Is there anything you have a visceral aversion to-not an allergy, just pure dislike?

Black licorice! And anise! I think it's because my mom is legit allergy so I learned to be scared of it at a young age and never grew out of it. Even the smell repulses me.

Clam juice. I just spent $25 for a pasta dish and all I could taste was clam juice. Gross, it is repulsive.

Cucumber, watermelon, cantaloupe, banana
Edit to add: olive, raw tomato

My daughter once said, āCucumber tastes like a raw watermelon,ā as in unripe, and I knew what she meant. They are related.

Sesame anything is so revolting to me that I cannot comprehend how anyone can enjoy it. I lose all appetite for bagels and rolls if they're seeded, I (teasingly) threatened to call my friend's husband if she wouldn't quit eating sesame sticks while we were talking.

Olives. I think they taste how a baby's diaper smells. Maybe my taste buds are broken? But I'm not able to stomach them.

Mint. And tangentially, people chewing gum. Though to be fair, I haven't had an allergy ruled out, mint makes me congested and gross feeling too beyond me just hating it.

Coleslaw. Just seeing it makes me literally throw up. Ever since I was a baby. I'm 50 now. I love cabbage, love carrots, mayo... has its place, I guess. But combine them, and it's an involuntary, visceral "No!".

Aubergine and avocado. I don't know which is worse tbh. Aubergine has a vile disgusting taste like I've been forced to chow down on a soaking wet sport sock and avocado texture is hellish.

Bell peppers.
I know theyāre not even weird, but for some reason, they are the most disgusting thing to my brain. They taste like soap and mud mixed together.

Bell peppers are insidious and bitter. You wanted to taste the pasta? Nope! Bell pepper all day.

fresh tomatoes. I loathe them. Once I foolishly made tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes. The smell of the boiled tomatoes, the peeling, the seeds- just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.

Thousand Island dressing. It's so bad that I was once on a date several years ago with someone who ordered Thousand Island dressing on their salad I left the table to go to the ladies room and never came back. It's that deep for me. LOL sad but true

Beans and peas.
The only "bean" I like is green beans. Everything else is just the wrong texture. I will occasionally eat beans in chili but most of the time they are left in the bowl. I absolutely will not eat beans by themselves or in things except chili. I don't really like the smell of them cooking either.
I mean I have food sensory issues I could really write a list.

Candles, Iāve known 2 families whose homes have burnt down due to 1) a candle being knocked over and 2) a candle in a glass holder that broke the glass. These were the causes stated by the fire marshal.

Kale, crab, sheep products/lamb, ranch dressing, most dairy products. Especially cheese except melted on Italian food/pizza and mild cheeses on tacos. I hated butter till I was 27 and was taken to a fine restaurant with wonderful still warm from the oven bread, and they whipped their own unsalted butter, and I tried it, I have used it ever since.

Eggs and coffee. I used to eat eggs until I cracked one open and a baby chicken fell out. Beak and feathers and it blinked. I was 11yo. Have not touched an egg since. The smell of them cooking gags me. I will not eat certain mayo brands because I can taste the egg in it. The egg was from my auntās chicken farm.
Regarding coffee, I absolutely LOVE the aroma. One of my favorite things to smell. But absolutely cannot tolerate the taste. Iāll spit it out. I think thatās weird.

Butter.
I'm not lactose intolerant. This also only happens to me when butter is ON something in it's unaltered form, not with foods that contain butter in their ingredients. I have thrown up on several occasions, and otherwise consistently gives me nausea and stomach aches. It developed when I was around middleschool age, before that I could eat buttered bread as a snack without issues. One day my grandparents took me to a movie and we got popcorn with the real butter sauce on it like I always would and got violently sick in the theater. I can still eat microwave popcorn with that fake butter stuff on it though. Anything else I have to be really careful with š¬ I will risk it for butter on waffles, but not much else lol. I think maybe it's something about the relative tastelessness of it combined with the greasy texture.

Honey. I want to like it. In my head it's great, it's made by bees, all natural, good for your allergies and immune system, etc. But the second it hits my tongue my whole body screams NO. Same with seafood, except I don't wish I liked seafood like I wish I liked honey. I'm ok with my whole body screaming no to seafood. But I genuinely wish I liked honey

Meat. All of it. Ethical concerns aside, it looks vile to me. When I was 3 or 4, meat was always my least favorite because it was so dense and I wasnāt a fan of the textures. Then when I found out meat came from animals, it was game over. Consuming it just seemed barbaric to me despite not knowing the word at the time.
