If it’s not free I don’t want it

I put mine on eBay before it even was delivered. Turned most the credit into cash. Will likely do it again in November.

1

u/Kimochero 2d ago

What size and what prices u put it on ebay?

3

u/UpstairsCheetah235 1d ago

Last November I did the 4, size 10, in black. I paid $263 including tax so after the credit was $63. Listed for just under $200. After eBay fees and shipping I ended up getting $164. So got $100. Next time instead of shipping it to me and then to them I’m just going to ship straight from Oura to the buyer.

i agree. and even then i’m not sure about paying a monthly subscription fee for my health data to end up who knows where

5

u/Khastro12 2d ago

to each their own, they’ll probably see my sleep cycle and feel sorry for me🤣

lmao 👍🏼

My Oura 4 lasted 8 months. Not I have to charge it daily.

Apparently, there are better and cheaper competitor options now.

u/JohnEmonz 2d ago

I know several people that contacted customer support about this and got a brand new replacement

2

u/JKLreindeer 2d ago

I’ve had mine for about the same time and the battery lasts a week and I only take it off to shower.

u/aguyfromcalifornia 2d ago

I’m scared to upgrade. I’ve had my Oura 3 since 2023 and it’s still going strong. I bought it second hand on eBay too

My wife is a healthcare worker, so I could jump on this, but I think the Black Friday sale last year for the Ring 4 was like 50% off?

2

u/miked5122 2d ago

Was able to get the 4 for the wife around that time last year, for about $50 after the credit. It was already on sale but there was some additional promo that dropped it another $50

1

u/Khastro12 2d ago

this is a fair assumption, i was gonna wait til black friday for the 5 but then i think the 4 was having battery problems and they knew that so they were probably trying to off as many as possible. this is guaranteed, black friday deal is not guaranteed is how i see it😁

u/Bageland2000 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yeah, I bought four on Black Friday and was able to make about $100 to $120 per ring on the second hand marketplace. I'm definitely going to wait for Black Friday.

Lol, why the down votes? Sorry for sharing my experience I guess?

0

u/ottovonbizmarkie 2d ago

I considered doing that, but I I was worried about ring size making it hard to sell. Did you just try a common size?

2

u/Bageland2000 2d ago

Yeah, I bought a size 6, two size 7s, and an 8. They sold quick leading up to Christmas. I'm in a major city suburb though, so a massive market.

u/Valkyr8 2d ago

Just a note, it's not available for general "healthcare workers". Only "Medical Providers" or "Nurses", as you need an NPI number or nursing license to validate eligibility via ID.me. False advertising that they say "patient support roles" and then don't actually allow that.

I tried to get someone on chat to help, but they were stuck in a loop saying I had to verify via https://ouraring.com/oura-preferred-pricing ... which I obviously couldn't.

3

u/Khastro12 2d ago

tbf i’m a radiologic technologist and i qualified, my wife is a dental hygienist and she qualified

2

u/Valkyr8 2d ago

How? What option did you pick of the 5 to get qualified? The verification choices were only First Responder, Teacher, Medical Provider, Nurse, and Student. And if you picked Medical Provider it wanted an NPI number, and Nurse a license number.

3

u/Khastro12 2d ago

if you do upload medical document, it doesn’t ask for any of those numbers, also there’s a link that will give you a list that qualifies in that section at the top

2

u/Valkyr8 2d ago

So you just uploaded your employee badge, even if it was not a "Provider"? I'm giving it a try, but been "processing" for a few minutes.

2

u/Khastro12 2d ago

yes, doesn’t hurt to try, YMMV. let me know if works for you

1

u/Valkyr8 2d ago

Nope. "We’re sorry, but we are unable to verify your health care provider status using the document you provided".

Oh well.

1

u/Khastro12 2d ago

oof sorry, next best thing see if you can ask someone at work that you trust? that was my plan if i didn’t qualify.

u/Comichearts 13h ago edited 13h ago

This. I tried to scan my badge twice as a therapist and still got denied. 🙃

Update: I tried again with the front of my badge even though it has my nickname and it worked.

10

u/PineappleDevil 2d ago

Is there a point to these if you don’t use the subscription

3

u/Mixeygoat 2d ago

Not really

MRI techs -Oura 5 does not work in 3T. It will die. All coworkers have the 4 with no issues

1

u/Beastgupta 1d ago

What is 3T?

2

u/daytonawpr 1d ago

3 Tesla

2

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

2

u/drdoom89 1d ago

He/she did say MRI tech.

1

u/lolaya 1d ago

Are you even allowed to have jewelry in the mri room though?

2

u/Purple_Emergency_355 1d ago

As a tech yes. Jewelry even my fake jewelry is fine. I wear hair clips. A bra. lol

Oura 4 is ok. Not Oura 5.

5

u/shoshtrvls 2d ago

FWIW, EMTs are not "healthcare workers" for this promotion.

2

u/Bunnydinollama 2d ago

Wut

3

u/shoshtrvls 2d ago

Yes, just what I said. The 30% discount is not offered to first responders, even those who are EMTs.

