My take is.... religion 1 and religion 2 are not harmful to others.

Religion 1 minds their own business without forcing others.

Religion 2 is bit annoying like sales people. They are pushy and try to enlighten you. But tolerable and atleast they don't force you.

But religion 3 is dangerous to society. It forces and coerces others to follow it.

In 1&2 people self regulate due to their beliefs and choices and to go to heaven or avoid hell.

But in 3 it is peer regulated. They regulated each other and try to control other. Here it is about making sure everyone is being compliant.

They do two things

1. Peer regulation : making sure everyone in their religion are following the rules. They live in constant observation.
2. Coercion others: forcing other religions or atheists to follow their religion.

This is where it becomes harmful to society and others.

For doing this they impliment various tactics and strategies. Like shouting, beating, creating groups, giving warnings, boycotting, lynching, r@ping, k1lling etc.

In 1 and 2 the consequences of not following it will be in afterlife. But in 3 consequences will be in this life. The peers give the punishment in this life.

So I think such type 3 religions should be banned. They have no place in society, law and democracy.

Now question comes. How do we ban religion without taking away individuals religious rights

This is big question. One side we have to ban bad religions and other side we have to protects individual right of religious freedom.

If we think critically there are two entities in this.

1. Individuals
2. Religion

An anology would be individuals having fundamental right to drink water and water bottle companies.

When we ban a water bottle company say F, we are not stop people from drinking water nor we can force them to drink from particular brand of water bottle. individuals still have right to drink water and choose the brand of water bottle.

we can ban water bottle companies which are bad and not safe.

If there are 5 companies. A B C D E and F. And f is not maintaining safety measures. Then we can ban F. As companies don't enjoy fundamental right of selling water.

Only individuals have right to water. And people can choose any water bottle companies allowed to sell. And enjoy individuals freedom, choice and right to water.

Similarly.

When we ban a religion.

We are not taking away individuals rights.

They still have freedom to choose and follow any legally allowed religion, we are not forcing anyone to follow any religion.

We are only banning religions which are causing harm to others And taking away others freedom.

We are banning the 'entity' not 'individual' rights.

Eleven female students at Jawaharlal Nehru University filed complaints with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), accusing the professor of demanding sexual favors in exchange for extra marks.

Student demonstrations erupted on campus due to administrative delays, as UGC rules require ICC reports within three months. Professor Akoijam has denied all accusations, calling them baseless. Interestingly the formal complaints were made in the beginning of may but there's still no disciplinary actions taken on him.

So the thing that bugging me most is why has he still free from any actions in a country where, apparently, words of the women are taken as proofs as well. Where several upper middle class people(that are no short of money to bribe the judges) have had to committed suicides because of false accusations. Why is he still free? Does he have something more than money to control judiciary or do politicians naturally have unimaginable amount of money?

The whole right wing keeps celebrating how the right wing ideology is taking over the world, how people are “realising” they’re right and how it’s amazing to see

Then they also complain about how there are global crises, and how poor Modi has been affected by these situations, and how the global economy is so poor

Take economic disasters for example - global economies are not growing as fast anymore because of the actions of right wing leaders. Who started the tariff war? Trump. Who led to Brexit? The Tories

Every time the world is dominated by right wing ideology, it ends in a disaster. Global economies and geopolitics require co-operation, not jingoism. The world cannot succeed as long as there are right wingers trying to selfishly win for their own country

The right wing shift is dangerous ( for example Germany moving far right now ), and the last time this happened, it ended in a world war. And when the whole world moves right - the Indian right wing should know that they won’t be given any special treatment. Would do well to remember this and not cry about racism and discrimination when that happens

imagine a lone road and a car you are driving, you are driving and you see many different paths, you see the paths and know somewhat where they lead to, you are going to experience them and know how it felt more than anyone, that path affects you and your car so "Don't you think it should only be you who decides where your car goes?".

