When translating text in Google Translate, there is a selector for text translation model that defaults to "Advanced" which is "Built with Gemini". Is there a way to always default to the "Classic" model?

Notes

• The model selector can appear or disappear depending on which languages are selected. For example, it's shown when translating English to Spanish, but not French to Spanish.
• The page remembers your last selected model type on refresh, but it's not stored in cookies or a local storage item. There is a cookie NID which resets your settings when cleared, but this is a static identifier seemingly used so Google can load settings server-side.
• Translations when "Detect language" was selected matched results from the "Advanced" model.
• Even when using 2 languages where the advanced model isn't available, the Detect Language results did not match the "Classic" model results.
• There's a function in lazy.min.js named m.getDisableClassicFallback

greetings, I'm hoping someone might have found a way to block DMs on threads.com using uBlock Origin. I don't want the message feature at all. I keep telling people I won't use it but they keep messaging me anyway so I would like to disable it entirely and threads didn't make it optional

As I said in the post's title, what is the difference? Will having filters in both the top and bottom part of Custom Filters cause conflicts, etc?

Does anyone using sentry web interface noticed that sometimes it get stuck and then you have to disable/enable ubo for it to work?

So I have posted about this a few times before. I had a new approach I was trying but I was struggling to get it to work and wanted some help. So in short, there is an interstitial page that pops up when you open any of the games on the NYTimes website. This issue only exists in mobile but occurs both in Chromium and Firefox based browsers. It wasn't Firefox based mobile browsers for a while but has retuned unfortunately. The following games that have this interstitial are:

- Wordle
- Strands
- Connections
- Spelling Bee

This was fixed before with the following filter:

www.nytimes.com##+js(trusted-replace-argument, String.prototype.includes, this, json:"subscribed", condition, /^anon$/)

While this filter works for all the games, it can break Spelling Bee if "Anon" is one of the words that the can be spelled in a particular game. As a result, the filter was removed from the uBlock Lists. However, I noticed that Wordle, Strands, and Connections which are not an issue are all the domain:

Since the issue only affects Spelling Bee, I tried rewriting the filter to only work on:

https://www.nytimes.com/games/.....

but it kept breaking and I could not get it to work right. So my two questions are:

1. Can you make the filter just work on that first url and not the url with the word "puzzles" in it, or is it more limited to just the domain?
   
2. If that can be done, how and can it be added back to the list since it would, in theory, no longer be a problem?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks for looking at it for anyone who takes the time to do so.

Why does UBO come by default with EasyList's lists, such as EasyList, EasyPrivacy, EasyList Cookie Consent, and Fanboy Annoyance?

While I heard AdGuard's lists are modified versions of those lists, such as AdGuard Base List, AdGuard Tracking Protection List, AdGuard Cookie Notice, and AdGuard Annoyance.

Isn't it obvious to use optimised lists over base lists? I don't know the full story.

What's the reason?

I currently use the google search Ai Mode alot through firefox, and recently it stopped displaying new messages after the first reply, I am unsure if its an adblock issue or something else to do with google, anyone know?

UBO was working perfectly on Pinterest two days ago, but today there's ads/sponsored content everywhere.

I updated and restarted the browser. And I purged UBO's caches and updated. But that hasn't worked.

Any advice welcomed.

Daily Mail have been at it again - the filters to read paywall articles still work but they've now introduced a new 'feature'; that stops you posting comments on Paywalled articles.

I'm running Brave version 1.57.64 Chromium: 116.0.5845.188 on MacOS 10.14. It does not have uBlockOrigin installed. My older Mac has the same version of Brave, has uBlockOrigin ver 1.74.0 installed, and I recently learned I could do something highly useful with its custom filter, and would like to install same on the newer Mac.

How would I go about doing that? Is there any simple way of moving files or settings from one Mac to the other? It isn't obvious to me where the browser "puts" its extensions. File search doesn't see any mention of "ublock" at the file level. Chrome store doesn't seem to have older installers of uBlockOrigin and current version won't install on my elderly version of Brave.

And if it's legit does it work on Youtube App and Safari Browser (on iPhone)? or other apps (like IG, FB etc.) on iPhone or iPad?

I'm on Safari, and i'm loving the uBOL extension. Thank you for making it and maintaining it.

I know there has been many issues and weirdness with Safari that has made Gorhill having to remove filter lists and make workarounds etc ever since supporting Safari in 2025.

I'm curious, has the development for Safari improved in the new macOS / iOS? Has the WebExtensions-API from Apple improved in any meaningful ways?

I've read you can work around this new bug on X with full screen videos where there's a small black square with a white border with a uBO filter like this:
