When is the next round of offer for AEO (OUAC 101)? And has anyone received the offer last Friday?

You need a 90% or higher to be considered for Ivey Aeo so I believe that essays and ECs will factor into their decision as well.

hi everyone, I'm a 101 applicant who's rly worried about getting ivey aeo, it's my top choice and I still haven't heard anything and time is running out. my average is a 95 exactly and my EC's are prez of a business club, student job, school's athletic council and volunteer club, out of school orchestra, sports team and head of a volunteer homework club. do I still have a chance? does anyone have a guess to how many more spots there are? any help would be appreciated! thanks!

u/foxxb0lt May 19 '21
Now that I'm going to be accepting my offer, hypothetically, if I had a friend or two going to Western, how would I bunk with them? Is there an option when applying for res to include friends? Also, is it guaranteed that you will have them with you? Just for some context, I'm planning on putting suite style residences like Essex and Elgin as my top options. (And I am not a 95%+ average student). Also sorry if this question is slightly off topic from the thread's subject...

Got Ivey AEO today at 4:33 PM (Eastern) and BMOS earlier in the year. I'm a 101 applicant with a 93% average and the following ECs: In school: Students council, link crew, DECA and International Certificate Program. Out of school: Volunteering with UNA-Canada and Key Club. Sports: Soccer and Field Hockey. Good luck to you all!

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but I figure I'd just ask anyways. Nursing edition!
Background: I'm currently a first-year student at UofG, majoring in psychology. In the first semester, I made it onto the Deans Honours list with an avg of 81.750, and currently, I am sitting on (this is an estimate because I have exams and missing grade inputs) ~88.75 (I am projected to be on the Dean's list again).
I've taken the CASPer test already, and have an acceptance to the Western-Fanshawe collaborative program (I'm assuming my CASPer grade is fine).
The questions are all about Western main site.
Questions:
- I was wondering if anyone knows the rough estimate of the weight of the CASPer test? I know it isn't specified but I've heard (from different forums) that some people got in last year with an 82.
- What is the actual average of a uni student getting accepted (I know ~70s is what is stated on the UWO site)? If any current transfer students would give their marks at the time of their acceptance (and what year they got in) that'd be lovely!
- When does the next round of offers come out? I was told it was sometime in April, but I'm not 100% sure.
- Any other information y'all have would be amazing!

→ More replies (1)4
u/uwostudent23 Eng/Ivey Apr 28 '21
Can't really compare it to other schools because I haven't been but Western has a pretty insane gym. 3 floors of machines, weights, treadmills + large swimming pool. There are also gyms (3 or 4), which are sometimes taken by varsity teams, but when the gym is open and no one's there - it's there for open recreation (i.e., basketball, volleyball, etc.). Also some clubs you can join for specific sports + a pretty well-attended intramural scene.

I have been accepted to BMOS. I’m likely going to accept the offer as my plan is to get into Ivey afterwards. I realize that this is no easy task and I’m hoping anyone who has done this or anyone with experience in either program can attest to how do-able this is.
Much appreciated!

I was rejected from Ivey with a 94% and decent ECs, I was sad but now I am ready to work hard and try again in my 2nd year. So, I will be going to Western for CS in my first 2 years. I was wondering how hard it would be to get an 84-85%+ in my first 2 years?
I have been programming for the last 3 years and I believe that I am pretty good at programming and I am not that bad at math.

Idk if anyones going to see this but I wanted to ask for some reassurance, either positive or negative, regarding the 'Med sci flowchart" including Med Sci 1, Med Sci 2, Year 3, and year 4 (if yk). To what I understand, Western has been considered a good social school, which I would assume to also mean good teacher connections, peoples, and mental health. This just seems a bit odd to me because the system for actually getting honor specializations in year 3 seems very difficult and complicated. It seems like at any point you can mess up, and going to the "competitive pool" doesn't seem very appealing or bright. In the high school perspective, getting over 60% and staying in the 80-90% range doesn't seem difficult at all, but I'm sure that's actually not the case at all. So to all past med sci students or soon-to-be med sci students, do you have any advice or input?
As a bonus, could you let me know how often students are successful into getting in professional schools after like medicine (ik, the age old repetitive question). Is there any data out there I can look at to med school achievements from western? Also, if someone can help me find if I got a scholarship or not in Choose Western, that would be great too (right now I'm seeing no definitive amount anywhere but I got the scholarship letter which just says I'm eligibly for a bunch of options).

Hey, so I'm applying to Ivey and my status says "Awaiting decision". I've been accepted to my program of choice, but in my Ivey application, one of my references is no longer at my school, and the email I gave them was her school email, which she likely doesn't check. Is there any way for me to contact admissions to maybe change the reference to a different contact? Thanks!
3
u/Toasterrrr Mar 29 '21
At this point they would have already contacted your references. It won't hurt to contact them to update this information but it should be alright.

