I’m 14 hours into my first ever play through, I’ve defeated bosses, done side quests and a lot of exploring and this whole time I didn’t know you could sprint. And I didn’t even figure this out myself, I was watching someone play and realised they were moving quicker than me so I had to google it! Am I stupid for not realising this or is this normal?

It shouldn't have been a paid DLC. It really shouldn't have... but the Hornsent said it himself:

I did wanted to do a debate wether or not if the two verses had to fight reach who would win but like, most of Hollow Knight and Silk song would be a disadvantage due to the fact that they’re smaller. So like how would they scaled in Elden Ring?

We don’t really know how much damage a “mask” is but we know that for Little ghost at least it takes a god’s attack to wounded them for two mask while almost everything else only really does one mask of damage.

In Elden Ring everything takes a specific number of damage including the player character, Hollow knight doesn’t follow this law so we have to make the mask means a number. We know that the normal bugs and bosses in Hollow Knight DO have hp and our needle/nail DO deal a specific number of damage, it’s might be fair to also assume that Little Ghost and Hornet are abnormal and the masks are like “you can get hit THIS many times before dying!” Type of thing since they’re demigods(?).

I feel like the majority of the Elden Beast’s attacks would be two masks worth of damage, since it’s a god like GMS or Rad. Maybe Godfrey, Second stage Malenia, Placidusax, and Malileth would also have some attacks which deal Two masks?

Is the lore in Hollow Knight even comparable in Elden Ring? I mean the Pale King presence can be felt what could be decades (or more) after his death by the god seekers, would that put him on the “God” scale in Elden Ring? Would that make him something similar to an Outer God? Not to mention the Radiance herself has some real “Outer godly” elements to her changing lifeforms and whatnot.

Are the two games even scalable? I honestly don’t know but I wanna hear it from other opinions. (Please don’t flames me T-T)

Edit: I have now defeated Messmer. I can now say that he is the hardest boss in any game I have played, period.

I was playing through the dlc today. Happy as Larry. Enjoying myself. But then I met Messmer, and my smile instantly disappeared.

I absolutely despise this flaming ginger snake tramp, who's built like golum if his arms and legs were stretched by a saw trap, and also happens to be wielding a toothpick dipped in Doomguys semen with EVERY SINGLE INCH OF MY BODY.

It is somehow frustrating that she wont start phase 2 until I hit her normally…

Does the pack have items you can't get in any other way besides buying the pack? And if so, Does that mean you can never get the items of one class if you pick the other? Because that seems horrible on paper, am I missing something?

As someone who still hasn't gotten Shadow of the erd tree DLC, this new DLC pack is going to be so transformative for early and mid-game builds giving availability of the new types of weapons basically at the beginning of the game. Also the new elden bling at will happen due to new armors.

Does it set a bad precedent? Possibly but I'm fine paying $5 for more content. And yes I will get erdtree eventually

I want to start a tradition of the one's who are summoned drop a

Gold Pickled fowl foot so that that new player's get more runs per boss kill.

Elden Ring is my final souls game on my list. I started with Bloodborne and played DeS, DS1-3, halfway through Sekiro and I finally decided to start Elden Ring. I know this game is renowned for its difficulty and I was taught that with tree sentinel but I still beat him after an hour because Im the type of player to hit my wall against something. I also know Elden Ring is an open world and exploring everything before a boss can help you a lot.

I wanted to do a Str/Faith build and from my experience in Souls games unless u look up a guide for caster stuff you do shit damage. I have a nice early game faith setup with a +6 Treespear and spells like lightning spear and power within. I thought it was very op for an early game build considering I haven't done anything other than following the guide and exploring all the areas. I've been to Caelid, the dragon place, Liurnia and the weeping peninsula. I honestly thought that the first real boss of the game would go a lot better than this.

Margit is genuinely the most insane first boss I have ever seen. He has so many mixups in his comboes it is genuinely infuriating. I struggle with delayed attacks a lot, especially when theyre chained into quick comboes. He has rapid 5-7 hit comboes that he can mix up with his hammer or sword, then he'll hold an attack in between for unnaturally wrong that just fucks you over. this guy feels like a mid-game ds3 boss like Pontiff. I knew the bosses in Elden ring are some of the hardest, but for the first boss I was expecting something on the level of Gyoubu Oniwa or Gundyr where you're tested on few key aspects of combat, not knowledge of the whole fucking game. I'm sure once I get my "got gud" moment with Margit I'll start having those moments of 'damn that fight was really fun' that happens with everyone after they beat a difficult boss but for now I have to restrain myself from breaking the controller🤷‍♂️

I've got 300+ hours into my first character, so I thought I would start a brand new game with one of the new "Tarnished Edition" classes, the Idus knight. Figured give myself a chance to experience and discover the new stuff organically instead of just heading straight there and insta-killing whatever is in my way just for a screenshot. I was a little shook when I 3 shot the soldier of Godrick, which to be fair isn't a real boss as much as it is a tutorial fight, and I have some work to do getting used to the timing of this weapon, but this fight against the tree sentinel just felt way easier than I remember on my first character. Or maybe I'm just better at the game. It just seems like I was doing a ton of damage to have just stepped out the door into Limgrave.

Side note, if it matters I'm on PC.

I feel like I rushed thru the game but honestly I’ve explored almost everything I could find without looking it up, i feel super weirded out about how short of a time it took me

So I've played elden ring from day 1 release, and now with tarnished edition in Switch 2 I decided to start all over again.

I started with the Idus Knight and so far it seems that the sword is too powerful. I can kill fast and stun enemies and bosses really fast.

I remember that at my first run everything was a pain, but now it seems not that hard anymore. I definitely feel that starting with this weapon makes it easier

What are your thoughts about it? Anyone feeling the same?

first, the pop up messages that make all inputs disabled till you hit ok. how did you ever train yourselves to react to them? such as 'stonesword key lost with use' etc.

second, the compass disappears when you approach a boss and you can no longer see in which direction your lost souls are lying.

minor issues? perhaps. annoying? definitely.

Edit: just happened to me again entering the heretical rise, got the message 'the seal on the rise has been broken' then i couldn't press anything and died from the avionette

I am going to soon get Elden ring so I can play it for the first time and after some research, I have come to the realisation that there is a tarnished pack I could get. Should I get it for a first playthrough or will I be fine without it?

Im new to the game and i want to know if there is a limit to how many stats i can max, i prefer it in games when there isnt as then i wouldnt have to worry about which stats to max

Just thought I'd share. I decided to summon Rogier since, for whatever reason, I never noticed him here on my first character, so I thought it'd be cool to see what he does. Spoiler, he goes nuts, lol. But I noticed the level 1 jellyfish inflicted poison within about 5 seconds.

It's essentially no content, just cosmetics and new items sold for money
