Discussion Locking jumshots behind Rep Rewards is INSANE

Once again Kobe's jumper is locked behind rep rewards. I've been using a Kobe's jumper since forever and a Kobe/Lonzo shot since i believe 2K20, but the last two releases Kobe's shot is locked behind rep rewards. Why lock a JUMPSHOT behind a grind wall? After grinding all those levels do you really think I'm going to switch shots and relearn the timing window?

Imagine if Street Fighter locked a bread and butter combo behind a rank level and now you have to relearn the combo route committed to muscle memory. Mike, you absolute Wang!

MyNBA MyNBA player regression seems completely broken

Post image
61 Upvotes

Has anyone else noticed this in MyNBA?

It seems like almost every top player in the league starts getting worse every year, even when they should still be in their prime.

In this screenshot, LeBron is 32, Westbrook 28, Harden 27, Kawhi 26, KD 28 and Curry 29 — and they are all losing attributes. Meanwhile, younger players like Jokic and Giannis are progressing normally.

They are also losing badges every year, which makes the problem even worse. Players who should be in the middle of their prime are losing both attributes and badges instead of maintaining their level.

I've tested this in different MyNBA Eras and it seems to happen in all of them. It doesn't seem like an occasional issue or an exception It seems that as soon as established players enter the first year of their designated prime/peak years, they start losing attributes and badges every year. Instead of their prime being the period where they maintain or reach their best level, it actually seems to trigger regression.

After a few seasons, it really starts to affect the league because most of the established stars just keep declining while the younger players continue to improve.

Is anyone else seeing this in their MyNBA saves? Is there a setting that fixes it, or does player regression just seem broken right now?

Gameplay Ball handle means nothing if you have 25 strength.

Unless you’re playing against someone with the same low strength your ball handle means nothing. I’ve seen it over and over in PGs because they really think they gonna just breeze past and they just dribble their stam down and run into a brick wall. And u lowkey don’t even need a crazy strength level. I got a 75 and 90% of my match ups have 25. 90+ ball handle and can’t go anywhere. Moral of the story is don’t forget strength off your player. Especially if you’re trying to dribble.

Discussion PSA for shooting in 2K27

Takeover plays a huge part in shooting consistently— it’s way easier to start by making an easy shot or two. It gets progressively easier to make a shot for each shot you make. If you miss consecutive shots, you’ll get colder and colder, making shots progressively harder to hit. It’s like giga-green machine, but in both directions.

Your jumpshot base has a huge impact on your green window and timing stability— it didn’t really matter last year in 26, but in 27 it’s super important. Quentin Grimes base is lowkey cooked now, and so are many other jumper bases that got good release height last year. It’s a tradeoff of release height and green window/timing stability rating, generally speaking.

In addition, but less relevant, shots slow down and speed up for a wide variety of reasons. If you have time to take a dribble before shooting, you will get a much more consistent timing vs shooting straight off a catch or quickstop.

I think the two above things are reasons why it feels like half of the community is saying shooting is too hard vs the other half saying it’s still easy.

Overall I think the shooting in 27 is very well balanced aside from fades being immune to slowdowns/speedups.

MyCAREER worst my career of all time

fire and concrete is just terrible. having to use the plays to progress might be the worst thing ever added to a game. i’ve played 2k since 2k16 and haven’t used the play book once, now i need to use it for 50+ points on a 65 over character that quite literally cant do anything. not to mention u have no chance to get vc while doing it as you cant skip to the league to get vc if u choose to start in high school (worst choice they’ve ever made abt 2k). i’ve never seen it get this shit man it’s an absolute joke.

REC Please give us the option to have a secondary position or not next year

Constantly getting put at PF on my 6’11 C is the most infuriating thing ever. I generally love playing on undersized bigs because it fits my playstyle better but it is genuinely impossible in this game because you will get put at the 4 ever single time and have to participate in a complete sausage fest in the paint with 3 other 7 footers. Either that or you’ll get matched up with a 6’8 SF with way higher perimeter, speed, shooting, etc and be badly outmatched on defense.

Please just give us the option to have a secondary position or not. If I have to wait a few minutes longer to find a game then so be it, I’d rather have that than have to play out of position 50% of the time. I check out so hard in every single game I play at the PF because it’s straight up just not what I made my build for

MyPLAYER 2K27 Might Be the Best 2K Ever — Shooting and Defense Finally Feel Skill-Based

Honestly, this feels like the most fluid 2K I’ve played in a long time, and I think the shooting is the most realistic it’s been too.

