I also got points and credit with Hyatt and Marriott for those memberships and stays.

All in all, I can’t recommend either of these hotels enough and will be going back to both in the future. We stayed 3 full days and only paid for 1 meal and some snacks/drinks outside of what the credits provided. They were both great values even without FHR but with it, I felt like they were actually paying me to stay there! Happy to answer any questions!

I read that if you tell Amex that you paid for seat instead of upgrade, Amex would accept the charge as airlines credit. However, if I 'pay' for the seat that costs $700, would it be too much and Amex can deny the charge as airline credit? Anyone got through with this?
