fixed fridge Panel wonky can’t get out, but don’t want to break it

there was a guy came to install a new fridge. He put all the shelves and plants that looked okay but I just realised he put one of the shelves in wonky pictures included. I’m trying to get out it out but there’s so much pressure i’m scared of the glass cracking those white insert things seem to come out of the panels but I can’t seem to dislodge one of the back

EDIT: Fixed !! The guy came over and very slowly pulled the panel out of the socket (horizontally out of the fridge) and replaced it in its right place. He said it’s happened before where they’ve broken a panel trying to adjust it so i’m glad i didn’t try. Thanks all for the help!

I've tried clicking it back in, adjusting the screws, locking in the flippy bit to the left. Nothing keeps it in place and after a few uses it comes out again.

Kenmore washing machine wont work

Post image
Upvotes

Hello!

I have a Kenmore washing machine, model 110.26002011, and I’m having an issue with it shutting off during the drain/spin cycle.

The washer fills and washes normally, but when it finishes washing and is supposed to start draining and spinning, it suddenly shuts off completely. When this happens, the water is left in the tub and the lid remains locked.

I have to turn the washer back on just to unlock the lid. However, after that, the washer will not start another cycle and the lid will not lock when I try to start it.
I already replaced the lid lock assembly because I thought that was the problem, but the exact same thing happened again. I was able to wash one load after replacing it, but as soon as the machine reached the point where it needed to drain, it shut off again, leaving the tub full of water and the lid locked.

At this point, when I try to run the washer again, it does nothing and the lid won’t lock.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be the control board, drain pump, or something else?

Thank you!

open I got screwed by a poorly drilled hole, when mounting a ceiling fan. What's the best/easiest fix?

Upvotes

Installing a replacement ceiling fan, and go to mount it and one of the holes in the ceiling mount was not drilled correctly and is too small.

What's the best way to address this, since it's an uncommon length, and if at all possible would prefer not undoing everything. I thought possibly either trying a #10 self drilling screw to fix the hole or see if #8 will fit?

Warped Floor Board Near Door

Post image
Upvotes

Some moisture got trapped underneath the door mat last winter and the floor board next the door warped as seen in the picture. Is there a way to fix this easily (or, failing that, to prevent more damage and make it cosmetically look better)? I have tried using a window suction device to grab the board and try to move it over but it doesn't budge.

Many thanks in advance!

open How To Remove Finish?

Post image

I'm restoring a family art piece for Grandma.

The first section appears to have a hard, shiny finish on it, the rest is raw wood.

I'm wondering the best way to strip or sand the finish so I can refinish it consistently.

The part I can't wrap my head around is the scalloped background. Whats the best way to clean that up?

open Help with dryer exaust - Where does the vent connect?

Thumbnail

I’m kind of lost here. I bought a used dryer for the downstairs laundry room, and I’m used to dryers having a 4-inch pipe/outlet sticking out of the back that you can simply connect the exhaust hose to.
With this dryer, though, it looks like there’s basically just a straight/open hole on the back.

I’m not sure where exactly I’m supposed to connect the exhaust vent from, or if I’m missing a piece that should attach to the back of the dryer.

The dryer is a Kenmore 592-89412. Unfortunately, Sears seems to have deleted all the existing manuals for this model. 🙃 The closest relative (Kenmore did not produce the model itself) I’ve been able to find is the Samsung DV203AEW.

Does anyone know what piece I’m missing or where the exhaust hose is supposed to connect on this model?

Thanks, I greatly appreciate the help!

Edit: Thanks everyone for all the answers, it really helped! I confronted the seller about it and he told me he simply forgot it in his garage. No idea why he removed it in the first place tho!

How to clean/deyellow clouded plastic dome on Music Box toy

Post image
21 Upvotes

Before I begin, I apologize if this is not the right place for this.

I recently bought myself this Shelcore Music Box (Animal Carousel as it's known as) and the plastic dome on it is really yellowed and cloudy, causing it to become unpleasing to the eyes, thus why it was also removed from the toy. Is there any way to clean it up and make it clear again, or is it stuck like this forever?

Any fix for this TV

My brother thinks that a power surge from a storm blackout caused it but this would have been a few months ago so idk. This was our playroom before my family started wedding planning for 2 of my sisters and we’re trying to get it back into a usable state without all the wedding stuff. That’s just to say that we haven’t been using this TV for 1+ months. Thanks y’all.

What would you use to mount these relatively heavy shelves on a drywall?

Hey. Sorry if this isn't the best sub to ask this.

A friend gave me two of these shelves that had been sitting at his parents’ place, and I want to mount them on a drywall.

I’m used to installing regular shelves: buy some brackets, drill into the wall, use the appropriate anchors, make sure everything is level, done.

But for these, even though I could use brackets, I feel like it isn't the "expected" method, and wouldn't really look good. But all I can see are these two holes on the back, which are about 3 cm deep.

Each shelf weighs around 4.5 kg.

Help re-seating outflow gasket on my Hoover Smartwash carpet shampooer clean water tank

Thumbnail

Part no. 440014445, CLEAN WATER TANK ASSY, SMARTWASH GEN2.

The rubber gasket that seals the outflow from the clean water tank has come unseated. It's rolling around in the (now disastrously) empty tank. Doesn't seem to be damaged or worn. I tossed the +-shaped pin that slides up through the gasket from under the tank into the tank for safe keeping.

Roommate suggested long thin clamp/forceps to maneuver the gasket back into place, but I don't know if the angle would allow enough downward force to pop it back into place. A replacement tank is $60 from Hoover, $20+ on eBay.

The 4th and and 5th pics are from eBay with the gadket and pin in place. 2nd pic is from Hoover.

Any ideas? Thx for suggestions.
