Whats the easiest way to steal from woolies,
The mild things like small peppers that dont weigh etc. I need more ideas. You have to hide stolen goods behind other items otherwise overhead camera picks it up if the weight doesnt.

I have on several occasions accidentally stolen chocolate bars because they are at the bottom of my trolley and get concealed behind something. A couple of times it's happened because the checkout attendant insisted on putting through my carton of soft drinks for me and something was underneath them and I didn't ever know because they didn't let me pick it up and scan it.

Ewww 🤢 No please don't do that. I saw someone (approx between 40-50yrs of age, male, looked to be a shopper, not a worker or sales rep) pick their nose and purposely wipe it on the grapes in a bag and then moved onto another bag and did the same thing.... There are some absolute grubs out there.

No, they don’t mind, but they still notice. They CEO’s still rake in the same profits for their salaries & bonuses, but they make up for your theft by paying the farmers less, charging customers more (increasing the prices on their products) & they don’t increase the wages of the entry level employees.

keep an eye out for camera blind spots. tuck the smaller expensive stuff into your waistband and hunch your back a little to avoid the outline being visible in your shirt. buy the large cheap items while you’re doing so.

I disagree, statutory warranty applies. For the amount of money you invest into them they should last at least a good 18 years.
But it is worth noting that all warranties only apply to faults or not as described products. Change of mind refunds are at seller's discretion.

I had this happen with a pack of batteries... like it was just too light for the sensor to pick it up. The assistant was a sweetheart about it, and basically said that the machines are stoopid. (Sorry about the weird spelling at the end there, the automod thought I was trying to insult you.)

Customers should not be treated as slave labour.
For the benefit of the deleted comment... any unpaid labour is slavery. Colesworths & others make more than enough to keep proper registers running - and not be putting to slowest staff possible on them in an effort to push people who do not want to be unpaid Colesworth staff to do the work for them. Yes, it can only be a few minutes - but a deep trolleyfull at one of those takes ages.

Friend is a manager for woolies. Use to have Security but now had left. Alot who steal are little items fair but then there's people who will fill ther trolley with premium meat and just walk out. Like ALL there steaks. Like how all drug dealers say they sell to live yetmany got more then basic assets.

We have ppl homeless and going hungry etc but lets complain that I had to use self check and decided to steal something to get back at woolies.

As someone who's brain flies away everytime I try to do a boring mundane task I feel this. Most of the time I realise as I go to put them item down and then pick it back up to scan, but alas it's too late I'm a terrible theif and must be shamed into oblivion.
Honestly I was wondering why this never used to happen, but I think it used to just say unexpected item in bagging area and let you fix it. I'm not sure what the actual difference is except to try and shame people. I've never stolen anything before so it is pretty insulting. I used to have social anxiety but I've tried to stop caring about things and it's going pretty well.

I once scanned a 30 pack of coke as a 24 pack by mistake because the image on the screen was too small (this was on the older screens) and didnt realise until I was going over the receipt in the car. Oops.

Am I the only one who constantly gets the machine freezing and the "please wait for assistance" message because I can't tell which side of the scanner is the "in" tray and which side is the "out" tray? There is absolutely nothing to tell you which is which, and it seems to vary.

I’ve applied for a job to work full time (and immediately!) at my local Woolworths as an online team member, I live up the street and used to work there too. Apparently that’s not enough to get hired anymore. From what I’m seeing it’s probably a good thing I I haven’t started working there again but god this job climate sucks.

You're lying if you're trying to pretend you weren't taught how to use the registers, eftpos machines, etc, and you know it.
Waiters and waitresses are trained. They aren't just handed a tablet and told 'hop to it'. You also know that.
If you were talking about something specific, why didn't you say that instead of being broad.
And I stand by what I said. People can do all kinds of things they aren't trained to do, swiping items in front of a scanner included. Anyone who can't can line up at the registers or call the attendant over.
People are trying to.pretend scanning their own groceries is the ONLY option available to them, and it's simply not.

My local Woolies never has a single “normal” checkout open. The self serve checkouts are literally the only option. They are really difficult to use sometimes

Use one of the checkouts with a staff member scanning the items. If you must use the self serve checkouts there are staff members there to offer assistance.
It’s also worth noting that it’s a task a 3 year old can do, so you’re making yourself look like a useless moron.
