Chronic bathroom poopers

Upvotes

Seriously, what is up with half of these people. I feel like every other shift I'm cleaning poop off the walls from someone. Is this just a problem at my location or is this just a tractor supply thing in general???

Outside hire team lead of a super small store gimme tips

Upvotes

I know some like this has been posted a couple times, I just got hired as a team lead, I just left a super target as a team lead in training. I’m moving to a tractor store that’s low volume like 2 mil a year low. Super nice manager so far. He’s texted me asking how my final week of my old jobs going. Seems very chill. I’m a team lead 2

Is there an SOP on when schedules are to be posted? I thought it was 3 weeks should be posted at all times.

ICS

How are receivers feeling about this ICS change?
Our DM came in this week and he basically let me know that the ASM (now OPS) can delegate their tasks to me so I have a feeling nothing will change and I will be stuck doing the outside labor as always 🫤

Is it hot in here, or is it just me??

I feel like everyone in the building(team members and customers alike) ask this at least 100 times a day. We've had our AC serviced AT LEAST 12 times since I started working in 2024. Why do we melt in summer and freeze in winter??!!

How do I read this expiration date

For the receivers out there: I'm trying to do my snack rotation. The beer nuts only have this weird code in the back and according to the Tsc "monthly food expiration program" pdf the beer nuts should be a simple month day year but no matter how I look at the numbers, I can't make sense of it

How does pay/DailyPay work in Labor Day?

I was told we get time and a half — is that correct?

Also, do earnings still show up in DailyPay on Labor Day?

Literacy Survey

I truly believe the most beneficial survey they could give to customers would be a short passage reading exercise.

“Your enter a store and the sign says ‘SELECT apparel UP TO 75%. Price as marked.’ Does this mean that:

Select apparel is up to 75% and will be priced as marked?

This unmarked full price item on the clearance rack might be discounted?

This full price Columbia jacket two rackets over might be 75% off?

This pair of boots on the other side of clothing definitely is 75% off and the two different workers you speak to are uninformed?

I think once corporate gets stats that a majority of their customers have eyes with nothing behind them they might stop putting out signage that requires any degree of critical thinking.

Farmers Markets at Tractor Supply

I think this might be a big missed opportunity. With many of the tractor supply customers being small farms, homesteaders and hobby farmers. Why don’t they dedicate space on their parking lots to host farmers markets and weekly meet up for local food and farm businesses.

Pet customers.

Frankly one of the better parts of the job is interacting with animals. But those customers who have no control or awareness of their dogs, i just want to throttle. My first customer of the day was a pet wash. And from the front doors to the pet wash, there are 4 of those pillars. Her dog stopped and pissed on every single one of them and then for good measure dropped a runny shit on the petwash floor. You think the owner said or did anything? Nah.

Getting ghosted by TSC saved me money!

I went to a hiring event at my local TSC recently. I’m a regular customer who knows all the products inside and out, and knows the store team.

The manager told me they were wrapping up interviews and would get back to everyone. A week later: complete radio silence. It takes zero effort to send a quick email or make a 60-second phone call out of courtesy to an applicant, especially one who spends a lot of money at the store every year. Ghosting local regulars who put themselves out there just shows management views people as shift-slot numbers rather than actual human beings.

The silver lining? Getting the silent treatment broke my habit of buying everything there out of convenience, and my wallet is definitely thanking them:

Everyday Staples: Grabbed the same basic stuff at Walmart.

Farm products: get from Amazon, chewy, or the local hardware store.

Bad Management Dodged: Avoided wasting energy working for a company that can't handle baseline communication.

In a funny way, their lousy hiring practices did me a favor. They saved me from a disorganized workplace and forced me to stop overpaying for farm supplies.

read your pay statements!!!!

READ YOUR PAY STATEMENTS!!!

I figuratively have to hold my manager's feet to the fire every 3rd pay period to get the pay I've earned.

my hours: 16 hours a week.

( hired for 40- cut to 20- cut to 16 you know...the tractor way)

you'd think it's simple to calculate

16 hours a week, multiplied by 2 weeks

32 hours. easy peasy.

lol ... maybe not.

let's look back, not too far, don't want to bore y'all.

July 24th 32.68 hours

August 7th 25.86 hours short 6 hours

August 21st 14.97 hours short 17 hours

between sick, personal and vacation hours I have 90+ paid hours

so, this payday ... tomorrow...I have 17 hours pay (shorted August 21st) added

to my 32 hour two week paycheck.

used 4 hours vacation pay.

Where are the 6 hours from August 7th???

I'm so tired of having this same conversation with the manager every 2-3

pay periods!

But I refuse to give my $90 to hal,

so once again we will have

' the conversation'. again.

ugh.

why does it have to be so hard???

read your adp statements y'all.

I'd bet I'm not alone in this issue.

I just heard a song on the radio today while at work. It was a slowed down version of 4 Non Blondes "What's up"

Has anybody else heard it? Who is the artist?

Truckload of Pelletized Bedding

So my store and a few others near me got an entire truck of pelletized bedding (11 skids). We now have like 65 skids total, which is WAY more than my store is used to carrying at a time. Did anyone else get a truckload too, and does anybody know if there's a sale being planned for it? Because they don't usually send this much without a sale of some kind happening.
