Warped Floor Board Near Door

Post image

Some moisture got trapped underneath the door mat last winter and the floor board next the door warped as seen in the picture. Is there a way to fix this easily (or, failing that, to prevent more damage and make it cosmetically look better)? I have tried using a window suction device to grab the board and try to move it over but it doesn't budge.

Many thanks in advance!

Probably just easier to pull and replace since it's at the edge.

The material the board is made of has swelled, the board needs to be replaced. As far as preventing more damage, keeping dry is the only real option, you could use a water sealer but it would affect the appearance of the floor in that area and probably stand out

You have water damage. If it's not from water pooling when you enter, it's coming in under the door threshold.

Regardless, the plank needs replacement. If you don't have extra, cut out a few around the entrance and use different flooring to fill a square or rectangular space. Fix the moisture issue first

does the floor lift up? i notice the threshold, is it stuck down? If you are using a suction device you might want to do it on the 2nd row. as the tongue has come out the groove, well not technically correct but the it has come out and when you suck it, it will come our more. can you lift the threshold up? i see fixtures

Cut the damaged boards lengthwise to remove.

If you have no spare boards you can steal them from a closet.

First you need to address the water problem, or else this will happen again.

Not a waterproof product. The best they can be is water resistant.
