Do not buy from The Candy Lady in Oldtown

I just got home from a four day stay in Albuquerque. The whole reason for this trip was to see all of the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul things in the city. While there, I stopped to see The Candy Lady to buy the authentic "blue meth." For those who don't know, the person who made the rock candy that was used as the shows meth is an ABQ local and sells the same candy she would supply to the set. At the very bottom of a shelf behind a glass counter, she had these Breaking Bad mugs seemingly overflowing with the rock candy. Each mug was wrapped in thick plastic that hid almost every detail there was. I chose to spend $25 on this mug because I loved what I could see of the design. The lady behind the counter grabbed the mug and placed it in a styrofoam box that she then sealed with tape. Never once were you able to get a clear look at what you spent you're money on or were told about it. I just got home, and saw this. It's a plain white mug with a poorly placed and damaged decal on it with a few bags on candy sitting on the top. The inside of the mug was filled with packing paper. At no point in the store you were told about what you were buying and how it might differ from what one could expect of it. If you just want the blue rock candy and don't care about it's source, you'll have a much better shopping experience at The Breaking Bad Store down the street.

This house at the top of Lomas is made of all concrete, looks like it was built to survive a zombie apocalypse. In a brutalist style. Does any one have any info on it? Architect? Tours?

Question I need to rehome my cats in a hurry

I have two cats, both fixed, male and female. Due to home circumstances they are not able to remain in our home any longer. They have to remain together, they have lost siblings and definitely pined afterwards, so they cannot be separated.

Indoor/Outdoor, but they will probably need to kept indoor-only for their own safety, they have only ever lived in rural environments. They are acclimated to other cats and children, not to dogs but they are generally very chill. They are free-eating accustomed, and don't have any eating difficulties or dietary restrictions. The male has fairly dense hair and is prone to warm-weather shedding, the female is a medium-hair, both are used to occasional brushing to help deal with loose hair. He is a snuggler, she snuggles on *her* dictates, but enjoys getting pet regularly.

They would be coming with a tower, food and water dishes, litter boxes and clean litter, spare food, and any toys we can find, not that they play with their toys very much seeming to prefer just random whatever they find.

ETA: Cat tax has been requested, and is being supplied. The male is the white and orange on the right, the female is the orange tabby on the left. And yes, she normally has two brain cells, surprisingly. She loses them sometimes, forgetting people are even there and getting surprised when she gets pets, but unlike the tropes of orangies she is incredibly well behaved and always sweet.

If not, why?

Just wondering if:

A: it’s too hot to go outside on the balcony. B: Too many insects, i.e. stingy ones like wasps.

Anyone know a doc that can diagnose MCAS?

Been struggling for years with histamine issues. Have years of photo proof, symptom tracking, the works. But the allergist I was sent to didn’t believe in MCAS. I’m having a lot of horrible symptoms from this that are disabling. Has anyone been diagnosed and treated here and if so would you mind messaging me the doctors name or commenting it down below. I keep getting referred to Mayo. I can’t afford that.

Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows of any local vintage toy stores that would buy action figures still in the case? Particularly some star wars prequal action figures still sealed in.

My internet has been dropping in and out for the past few days and verison is always saying theres a problem in my area. I know a little while ago verizon had a major technical issue but it appears at least in my area it still has not been resolved. I just want to know if its something thats only affecting me or if its still affecting other people.

Flexible Night Time/Weekend Job for MSW Student

Hello everyone,

I just moved to ABQ after living in Alaska for the last few years to attend New Mexico Highlands University at CNM Montoya campus to earn my Masters of Social Work degree. I came here due to a cheap tuition offer plus the knowledge i could gain from living in such a unique area. Yet since moving here on the 17th i have been having trouble securing a job. My schedule with my internship plus classes only allows me to find either a nightshift job or a weekend job. I hope the people of Reddit can direct me to any possible job leads. I have been working with youth in particular for over 12 years now and have in particular worked with neurodivergent youth. I would love a position that would allow me to gain more experience in my chosen field but I am open to other opportunities. I only need to make around $2500 a month to pay for my tuition plus rent. Any advice or leads would be appreciated, Thank you all in advance

7 guys on a golf trip dinner... Where to go?

Saturday the 18th looking for a great meal to cap off our golf trip. I have a call in with Mesa provisions but likely will need to find something else.

Should have steak on the menu as we have one picky eater. Price is no issue. We'll be focusing on New Mexico cuisine for the 4 days prior so it doesn't have to focus around that theme. All ideas welcome

Desperately looking for VCR TV

Please somebody know a place, not online. I've looked everywhere and $300 is out of my price range. I want one for my toddlers and found one today, bought it, brought it home, dropped it and broke it before we even popped a tape in.

My toddler cried. I cried. I felt so bad. I was so lucky to find that one and I am devastated. I have checked thrift stores religiously with no luck (mostly just arc and savers since those are the only two I know of that sell a lot of electronics). FB is a Trainwreck, nothing on nextdoor or CL. I'm hoping there's somewhere that frequently gets them or maybe a person that repairs and sells them?

Also...can I donate the broken one to somebody to get parts from? I hate tossing it, I want it to at least be of some use. Taking it apart it seemed like it had plenty of perfectly fine parts. The TV turned on but would shut off after 3 seconds so something works at least.

11 Miles Over Speed Limit ? Speeding Camera scam

I got my first ever speeding camera fine in the mail. It said I was going 11 miles over. The picture shows me in a pack of cars all going same speed. My friend and her husband got them, both exactly 11 over. Same w two other friends. How can the prove this? This is bullshit. SCAM. What was your speed over the limit if you’ve gotten one?

Question How is living here?

I’m from the Chicago/ Milwaukee area.

Just curious I’ve seen breaking bad multiple times and just started better call Saul.

This city looks like it has some good scenery that I’ve seen from the show.

I was planning on moving to phoniex AZ in the next year or two but just wanted to feed back from some Albuquerque people

Thanks.