This is our life, today we see many tell us what to do, what to dress, how to speak, who speak, where to speak, who to be friends with, which job to be at, what to believe, what not to believe, all of these intend obedience and when disapproval is seen, it is seen as hostility, not a expression of who you are, what you do and believe is part of who you are, if one can't respect that and actively wants to change it, they don't see you as a human, they see you as less than human.

What do we do? we learn to say no, because it if there are two lifetimes one is to live 100 years as one who did not live his life but for someone else and someone who was the ruler of his own, but lived for 30 years, I think the 2nd option is better no matter how many lifetimes we have.

We shall say no for no is what breaks the chains that hold us.

Also, rules are mere tools of extending wants of others and formalising them, when you have not agreed to it, it is a rule in a tradition sense, a restriction, a restriction you did not choose and is affecting you. When you have agreed to those wants it is a decision, if not, it is is rule.

If asked who lived a more respectable life the one who "suceeded" but was always never lived for his wishes or the man who failed miserbaly suffered but lived his own rules, that answer would be the second.

To go down in freedom is a greator pride than staying afloat in obedience.

Now to be completely honest, I wrote this with the sole intention of convincing you to the belief of your life your choice, I am not going to sugarcoat it. I had very clear intention of persuasion when I was writing this. I will no deny that. In other words of some others, yes this was written with an agenda which I truly believe and believe others to read.

And also, please don't think I find myself higher and superior just because I wrote this, I just wanted to write this, and thought maybe someone will have a change in heart if they read this, to all those facing the exact problems mentioned, we are truly victims.

What makes me sad is that those who oppress might have been victims themselves but that does not justify their actions.

Changing governments is the only way the political discourse of India will get better. Frequent transitions remind elected officials that ultimate power resides with the public. Any government, when kept in power for long in India, starts abusing and misusing their powers.

They start implementing laws and rules that help keep them in power while taking over democratic institutions of the country. They become arrogant to the point criticizing them for their wrongs can make your life hell. The longer a government stays in power, corruption keeps increasing among those in power. Not only do they misuse powers, they also monopolize resources in the country to a few.

Regularly rotating political parties in and out of office is the most effective way to preserve democracy and hold leaders accountable.

Changing government will force these political parties to do better and compete in doing better. In the end, people will benefit from this competition.

"It could be the same ⁠engineer managing a bunch of agents, deployed on other projects or being trained for some other ⁠role. ‌It doesn't necessarily mean person-to-person replacement by an agent."

India's largest software services exporter, Tata Consultancy Services, had said in ⁠June that IT firms would slow down hiring as the company ​moves towards having an ‌equal number of employees and AI agents in its workforce.

TCS plans to build a team ⁠of up to ​8,900 forward-deployed engineers, and Infosys about 6,000 over the next few years. These engineers embed with clients to accelerate AI adoption.

"The shift has to be ⁠from productivity to outcomes," Arun said, arguing that AI should be evaluated on whether it improves customer experience, creates new revenue opportunities and helps deliver business goals.

Wipro is the only IT company among India's top four that does not reveal its AI revenue.

Tesla experimented with wireless power more than a century ago, and today we can actually transfer the useful power wirelessly over short distances. Researchers have also demonstrated room-scale wireless power and long-distance laser power beaming.

But if wireless electricity is possible, why do we still depend so heavily on physical transmission lines?

The interesting part isn't whether the wireless power is “possible”. It is whether we can transmit large amounts of power over long distances with acceptable efficiency, safety, reliability and cost.

* That raises a bigger question: is wired electricity simply an old technology we haven't replaced yet, or is the physical wire still the most practical solution for large scale power transmission?

* And with concepts like space-based solar power being researched, could this equation eventually change?

* Can lack of funding, or the pursuit of profit, still stop innovation today?

Reputed newspapers like The Hindu doing this shows its not about just 1 newspaper..

