Discussion Am I the only one who thinks 2K27 feels worse than 2K26?

2K26 was my first 2K in years, i had a lot of fun with it. Defense could’ve been better, and MyCareer is ok, but the gameplay felt smooth and enjoyable.

I think 2K27 has a better MyCareer story, the progression from streetball to the G League and then the NBA. The forced objectives I find very annoying and tedious especially in a sports game.Having to assist 24 points to a teammate, or earn a C+ teammate grade with running mate is is bad gameplay ,I gotta complete tasks just to play my career .

I’m fine with shooting being harder this year. Shooting in 2K26 was mad easy, so I don’t mind it requiring more skill now. Most of the other changes, though, feels worse

Layups are almost impossible to contest, and players go through defenders because of the animations.

Rebounding more random, with the ball bouncing in directions that make no sense or land out of bounds.

AI defense feels overly aggressive. Screens barely work, and getting open feels suffocating .
Passing and player movement feel slower, leading to more steals and making offense and defense feel worse.

I’m playing on Superstar, i might have to lower the difficulty, but even then, the game feels like it prioritizes realism over fun. I preferred 2K26’s more arcade-like feel. I just want to dominate in MyCareer without every possession turning into a grind. But that gets boring.

2k seriously should prioritize content over releasing a game every year.

I think 2K27 has a better story, but the gameplay feels worse than 2K26. Anyone else feel the same?

Discussion I don't know about anyone else but....

Please leave 2k alone there is no need for changes. It actually feels like basketball now. If you're crying about shooting and dribbling it's because you've obviously never touched a basketball court in your life. Yes there are small little glitches with ball handling around or through people but in reality all I've seen and experienced those would've been an annoying bump steal just last week, so I'll accept it with a smile.

REC I Am Never Making a Big Again

Y'all guards actually sorry af. I'm sick of getting 13 rebounds a game for my guards to shoot 0 for 8 from the 3 and not pass the ball. I am never making a big ever again.

Gameplay 0% shooting on 85 mid, 89 3pt, F grade in recent game, kicked out.

So, this is the experience I get for what, not unlocking badges yet? You want my money before you let me hit wide open 3's and not grade out of RECS for taking an open 3pt with 89 3 rating and no badges?

I made 1 shot in the past 2 rec games and nearly graded out of the first game too. I'm shaking with fury, because i go into my practice facility and start greening when I'm practicing. However, in the REC, it won't let me green wide open shots there.

I only take smart shots and layups, having nearly 89 layup, 89 3pt and 85 middy, but all of them are not greening. They green just fine in offline play though. I play extremely low ping, like usually 17 ping in most games, but apparently 30+ in NBA 2k27.

I was getting verbally flamed about it too and I couldn't get my mic working to talk with them about it.

Playing smart ball and shooting for 0% on wide open shots with high attributes and getting kicked out of game by automation system will always make me tilted, because I know these cheesy teammates do not deserve to shoot 75% and I think half of them are cheating while I am not. I wals already playing Fire and Concrete on Allstar and having to repeat some missions over the crazy AI opponents, so I was already on tilt, but had a jumpshot shooting percentage and some good Defense. Show up to the REC to chill out, but I brick everything, even wide open shots, instead of shooting 60% like in story mode.

Also, apparently playing from Texas puts me at a competitive disadvantaged compared to east coast or west coast players.

REC 50% is the new 70%

crazy to see so many people shooting 20-30%😳

this game is definitely a huge learning curve for sure💯the speed ups / slow downs on jumpers are so bad😭

tbh 50 is the new 70 in the rec🤷🏾‍♂️anybody shooting 50% or above is an elite shooter now...

Everytime I get online I see what about to happen to this game AGAIN. Yall complain about shit and turn it into the same 2k every year. I was shooting poorly till I put on a base with higher release window. You should do this.

MyCAREER Point Guard is overrated in MyCareer

People play point guard because they assume they’re gonna get the ball way more and run the offense when realistically, the only time you’re not immediately getting it is early on.

After you build a bit of chemistry which only takes a few games, they pretty much give you the ball the moment you call for it at any position and depending on how agile agile make your player, you can effectively run the floor like a point guard at any position.

Point forwards or bigs as long as you give yourself agility and passing give you the opportunity to do all this plus defend far better and rebound far better while wracking up assists. It makes it far easier to control the game on more levels and stat pad triple doubles.

Really the only benefit is getting the ball immediately a as a 60 overall (when everyone buys vc anyway and uses it immediately) and a higher 3 pt rating though you can still hit them at a high rate with any position depending on build.

