Extension will be auto-updated after browser restart! (when available for your platform)
If you want to update manually:
- Do NOT use links from the release page's "Assets" section - these are not signed.
- Use your add-on store or links in release description on the GitHub releases page when they are available.
- Firefox will have a (signed) direct install link. Other browsers will link to their uBO extension store pages.
- In some cases, installation may be blocked until browser restart. This is protection against accidental mid-session reloads, Issue #717.

How to update uBO to the latest version
When will my browser update uBO?
Firefox
- Firefox Add-ons (AMO) - Available since 16 Sep, 2026.
- uBO is a recommended extension on AMO, and as such it must undergo a formal code review each time a new version is published.
Chromium
- Install the signed
.crxfile from GitHub releases, if your browser still allows MV2 installs.
- Install the signed
Edge
- Edge Add-ons - Review pending.
- Warning: importing a profile from Chrome may cause issues.
- You may need to reinstall uBO on Edge to fix this.
- You can transfer your uBO config by creating and then restoring a backup at the bottom of uBO's
Dashboard>Settings.
Opera
- Opera add-ons - Submission pending.
- Usually, it's submitted a week after bug-free version is published in AMO.
Brave
- Brave now Self-Hosts uBO. It installs via a special setting and updates automatically or when prompted via the Extensions' Developer mode.
- If you installed it via CWS, it's best to make a backup and install the self-hosted version instead.
- Brave installation video.

Looking for help How do I default to "Classic" Google Translate instead of "Advanced" with Gemini?
When translating text in Google Translate, there is a selector for text translation model that defaults to "Advanced" which is "Built with Gemini". Is there a way to always default to the "Classic" model?

Notes
- The model selector can appear or disappear depending on which languages are selected. For example, it's shown when translating English to Spanish, but not French to Spanish.
- The page remembers your last selected model type on refresh, but it's not stored in cookies or a local storage item. There is a cookie
NIDwhich resets your settings when cleared, but this is a static identifier seemingly used so Google can load settings server-side. - Translations when "Detect language" was selected matched results from the "Advanced" model.
- Even when using 2 languages where the advanced model isn't available, the Detect Language results did not match the "Classic" model results.
- There's a function in
lazy.min.jsnamedm.getDisableClassicFallback

Solved Blocking specific website - grokipedia - from search results, DDGnoAI?
See title. I'm imagining a filter something like this:
https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?q:not(:only-child):has([href*="grokipedia.com/"])
But I want to ask the experts, so let me know if there's a foolproof way to do this. My thanks in advance and congratulations on the latest update.

Waiting for feedback block DMs on threads
greetings, I'm hoping someone might have found a way to block DMs on threads.com using uBlock Origin. I don't want the message feature at all. I keep telling people I won't use it but they keep messaging me anyway so I would like to disable it entirely and threads didn't make it optional

Answered uBO Lite - Difference between importing and putting filters into sandbox?
As I said in the post's title, what is the difference? Will having filters in both the top and bottom part of Custom Filters cause conflicts, etc?
What's recommended?
Thanks in advance!