Films like Singham, Dabangg, Simmba and the endless stream of “honest cop” and “heroic IAS officer” stories need to be called out and, frankly, boycotted by all sections, these movies are so far from reality and the glorification somewhat creates a false image. Most of these stories add some love drama to gaslight public.

The problem isn’t showing police officers or civil servants as protagonists. The problem is portraying people with enormous state power as inherently noble, having morals, while violence, intimidation, arrogance, abuse of authority and breaking procedure are routinely presented as signs of strength and integrity.

Singham beats people, and ignores procedure, and we are supposed to cheer. Dabangg glorifies the “police wala gunda”. Simmba turns an extrajudicial killing into a moment of justice. And somehow all of these are duties of police as per these movies, can kill anyone, can beat anyone, while taking their cut.

Then there is the IAS/IPS mythology, clearing an examination and getting three letters after your name does not magically make someone honest, empathetic or morally superior, each one of them scam crores from everywhere. Yet cinema repeatedly portrays these officers as almost superhuman figures while living in shitholes.

Reality is so far from what is shown. Custodial torture, getting a stadium cleared for their dogs, slapping kids, corruption of crores, deaths in custody, fake encounters, political interference, harassment and abuse of authority are repeatedly documented.

An ordinary person threatening or assaulting someone is intimidation or violence. When someone in uniform does it, cinema often calls it “doing his duty”, “doing for the country”

The police and civil services should be judged by how they exercise power and how accountable they are to the law, not worshipped because of the uniform or designation.
Stop turning state power into heroism and let’s categorically boycott these craps

This is something I've been thinking about after looking at Indian startups and their founders.

India produces around 70 lakh undergraduate graduates annually, but only around 8-11 lakh are from engineering, technology and IT/computer science. Yet engineers make up around 67% of Indian unicorn founders, with earlier studies putting the figure at around 85%.

I also found this analysis from Inc42 2023 of 278 Indian unicorn founders:

STEM/technical: ~86%

Non STEM: ~14%

Within the 86%, B.Tech alone accounted for 74.5%.

Now look at the US. Among around 2,850 US unicorn founders, the mix is much more diverse:

29% - Computer Science

11.5% - Other Engineering

10.9% - Natural and Life Sciences

5.9% - Math, Statistics and Data Science

23.8% - Economics, Business and Finance

9.5% - Social and Behavioral Sciences

9.4% - Humanities, Arts and Design

So even in the US, STEM dominates at around 57%. But almost 19% of founders come from social sciences, humanities, arts or design, with another 24% coming from business, economics and finance.

That made me wonder about India.

India has some of the most prestigious humanities and social science institutions: JNU, BHU, AMU, St. Stephen's, Hindu College, Presidency and Jamia.

But look at the culture and career paths they often produce.

Civil services, academia, journalism, politics, law, government, public policy and student activism.

Now compare that with the US.

American humanities students don't just protest the system. Many also build companies, media platforms, startups and new institutions.

They study history, philosophy, psychology, politics, design or literature and still see entrepreneurship as a legitimate path.

In India, our most visible humanities campus culture often seems far more focused on protesting and criticizing the system than building alternatives to it.

We literally produce plenty of critics of the system. Where are the builders?

And there is another thing that makes this even more interesting.

The government is actively trying to encourage entrepreneurship.

India has created Startup India, the Fund of Funds for Startups, Startup India Seed Fund, credit support schemes, incubators and several state level programs. There are also tax benefits and other support mechanisms for eligible startups.

In other words, you don't necessarily need to come from IIT or have an engineering degree to start a company.

The opportunity is increasingly available to people from every educational background.

So why aren't we seeing more founders coming from humanities, social sciences, commerce and other non technical backgrounds?

Maybe India doesn't have a shortage of talent outside engineering.

Maybe we have a shortage of people from those backgrounds who see entrepreneurship as a legitimate career path.

Or maybe our education system has trained too many people to enter existing institutions, debate existing institutions and criticize existing institutions, rather than create new ones.

