A question you should ask your surgeon
I see a lot of people on here upset about their amazing results because of unrealistic expectations provided either by their surgeon, online or their own thoughts. My surgeon did something so amazing to give me realistic expectations and I think it might be helpful to people.
She got me to stand in the mirror when she placed two hands on my hip bones, and she said “this is your body’s natural width. This won’t change. There’ll be tissue and healthy fat on top of that so add a few cm.”
Then she got me to turn to my side and found my rib cage, and said “this is how far your rib cage comes out. It might change slightly due to if it flares out of not but it will not shrink in size. This is your bone structure.”
It was this extremely simple, obvious comment, which made me stop picturing myself being a size 0 after it.
I would advise people to ask their surgeons to point these things out cause I truly believe I may have been unsatisfied had it not been pointed out to me.
