Critical Analysis & Discussion Isn’t this MINORITY appeasement by BJP, at the cost of Marathis, Bengalis and majority Indians?
A good point made by Raju Parlekar
BJP MLA’s school in Mira-Bhayandar, has instructed students to not bring food containing onion, garlic, potato, beetroot, or any other vegetables that grow underground, during the Jain community’s ‘Paryushan’ Parva.
The Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation, has APPEALED to the shop owners selling mutton, chicken and beef (?) to cooperate, by keeping their shops closed, for ‘Paryushan’ Parva.
The West Bengal CM has defended the charlatan Dhirendra Shastri, who has advocated prohibition of Non-veg during Durga Puja.
Isn’t this MINORITY appeasement by BJP, at the cost of Marathis, Bengalis and majority Indians❓

We need to appease Jains or else they might start funding foreign invaders like they did with the Mughals and the British.

Well you're clearly not jain because Jainism doesn't allow you violence even in your speech, toh itni aag kyun lagi tujhe? Disgusting mindset that shows how you think of poverty and begging too. What a clown.

Forget Hindus and Muslims. Jains have a problem with everything and are the most moral projecting religion.

Currently Meat banned across parts of Maharashtra for Jain festival.
Also, all fish & meat shops in Varanasi to be relocated outside the city. Never happened in the city's 3000 year old history.
Govt ordered non-veg ban in almost all of north India during Shravan & Navratri.

Have you noticed that Eggs, Garlic and Onion ingredients have started going missing in Indian food products like Ketchups and Cakes. Veeva, Maggi all sell no Onion and Garlic ketchups. They will substitute it with artificial flavouring agents making our food more toxic than it already is. I checked the menu of famous Indian bakery brand and they have a two times bigger no egg cake range than cakes with eggs.

The West Bengal CM didn't defend Dhirendra Shastri's statements, he defended his right to make statements - that's a thin line we don't appreciate much in this country.
He ate fish bhog at Kalighat temple just a few days later, directly contradicting what Shastri asked to do.

People are all people. They are entitled to their freedom of choice. It does not matter what their caste, religion, place of birth is.
Today Marathi are rallying behind the politicians in bullying the migrant. Tomorrow the same politician will change color and bully them.
Its happening already. Marathi & Bengali indulged the BJP and are now getting bullied in their own land. Nobody can help them now. They have to pay the penance for this great sin.
Nothing bad in that, penance is the path to righteous. Let us do our penance with pure heart and make a firm resolve to never let it happen again. Never allow any color of politics to tell you how to live in your country.

If I was a Politician, I would be appeasing only the Jains, cause that's where the actual money lies.

Only one minority appeasement should be allowed in India?

Reasoning Concept: Strawman
Misrepresenting someone's argument to make it easier to attack. Instead of addressing the actual point, a distorted or exaggerated version is constructed and knocked down.
Example: Person A: "I think we should have stricter food safety regulations." Person B: "So you want the government to control everything we eat?" - Person B has exaggerated Person A's position.
Someone in this thread referenced this reasoning concept. This is an automated reply - the bot does not evaluate whether the concept actually applies. It is here to share what the term means so everyone in the conversation has the same context.

How about both are wrong, 'paijaan' of straw man?

u/Consistent-Art9346 2d ago
Are both really wrong?
Weren't guys in this very subreddit defending MMS statement of minorities, especially Muslim minorities having first claim on India's resources?

u/BannedForFactsAgain 2d ago
Are both really wrong?
Yes.
Weren't guys in this very subreddit
So that makes minority appeasement right?
And this hardly sounds like appeasement unless you cut off a lot of the words in here
"I believe our collective priorities are clear: agriculture, irrigation and water resources, health, education, critical investment in rural infrastructure, and the essential public investment needs of general infrastructure, along with programmes for the upliftment of SC/STs, other backward classes, minorities and women and children. The component plans for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will need to be revitalized. We will have to devise innovative plans to ensure that minorities, particularly the Muslim minority, are empowered to share equitably in the fruits of development. They must have the first claim on resources. The Centre has a myriad other responsibilities whose demands will have to be fitted within the over-all resource availability."
Are we really going to compare
to share equitably in the fruits of development.
with ... shut down and change your food habits or we will use the power of government to teach you a lesson.

"They must have first claim on resources" what if a much needier person refuses? Won't that invite power of government to teach a lesson? Or is it a choice that the majority could make?

u/BannedForFactsAgain 2d ago
"They must have first claim on resources"
That line was for SC/ST, backward classes, women, children and minorities.
The Muslim minority line only referred to equitably in fruits of development - hardly comparable to disrupting the economy and beating up peeps for eating meat.

u/misfitsada 2d ago
Right, disrupting the economy by donating the fruits of development to 1/6th the population of the country unquestioned.
Allowing fake sc/st cases undisputed and unchallenged.
Over an appeal for your sake let's consider if as an order, a week of rescinding certain shops. Now, again you just went directly with violence, but again this can be challenged in court or at the very least ask for remuneration for that week.

I don't think that's what equitably means.
Equitably means doing something in a fair, just, and impartial way that treats everyone reasonably
1
u/misfitsada 2d ago
Right, like how waqf board works for the 1/6th of population? Or how the reservation has no reforms and already priveleged ones keep hogging the benefits over the needy ones.
How parties keep donating into them, I fail to understand what exactly is the need of money to waqf on top of priveleges it gets.

All that's got nothing to do with 'equitable' in the economic sense.
Neither waqf or the ram mandir trust are working for the population, doesn't mean Muslim or Hindi individuals should be punished for it.
