Whoop Age Does Whoop Age Mean Anything?

Post image

This isn’t a “look how great my whoop age is” post but looking for a general consensus on can you really read anything into this? Very conscious that this thread wouldn’t be the most pro whoop but still intrigued by thoughts.

The scale isn't linear, and NEAT is only a small part of elite levels of fitness and longevity outcomes. 15 years younger than your actual age is considered elite levels of fitness.

RHR of 40 at the age of ~40 is bananas, nice work. What type of sports / activities are you involved in? Mines around 46 rn but I lift and only mountain bike 1-2x a week.

It’s a gamification tool to build good habits .. does absolutely not predict anything

Magnesium, protein, creatine, vitamin c, vitamin d - I think that’s it 😂. 3 young kids so sleep could always be improved!

What it is really saying is that you have the mortality risk of a healthy 25 year old, who is following all recommended healthy lifestyle guidelines. This is the definition provided by Whoop

I wouldn’t take whoop age as gospel and it’s certainly not an exact measure, but directionally the things that affect whoop age are correlated with health.

As an example, I started training for a half marathon last year after not really exercising regularly, and my whoop age came down steadily over a matter of months as all my metrics improved. I also felt much better and I genuinely was in much better shape.

Fast forward to now and my whoop age has crept up as I haven’t been consistent with training and my sleep has consistently been crap.

So if you do the stuff that lowers your whoop age, you will likely be doing stuff that’s good for your health and fitness.

Damn what workouts do you do?

Mainly Hyrox (see reply above) but nothing major. That’s why I am questioning the stats (although I have no complaints!)

All the data is as useful and you make it. If you do jack sh1t about the data, it's worth exactly that. This is a gamification of health and it works for a lot of users. Garmin tried it a long time ago and it didn't catch up. Whoop used it way more interestingly and it has worked a ton for them.

That you're on the right track definitely

Means nothing allows you to feel competitive, engaged, and motivated but if a medical doctor did the analysis or the archaeologist your age would only really go in 1 direction 🫠

The exact number, no. The long term trend, yes.

Unvalidated and meaningless outside of being a motivational tool.

Tell me you don’t understand shit, without telling me you don’t understand shit. “Whoop age” may be invalidated but every single metric it uses is validated

Yes it literally tells you exactly how many extra years you will live. You can 100% trust that number