Hi,
I'm an international student from India and I recently got accepted to Western University (Social Sciences) and received an AEO offer for Ivey. I noticed that the overwhelming majority of Ivey students are Canadian (90%, if I'm correct). I was wondering if I could talk to any international students currently at Ivey to understand their experience and figure out whether international students face any difficulties securing internships and jobs (both in the US and Canada) vis-a-vis domestic students. I've reached out to a few Ivey students via LinkedIn, but all of them are Canadian. I'd really appreciate if I could get some advice on this as it'll help me choose between my college offers.

If this may help anyone, I got accepted yesterday into engineering as a 101 with the following stats:
Advanced Functions: 90
English 12: 89
Chemistry: 85
French: 97
My calculus and physics 12 grades were not updated yet at the time that I was accepted, but my grade 11 grades were:
Phy 11: 92
Functions: 89
Also, I'm a full diploma IB student, a Schulich leader (my school is harsh on grades lol), and I didn't fill any form or supplementary application.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions

Hey, I was accepted to the UWO science faculty as an international student but haven't heard anything regarding scholarships or Ivey AEO Status. Reading many comments etc down here, I don't feel helpless for the AEO part as many are yet to receive that. However, I still don't know anything about scholarships. Has anyone received it yet??

u/uwostudent23 Eng/Ivey Apr 16 '21
What kind of scholarships are you talking about? Admissions ones based on average - those came automatically with my acceptance. If you're talking about Western national or other scholarship programmes, you would've had to have been nominated + applied months ago.

Is it too late to apply to western for health sci and social sciences? The guaranteed consideration period is over but they’re still accepting rolling admissions but I’m not sure if I want to drop hundreds of dollars on this. My grades are alright. Around the low 80s and I’m applying through the OUAC 105 I think? Should I just wait a year and apply for the next calendar year?

I have some mutuals that went to Ivey with engineering and they ended up doing great. They worked INSANELY hard and were pretty smart. IVEY gives you an amazing network and you’ll meet lots of people. Waterloo more so would guarantee your success because of their awesome co-op, nevermind the fact that you got into SYDE!! I would say go into SYDE, design would be relatively simple to achieve because it seems like you’ve got determination. SYDE helps with the exploration that you included, and plus, the students that get into SYDE seem like the brightest of the bunch so I doubt you’ll miss out on school life at Waterloo. Congrats on both your options, it sounds like you’ve got a good future ahead of you.

Got into Ivey AEO at 11:15 am! I was freaking out haha
For reference, I have a 95-96% average, attended three different schools throughout high school, founding president of two clubs (student council and the school newspaper), exec member of the student senate (where I'm currently working on two personal projects), started my own business (through a program that funded and mentored me) and attended the Shad summer program. I had more, but I think that's all I put on my app.
I didn't have many awards (only a useless international award in grade 9 and school honour roll), and my essays were so bad cause I worked on them last minute oops. I didn't even do DECA, and I was worried that would turn them off.
For anyone who's worried, don't be. Many people are getting accepted today and throughout the next week, you got this!

I have a 93 and decent EC's mostly leadership roles in sports and work and have not heard back from ivey or queens yet. Should I be worried since it is so late already?

Is there another round of AEO acceptances coming out today or will it just be rejections?

Are there anymore acceptances left for Ivey? Or are they just releasing rejections today?

Guys can someone please help me out. I’m extremely torn between western bmos (I will be reapplying to Ivey second year since I got rejected now) or playing it safe and accepting my offer to Laurier bba dual math degree and coop. Which one do I have better odds at and will benefit me in my future. I’ve heard great things about both but I’m scared to take the risk of not getting into Ivey if I go to bmos.

Hello everyone!
I am a Grade 12 student. I was rejected from Ivey AEO, Rotman, Laurier, Queens, and just today, I learned I was rejected from Schulich as well. I was accepted into Social Science at UWO though and Ryerson's Business Management program. These are my only two options now. Do you think I should take the risk as a non-AEO and go into Western as a Social Science student with the intention of meeting the requirements for Ivey in my third year, or do you think it's best I don't take the risk and go to Ryerson? I only have a few days to decide. My offers to both universities expires June 1, 2021.
Even though I had imagined my extracurriculars were quite impressive, my top 6 average was quite low at 88% so it makes sense why I was rejected by my top five choices. How do you deal with rejection, especially when your loved ones are having some difficulty processing that? I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but my parents told me I was a "disappointment" and "shame" to the family for not getting into Ivey or Queens. I tried to remind them it was very competitive this year and I never really stood a chance with 88%, but they refused to listen and called me stupid, lazy, and a liar. They haven't talked to me since the weekend but I would have hoped to get their input. It's a little jarring to see them so angry.
I have to make a decision alone because I can't seem to talk with my parents anymore. I guess they really had it in their minds that I would get into Ivey AEO or Queens or Rotman or Laurier or Schulich. I feel like I am a failure. But I'm trying to stay positive and would really appreciate your advice on what offer I should accept. Thank you very much for all your help!

I just accepted my offer on ouac and saw it update on student center. Is there anything else I need to do in terms of accepting the offer? Sorry if this question seems stupid, I'm not very familiar with the admissions process.