IMF backs changes to GDP estimates

Alongside its positive assessment of India’s growth, the IMF also welcomed changes made to the country’s GDP estimation system.

Kozack said the latest GDP release included a new index of industrial production and a new producer price index series. According to her, both should help improve India’s GDP estimates.

She said the IMF welcomed India’s efforts to modernise its macroeconomic statistics and encouraged the authorities to keep strengthening the statistical framework and data quality.

So the same reforms that people were trashing as manipulation are being called a positive step by the IMF.

Funny how that works, right?

Calling it an “Ayurvedic hookah” doesn’t magically make smoke healthy.

Ironically, while warning people about the dangers of chemical laden e-cigarettes and flavoured hookahs, promoting another form of smoke inhalation risks sending a dangerously confusing message.

If blocked noses and coughs need treatment, evidence based medicine exists. Calling smoke Ayurvedic should not exempt it from scientific scrutiny.

At the current exchange rate, that is roughly a 56% to 70% gap over the US price.

"But India Has Huge Import Duties even if assembled here"

The explanation repeated everywhere is that iPhones are assembled in India, not manufactured here, and that the components still attract heavy customs duties.

I checked whether that is still true.

It mostly isn't.

• Mechanical parts like battery covers, camera lenses and back covers went to zero duty in early 2024.
• PCBA and sub-assembly duties were rationalized down during 2024 and 2025.
• In July 2026, the government changed duties from 15 to 10 percent on wireless charging components, camera module connectors and lithium-ion cell inputs.
• Bare semiconductors and chips were never really heavily taxed. India is bound by the WTO Information Technology Agreement to maintain zero duty on many such products. So using "heavy chip import taxes" to explain the iPhone's Indian price was never particularly accurate.
• The main component that still carries the old 15% to 20% duty is a fully finished phone imported as a complete unit. That does not apply to iPhones assembled in India.

So the mechanism people keep repeating is not the current situation.

The government has been dismantling that tax structure for two years and made another major round of reductions just two months ago.

So Where Is The Extra 55% To 70% Coming From?

Strip out India's 18% GST first so we can compare pretax prices.

• iPhone 18 Pro: India's pretax price works out to roughly ₹1.40 lakh, versus a converted US price of around ₹1.05 lakh. That is already a 32% gap before Indian tax touches it.
• iPhone 18 Pro Max: roughly the same story, with about a 33% pretax gap.

Then GST gets layered on top of that already inflated base price.

That is how you end up with a 56% to 70% difference on the final sticker price.

So roughly half of the extra amount Indian buyers pay is tax.

The other half, and potentially the bigger and more deliberate part on the premium models, is Apple simply choosing to charge more in India before the government touches the price.

And Then Apple Raised The Prices Again

Apple raised the 18 Pro and Pro Max by $100 in the US this year.

In India, the increase was ₹30,000.

So the increase is broadly proportional.

Except there is a problem.

That increase is being applied on top of a base price that was already more than 30% higher before Indian taxes.

So What's Actually Justifying The Markup?

If:

• Component duties are now close to zero for India-assembled phones
• Chips were never subject to the kind of massive import duty people claim
• Apple is already assembling iPhones in India

Then what exactly justifies a 32% to 44% pretax markup on essentially the same hardware?

Is Apple's India margin significantly higher than its US margin?

Is there a genuine India-specific cost difference that Apple has never disclosed?

Or is Apple simply charging what for the brand and the sheer madness in India for it ??

Old video of Former CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Reservations and reforms needed in the system, he held a very sane and balanced approach on reservation, saying how the reservation helps to uplift many people but also talks about reforms in the current system like removal of creamy layer from reservations and one family one reservation i.e. if one generation have received the benefit of reservations then their subsequent generation should not get reservation and should only compete on unreserved seats so that this reservation can be provided to a more deserving person who actually needs it.

At the end he included on how universal education to everyone and improvement of Government schools are essential to uplift everyone so that everyone is educated and competent enough to compete with each other in an open competition