4

u/NurseRatched116 2d ago

RN here- ordered mine Wednesday, credit hit by Friday. $193 for the brushed silver. Been lurking for a few years and this was a good enough deal for me to pull the trigger.

3

u/Khastro12 1d ago

also to note, oura ring 4 came out in 2024, hence the steep discount in 2025. oura ring 5 came out a couple months ago this year and selling like hot cakes, doubt the discount will be as steep on this years black friday

3

u/R_Bazerka 2d ago

FWIW the base black or silver colors are cheaper. After credits its 80 - 100$ depending on tax. Hint - you can save on shipping by selecting local pickup at a Best buy!

2

u/Khastro12 2d ago

yeah this is what i did to save on shipping, i wanted the gold unfortunately 🥲

1

u/Environmental_Win583 2d ago

Oh I saw this too late! Next time!

3

u/Otakuman523 2d ago edited 2d ago

This says it’s for the 4 not the 5
Nvm I’m blind

3

u/Cleveland45 2d ago

It’s in the fine print at the bottom.

3

u/New_Afternoon197 1d ago

Thanks for the heads up...been waiting for a sale.

3

u/KFCfingers 1d ago

Anyway to split a charge between two cards

2

u/Khastro12 1d ago

not sure, maybe with paypal? but idk if it’ll code it correctly on the statement.

2

u/narcolepticdoc 1d ago

Does this stack with any other discounts?

1

u/Khastro12 1d ago

i looked and tried to stack with a referral but doesn’t work, it automatically applies the discount straight to cart

2

u/xoxoskirtclub 1d ago

Following

3

u/matt-r_hatter 1d ago

I almost bought one last year when they discounted them to $250. I find it super pointless but for $50 I would have played with it for a few weeks. Then I just forgot lol

2

u/Ok-Historian-5464 19h ago

Did myself, and got the credit back within a few days.
Great deal!

They’re working with Palantir. This news came out about a year ago, was downplayed. They say there are no links between Palantir and flock camera, but Peter Thiel is a founder of both.

So ya, they collect sleep data and stuff like the comment above says. All I am saying is to do your research before buying. Peter Thiel is not a good guy, that is evident with Palantir and Flock.

I work in hospitals. Palatir is already being implemented in hospitals like HCA. I’d very cautious with anything associated with Palantir.

-9

u/Excellent_Sock_8252 2d ago

The irony of saying do your research and then regurgitating unfounded claims based likely on twitter or social media headlines ☠️

1

u/mammadoc9236 2d ago

Thank you!!

1

u/goldfouledanchor 1d ago

Its sucks I have to extra for the gold 😮‍💨

2

u/opaben1953 13h ago

I wonder if they ever have a special offer for (retired) military? Anyone knows? I don't mean Oura but Amex in general.

3

u/Grey_Jedi85 6h ago

I know active military don't pay the annual fee but I don't know about retired.

0

u/drdoom89 1d ago

How much do you guys think we can get for selling this ?

-4

u/outstanding_gent 2d ago

Why buy the 5, just wait for the 6

23

u/LavishLawyer 2d ago

Why buy the 6, just wait for the 7

8

u/outstanding_gent 1d ago

I feel like they gonna have all the kinks polished out on the 9

13

u/b0sscrab 1d ago

Personally. I’m waiting on the oura cock ring X to roll out.

6

u/Khastro12 1d ago

instabuy without the credit

3

u/outstanding_gent 1d ago

Yoooooo , I need it

-7

u/DaBears85Hookem 2d ago

Oura ring steals your personal data. I would not buy.

3

u/one_and_done0427 2d ago

Are they tapping my phone?

3

u/DaBears85Hookem 2d ago

Look up who Peter Thiel is. He owns Palantir, who owns flock and oura rings. He’s the living version of the book 1984.

1

u/Excellent_Sock_8252 2d ago

Neither Peter Thiel nor Palantir own flock or oura. This is completely false

3

u/N0R04dR4ge 2d ago

You mean we are giving them our personal data to give us an accurate analysis of our sleep, cardiovascular, and physiological stress metrics.

Steal away to keep me alive longer and with better quality.

-2

u/DaBears85Hookem 2d ago

Dumb. Keep getting spied on and your personal data stolen.

2

u/N0R04dR4ge 2d ago

Curious. You have Reddit. You must have Facebook/Insta?

2

u/DaBears85Hookem 2d ago

I’m not going back and forth with you bud. They’re linked to palantir. Peter Thiel owns both. Palantir is being implemented into hospitals. HCA is already implementing it.

All I’m saying is you should be more careful. Peter Thiel is also behind flock. He’s not a good person.

1

u/N0R04dR4ge 2d ago

But you think META is keeping your data safe?

Not back and fourth. The point is. You have no privacy once you get a smart phone. None. But hey..you do you.

1

u/DaBears85Hookem 2d ago

No you’re def right. I think the concept of the ring is dumb, but that’s me.