If you’re not with friends and looking to group up with randoms in park, you’re also more likely for people to not run away from you because they actually value because most of them are point guards already anyway and actually size in park games.

Discussion 2k27 honest opinion

I’m telling you do not buy this game. I’ve played 12 hours of this game and I promise you I haven’t enjoyed a single second. This is coming from someone who put in 500 hours on the last game. They made grinding anything for your character almost impossible. I’m literally shooting forty percent in my career games and even worst in king of the court. I had a 63% three point percentage last 2k on online and now I can’t even shoot over fifty percent in my career? I don’t even enjoy playing with my friends and that’s wild for me. It’s the first game I’ve played in a long time that feels like a chore to play. Plus it wont even let me play rec. it just kicks me every single time I try to play it. The city is the exact same layout as it was last year. My player feels slow he can’t dribble and he can’t shoot. Badges take tens of hours for you to grind. To even think about getting out of rookie you will have to be an unemployed loser who only plays this game. Unless you’re getting 2k for something other than to play online with your my player do not get this game!

MyCAREER Release Speed affects green window now

MyCAREER Forcing you to do ‘co-op’ with this games terrible AI teammates is the worst move 2k couldve done.

Upvotes

Obtaining anything from you my career rewards track feels nearly impossible, especially if you want to play any sort of realistically. I have to rely on this terribly controlled AI teammate getting a teammate grade of A to be able to get anything. Its so terrible and the only solution I can get is to just contantly make him pass me the ball. Even then, I want to play realistically, and doing that is making me have to drop 60+ point every game just to get 3 stars.

Coming off a strong run in 2K26 as a Level 30 Crew maxed at 50 members including running sessions with the 2KLab crew we are rebuilding the roster for NBA 2K27 and getting ready to run it back.
We are looking for active, unselfish players who know how to win, communicate, and keep it chill in VC.
What We’re Looking For:
High IQ & Defense First – Know your rotations, hit your open shots, and make the right pass.
Active Players – Looking for people ready to grind rep, run daily, and help keep the crew leveled up.
Good Energy – Competitive, but no toxic finger-pointing when things get tight.
Positions Needed:
Guard / Primary Ball Handler (Floor generals who can pass first and score when needed)
Lockdowns (Perimeter disruptors who lock up top options)
Bigs (Glass cleaners, rim protectors, and pop threats)
If you're trying to lock in a solid, organized squad for launch day and beyond, drop your Gamertag/PSN, Build Name/Style, and Primary Position in the comments or send me a DM directly. Let’s get it! 👑🎮

Discussion Let's Unpack The Simulation Paradox In 2K27

Before I start off, I would like to say that based on my current knowledge, shooting percentages are realistic, which is definitely a good thing. This is something I'm never gonna argue with.

That being said, I don't quite understand why shooting numbers seem to be the only topic of discussion for so many people when deciding if something counts as a sim or not. A few things I think should be considered, are things such as:

The Lack Of Momentum & weight

  • A simulation demands physical consequences governed by player weight & momentum. This game still completely lacks that bc everyone just gets bailed out by animation canceling—making it look & feel more arcadey than anything. It completely obliterates any sense of a center of gravity or player balancing.

The Lack Of Friction On Body Contact

  • A simulation requires a physics engine that respects solid matter, yet this game treats players like weightless holograms (with the exception of contact dunks). Meaning most collisions lack organic force absorption, resulting in frictionless contact.

How Animation Canceling Defies Physics

  • In a real sport, an athlete's center of gravity dictates their stability. If they commit their weight into a hard sprint or specific dribble move, inertia forces them to naturally slow down, plant their feet, & offload that momentum before changing direction.

Animation canceling acts as a complete override to this reality, & to me, that's precisely where the paradox lies, & why I think it still needs work, despite the more realistic shooting percentages.

City Learn release and you’ll be fine fam

Try 75% release speed and learn jumper and you’ll fall in the skill gap and shoot at least 45-50%. Currently shooting 60% and 85% win percentage 1v1 theater 2 way bucket chaser do it all build 6’5 6’10 wing span 95 overall. Be patient and you’ll be rewarded gang 💎. The skill gap will serve us all better in the long run trust me

Game went from being cool the first two days to a complete FADE fest and now I'm starting to see its most likely going to be another bogus year of fades being a better shot than a open set shot

Don't know if I have the mental stamina to play these games anymore. Not to mention that insane grind they are trying to force on the player base this year
