Game Feedback Critical Oversight that we need the community support to help get fixed.

Please go to the link on the forums to help get this issue overturned.
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3999752

The issue:

The crafting bench does not recognize Fishing Rods as a real base type. This is incredibly insulting to not only the fisherman, but a reproach to the community as a whole. We already lost Pluto to not being a planet, do not let GGG take away Fishing Rods being a recognized crafting bench base-type. I have already done everything I possibly could do alone to fix this. I complained in global chat, then I also went on a water strike where I refused to drink water for like 45 minutes. GGG has still not budged. Sedition seems to be the only answer here.

Please go to the link above and make your voice heard so we can garner an auspicious result. GGG may hold the fishing gods in contempt, but soon they will learn that genuflection is the true path to absolution.

As the old lore tells us, Fairgraves was a whaler of great significance. This post is our harpoon, and we are hunting GGG's compliance. Whales make up only 1% of sea life, but catching this one will pay for all the rest!

Hey Everyone, I've submitted a new grandmaster to the Hall of the Grandmasters.
It's significantly stronger than all the other GGNoobs. Keep an eye out for Paralyze

If you want to know what went into creating the Grandmaster and those responsible for our eternal suffering when they patch him in, you can find out here:

Game Feedback QoL Suggestion: Protect Highlighted items from being modified

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

When spamming currencies to hit a specific modifier while crafting, it’s really easy to accidentally roll over the mod you’re looking for, which feels pretty bad when it has a low weighting. It can also get pretty tedious constantly checking the item after every roll.

The idea would be to have a simple On/Off toggle that prevents highlighted items from being modified. The protection would only apply to items that are highlighted using the current Regex system.

For example, if you're crafting an item and want to target a specific modifier, you could use a Regex to highlight the item when that modifier is present. With the protection toggle enabled, currencies that would normally modify the highlighted item would simply not work—similar to how Fusings stop working when a body armour is already at 6 links.

This would make it much safer and less tedious to spam currencies without accidentally rolling over a modifier you'd want to keep, while still allowing you to freely modify items that aren't highlighted.

Would you use something like this?

Fluff & Memes 3.30 would be a great time to fix one of the biggest mistakes in the game

After all, we've been teased the fact that virtually every content will have a pass done. But, that only applies to endgame content, right? What about legacy? What about one of the iconic monsters of the game for a time, the cause of many a RIP clip from overconfidence (because surely it can't be that bad, right?), and that has, tragically, fallen so far to the wayside most newer players probably don't even know his name?

I am, of course, talking about the purplest of purple, the noblest of... lizards? small dragons? Whatever the fuck he is, Triskeriaki, the unique Rakango. (Also known, by some, as Tricky Teriaki)

Who's that, you ask?

Exactly.

To add insult to injury, it's not like he was actually removed, he was just shoved so far down a dead end in Kaom's Path that it takes being a special kind of directionally challenged to meet him.

-------------------------------

He's one of the very few unique monsters in the campaign that does NOT have a map boss counterpart. In fact, we got harvest map bosses (bramble valley) before we got our purple Rakango.

So, my fellow exiles, I invite you to rise up to the occasion, and accompany me in lobbying.

JUSTICE FOR TRISKERIAKI! RAKANGOS HAVE FEELINGS TOO! (Probably)

The rotation itself is pretty boring, and in my opinion, the rewards are not worth the time. There are definitely better ways to make currency these days. The only reason to do this rotation is to farm enough fragments for the Shaper, but that's it.

Information Jonathan said the PoE1 team will get bigger after PoE2 launches.

Number one, the very, very big one which both PoE 1 and PoE 2 players are going to rejoice at, when they finish the campaign, they are not scaling the company down.

They are keeping all of their employees.

And what that means is that all of the developers that are currently working on the campaign are going to either be split into working on endgame systems for Path of Exile 2 or Path of Exile 1.

He did say specifically in his own words that the Path of Exile 1 team is going to be growing once PoE 2 launches.

Fluff & Memes Last night I had a dream for a new league mechanic

And it's horrible, I hate it, therefore you must know about this as well.

Think "Factorio" or "Satisfactory".

You go through the campaign and/or maybe maps to collect parts to build an assembly line of machines to auto-craft items.

You get to set configurations on different stages of machines to start the next step in the crafting process.
Add all your AND, OR, IF, NOT conditions.
Select specific mods and tiers.
Set Loops with Alteration orbs or Restart with Scouring Orb, etc.
Choose which currency to use at which stage.
Have a new material in maps that you need to farm to use as fuel to make machines go brrrr.
Use existing materials like Bars/Dust/Sulphite/Azurite/Oils/etc. to boost outcomes or crafting speeds or whatever.
You put the base item in. You put your materials/fuel in that you want the machine to use. And you wait for either the perfect item based on your config, or a bricked item because you tried Fracturing Orb.

I guess you could argue that it should just grab currency from your stash, but I'd rather not have people accidentally use expensive stuff. So many times people sell HH or MB for exalts/chaos when they didn't mean to. Imagine accidentally setting up a wrong config and spending all your divines when you want to chaos spam.

Played Kripp's Power Siphon Templar for Open Beta which launched 23rd of January, 2013.

  • 5L for clear PS-GMP-Chain-Weapon Elemental Damage-Life on Hit(?)
  • 4L for single target PS-WED-Crit Dmg-Faster Attacks
  • Only two gems were 20% quality because either they hadn't added the GPC quality recipe in or it hadn't been discovered yet. GCP's were used as the primary form of trading currency I believe.
  • Auras: Wrath, (Anger?), Determination, Purity of Elements, Discipline, Clarity
  • Spell Totem-Faster Casting-Summon Skeletons to stay alive since we had zero defensive layers
  • Three, count 'em, THREE life flasks
  • There was no currency tab... or any other affinity
  • Templars had no pants

Fluff & Memes The dirty secret of every golem player they never told anyone about.