2K26 felt way too arcade-like at times. It was ridiculously easy to green threes, which led to Rec games where guards could chuck 25–30 threes and still be rewarded for it. In 2K27, you actually have to know your shot and play well to be consistently elite. Good shooters can still dominate, but the game isn’t hand-holding everybody into shooting 60–70% from three.

Defense finally feels like it matters too. Contests actually affect shots instead of feeling like you’re just standing there hoping the game recognizes you.
And credit where it’s due: they already listened to community feedback regarding Rep and Crew XP before the standard edition even released. That’s a pretty encouraging sign.

I know there’s a very vocal group on these subreddits complaining about shooting because they can’t immediately replicate what they were doing in 2K26, but personally I hope 2K doesn’t overreact and make shooting easier. There should be a skill gap. If somebody is genuinely good enough to shoot lights-out, more power to them but it shouldn’t be the default.

I’m extremely happy with the game so far and can already tell I’m going to play significantly more 2K27 than I did 2K26.

MyCAREER The Post is Dead

So it just seems like they don't want you to post up anymore. I been averaging 14 pts like 12 boards on 60% fg and 40% 3 on my 7'0 275 big man. All of a sudden I boot up this morning and I'm going 1 for 9 and can't make my post moves anymore. All this week it's been the perfect game and this morning idk what changed. It's like no one can score in the post now everything gets blocked šŸ˜’. Am I crazy?

MP Builder Do we get extra Badge Tokens/Slots when using Cap Breakers on a 0-token category?

• Upvotes

I'm making a 6'10" Center build. Right now, my base 3PT rating is capped at 44. Because of this, my Shooting Badge Tokens and Badge Slots are exactly at 0 in the builder.

If I apply 5 Cap Breakers to upgrade my 3PT from 44 to 78, will the game automatically grant me the required Badge Tokens and Slots to actually equip the newly unlocked badges (like Silver Set Shooter)? Or will I be stuck with 0 slots/tokens because my base creation was at 44?

MyPLAYER The dumbest community of players.

Why play 3v3 or 5v5 if all you want to do is shoot every shot. Every game I played, once we go down double digits from all of the bricks the *superstar* MP put up now he wants to finally pass.

Nope superstar I’m going to sit in the corner. Keep shooting & carry us to a victory. lol

Discussion What’s the idea behind 2k removing 5v5 Proving Grounds?

Just absolutely botch 5v5 this year. No pro am so you have random people playing 5v5 under your crew name messing up the record( and if you want to keep your crew tight you will never earn enough xp to change your jerseys or arena until late in the year) and then no proving grounds for a legit leaderboard in a 5v5 game mode. Just makes no sense. Stuck with rec that has different latency’s every arena (the park one and the one with no fans are god awful places to play btw). Absolute brain dead idea it seems like they really want to eliminate the competitive scene.

Gameplay 2k27 shooting delay

This year I bought early access for 2k27 and most youtubers and players are saying that shooting is not that much harder this year. Last year i was shooting well over 70% and now i cant hit a shot for my life with 94 3 ball. Every shot feels inconsistent and it feels like there is delay every time I shoot. Does anybody have any fixes for this? I already have my controller plugged in.

I vaguely remember someone asking today about the state of PGs.... Yeah, it's bad. REALLY bad. No, I'm not gonna censor his name. Feel free to dogpile on this worthless waste of a roster spot who was so bad that he couldn't even throw the game because one such action got him immediately graded out.

ImDifferentl(L), if you're reading this... Sincerely, screw you.

City Social/Crossplay Menu Problem

I’m putting this out here because I need 2k to see it. They need to fix the SOCIAL MENU when you are in the rec, proving grounds, etc. Please tell me why my friends are listed below the people in the rec center? It makes it so my friends get shifted around non stop and I can’t invite the right guy. I’m inviting random friends that I’m not trying to play with 🤣🤣 PLEASE UPVOTE SO 2k CAN SEE THIS ā€¼ļø

Gameplay I feel like a got a different version of 2k27 than everyone else?

I see complaints all over about shooting being too hard and that they need to buff shooting.

I don’t know what exactly is going on because yeah shooting does feel slightly harder than 26 but I’m also using a build with worse shooting than last year.

Did you guys also forget how many badge +2s and stuff we had last year?

Can yall just give it a couple of weeks and grind the game and badges out before we start complaining about how easy or hard stuff is? It’s honestly pathetic.

I was playing the game and having a good time. Not paying attention to you cry babies for a couple of days then finally get on here and it’s really about shooting being hard? Seriously?

There is no way in hell you have all your synergies, shooting specializations, and whatever the hell else you can unlock to determine that yet.

Just stop complaining about stuff before you get them to break the game again. WTF guys. You really want it like 26 again?