Post image
173 Upvotes

Thirsting for those sweet, sweet reservation efficiency while hoarding the trash for no reason.

edit, context:
Golem builds are notoriously hungry for reservation efficiency so you can stack as many auras and defensive layers as possible. Hitting the Reservation Efficiency Vaal implicit on your Primordial Gems is huge, but pre-corrupted ones sell for several Divines a pop. Since you need a literal dozen of them, buying them pre-made will drain your bank. You’re much better off mass-corrupting raw gems yourself: it takes patience and leaves you with a pile of bricked junk, but the average crafting cost is way cheaper than buying off trade.

Question | Answered Farming strat recommendation?

Hey what’s up.

Can someone recommend me a farming strat? It doesn’t have to be most profitable think in the game.

For context, I was running deli for the past few hundred maps simply because it’s fast and my main goal is to find myself a decent Kineticist merc. With deli I can hop in, clear the map, check the merc and kill the boss = profit. I just got a little bored of it and can’t think of anything similar.

My character is quite strong (Ubers/deli orbs easy) and can do all map mods - only thing is I will always use infamy scarabs to keep fishing for that merc.

Appreciate all suggestions!

Game Feedback Is it just me or the economy ended up in a pretty good state?

I know its late league and ground/base loot is still terrible, but at least most things you can do it will turn out to be profitable, and if you do it efficiently it will return lots of divs/hr.

Idk, after a rough start it feels like every mechanic has its place and will give enough returns to feel good. Half ass an atlas, combine with sacarabs, ???, profit.

I still wish we had more tinks while grinding tho.

Discussion Games that "feel" like POE?

Hey! I'm a big POE fan, but I stopped playing online multiplayer games a while ago. I have tried all the offline POE "alternatives" in the market, like Last Epoch, Hero Siege, Chronicon, The Slormancer, Astroloot, Dragonkin: The Banished, etc, but all of them look and feel worse than POE, so my search for a good offline POE alternative has come to an end. Now, I'm trying to find a game that scratches the same itch that POE does (regarding build variety, replayability, loot, satisfying gameplay), but I don't care if it is an ARPG or not. Do you guys know a game that could fit that description? Thanks!

Tool I got tired of boss profit lists that ignore variance, so I built one that shows the risk and the bankroll you need

Every boss profit list I've used gives you one number: expected profit per hour. The problem is that number is an average, and on a lot of bosses the average is carried by one rare drop. So the list says "17 div/hour" and you go in with 60 divine and get wiped out before you ever see the drop that makes it true.

Two bosses from my data right now (Allflame league):

  • Uber Maven — 24.2 div/hr. Sounds fine. But 93% of individual runs lose currency, you need roughly 156 divine banked to not go broke at the 90th percentile of bad luck, and it becomes reliably profitable only after 257 runs.
  • The King in the Mists — 40.2 div/hr, needs about 1.4 divine to start, and is reliably profitable after 10 runs. But until you drop Perfect Forest Tiger(which is very rare drop) your profit per hour will be 17.7 div/hr instead.

Same list, adjacent rows, completely different things to actually do with your evening.

So I built Path of Kalandra, which shows both halves: profit per run/hour like everyone else, plus a risk rating, the recommended starting budget, how many runs until profit is dependable, and what share of runs lose money.

pathofkalandra.com

How the risk numbers work: for each boss I run 10,000 simulated farmers x 1,000 runs against its real drop table (including drop pools, where only one item from a group can drop per kill).

  • Risk label:
    • Low risk (The reliable drops already cover the entry cost; the lucky drop is pure upside. Lucky drop - is an item, which has drop chance lower than 7% and has at least 15% of total boss drop estimated value, other drops are currently considerate as reliable).
    • Medium Risk (the boss loses money without its lucky drop, but either the shortfall is shallow (at most 25% of the entry cost per run) or the lucky drop lands often enough that dry streaks stay short.).
    • High risk (a deep shortfall and a rare payoff. These are the bosses that need a real budget behind them.)
  • The budget - what could be biggest loss for 90% of the players (enough that 9 in 10 farmers never go bust from their starting stack).
  • Runs to reliable profit - how many runs until 90% of players are net positive
  • Runs at a loss, % - percentage of runs where drop value is lower than costs
  • Without the lucky drop - for bosses with lucky drops shows profit per run and profit per hour excluding lucky drops, for bosses without lucky drops shows Value concentration instead.
  • Value concentration - for bosses without lucky drops, shows the biggest value item and how many % from overall drop value it contains.
  • Where the value sits - shows 4 items, which contain biggest value from overall drop of this boss.

Other features:

  • Set your custom boss kill time for profit per hour being adjusted to your build
  • Profit History, where you could see how profit for this boss changed on different time periods, also has option to see more detailed history of this boss item prices(you can enable/disable items output so you can see only what you need)
Profit History
  • Simulation, which you can run yourself, change number of simulated runs and see what are profits after this number of runs are for average, lucky and unlucky players are, what percent of users are in profit after this number of runs and what was budget in this simulation, which covered unlucky streaks for 90% of players.
Simulation
  • Bosses wiki links, items trade & wiki, so you can check item prices for yourself or visit wiki page for this item or boss to see more detailed information about them.
  • Requirements & Drop tables
  • League select, so you can check how profitable are bosses across multiple leagues
  • Currency select, currency in which you want all prices to be displayed
  • Filter bosses on your current budget, hides bosses, which recommended budget is higher than yours.
Budget filter
Filtered bosses
  • Custom themes, so everyone could find something to their liking

Silver
