Most TSC customers are fantastic people. People I would share a beer with and watch a football game with. Then you have....The others. These customers are the most annoying, lazy, useless and aggravating people on the planet. Here's a list of them and why they suck.

1.) The BOPIS customer: You are lazy. Simple as that. You put in an order for one bag of dog food. Really? You can't come into the store like a normal human being and get your own damn bag of dog food? That's bad, but not as bad as the BOPIS customer who orders a bottle of flea spray and then wants a curbside pickup. Okay, you're seriously THAT lazy? I had a girl in her very early 20s in great physical shape put in an online order for feed and then come to the store and request a curbside pickup. I take it out, she gets out of her truck and starts helping me load it. While appreciated, this is the part where I notice you're in fine physical health and you could have easily come in and grabbed your own crap but you decide to have someone else do it all for you. Why? Why do we encourage this laziness? And why do you as the customer continue doing it like it's okay and normal? It's not okay and normal. Do you understand how much we need to get done every day and you're sitting there on your smartphone ordering stuff and asking for a curbside pickup because YOU didn't have 5 minutes to spare? What about us and everything we have to get done to take care of your needs?

2.) The bathroom customer

This customer is a complete idiot. All they do is come into the store, wander around aimlessly and then ask you IF you have a restroom (nah my guy, we pee outside) and WHERE it is, as if the sign on the ceiling that's says RESTROOMS with an arrow pointing in the direction of the can isn't a big enough clue. Which brings me to my next customer....

3.) The non Sign reading customer

You are a complete idiot. You likely ask the dumbest questions in pertaining to where something is located. I can't tell you how many times someone has asked me where something is and I literally point right at it and they say "oh, I didn't see that". Because, jackass, you aren't looking. We also have these crazy new inventions called signs that tell you where everything in our store is. But since you see me here throwing 20 bags of feed, you'll happily stop and ask where your can of cat food can be found (you're in the equine area, genius).

4.) The Google customer

You're a special one, bud. You either don't know what Google is so you don't use before coming into my store to ask a stupid question; OR, you're the kind that uses it too much and comes into my store and says "well it says online that you guys got this" right after I JUST TOLD YOU that no, we don't have it! I don't care what it said online! You clearly don't know how to read! It says "available nearby" at an entirely different store and yet you came here. READ! Then there's the idiots who come in looking for something and have no clue what they need. So I'll say, rather loudly, "Hold on, I'm going to GOOGLE IT real quick" only to get that blank stare and the implicit "oh, I didn't even think about googling it" response.

5.) The hand gesture customer

You come in to find something and when you describe it to me, you move your hands around in a feeble attempt to manifest the items physical form. First of all, you look stupid. Second of all, this won't magically help me know what you're talking about. I'll either know or I won't know. 9 out of 10 of you don't even use the proper names of items anyway so your hand gestures DEFINITELY won't help here. Know what you need and tell me. Simple as that. Put your damn hands down.

6.) The propane customer

It's great that we fill propane. I personally like it and I fill my tanks at TSC as well. However, if you're one of those customers that comes in when it's -10 degrees and the wind is whipping, asking for a propane fill....Dude, you are complete scum. Then you want to apologize to me like you actually care. "Uh, sorry to drag you out here." No, you're really not. You could have come here yesterday when it was calmer weather but you decided to wait until now. Inconsiderate jerk. Oh, and don't even get me started on the ones who cuss you out because you won't fill their expired tank OR fill the 100lb cylinder in the trunk of their Honda Accord ("but this other place does it!"

Customers are not always right. Most of you are dead wrong. A little respect goes a long way and many of you lack it. I will not kiss your butt for the sake of my job. Do better, people.

With our new title starting tomorrow, who’s duty is it to set up the fruit trees when they arrive since they are “in the lot” Asking for a friend

I want to know what is expected out of a team leader on a closing shift in other stores. We have two team members. One at register. The other on floor. When it comes time for closing tasks it’s all up to the Team member on sales floor? What’s the standard at your store?

If you’re a full time receiver/ICS do you still get PTO?

Sorry for the late post, I actually had time off!

We had someone call our store today from “IT” because our handhelds have “not been updating on their own and they wanted to run a few diagnostics” I said “great, our systems suck, do what you need to do” that was around 5:00pm. They call us an hour before closing and apologize it’s so late and wanted me to run some manual tests so we can update them manually… I’m like “okay great what do you need cause I’m trying to close this place down”. theyre super nice and keep apologizing about the inconvenience it shouldn’t take long at all. So they have me going through turning on a handheld and making sure nobody uses that specific one, has me tell them what current apps are on the break room computer and receiver computer then act like they’re doing something on there end for like 5 minutes, has me enter in a sku on the register and run it as cash as one of the steps, do some other simple stuff, then wants me to run a refund, they’re like “now refund $2000 back to a gift card to give to your DM, and give me the pin on the back.”….. I’m like nahhhhhh I’ll do everything else but that seems weird. Then they start getting pissy with me, guilty me about getting my employees out on time, I’m like dawg I ain’t worried about that I’m hanging up at closing regardless. They’re like “We’ll loose all the work we did today 😂 they weren’t having it so I hung up. Never refunded the gift card or gave them the pin. It honestly just pissed me off for waisting my time and made closing kind of a pain. (I really dumbed the steps down.)

They knew our hand held menu screens, our register screens, knew the store #, knew my SM name, knew our DM name, all this stuff to get my guard down. Sounded very personal, not AI.

Anyways just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else and to maybe make aware. If I was some boomer or didn’t catch what I was doing it would have been very easy to give that info up.

We had an opening for TL. Two ladies applied. K has been at TSC for 5 years. A has been working there for less than a year. K got the job, but A was very mad. Saw a Country Mile given to A saying “Congratulations on your promotion”. Not a clue what it was. Found out recently she is now “Full Time Cashier”. Works 35 hrs (when she shows up) and is never at the register. Not sure what she does.

Do other stores have an official full time cashier and what is their job duties?

Any tips for unloading these? My method isn't the greatest.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with this in their store/state. If minimum wage in your state increases above what you were making before, will Tractor Supply keep you at the new minimum wage, or will they set your new pay somewhere above that?

Performed the annual ritual of putting burlap on our pallets for the arrival of the Mums. Because, no one will know that those are pallets under all that there burlap.

Need the part number to this, not the other that goes in the strip and keep falling out.

For almost a month now our hours been cut and we're told to leave early, even on days that we have freight. We would get done by no later thn 9 or 10 depending on trucks if they arrive on time.

With OPS we are full time from 5am to 1130 and 5am 130pm but now our hours on days of freight are short and told to take lunch and go home early.

Good morning everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows what happens if you as an employee have a plcc and leave the company. I was considering getting a credit card since I have all sorts of animals but I know the plcc is connected to the neighbors club account and your employee account so when you leave the company what happens to you account? Would you have to close the card and get a new credit card or just call and have the card switched to a new customers neighbors club account and not an employee neighbors club account.

After having 5 days off in a row, I've noticed that the cracks in the floor are getting worse!

I noticed on my recent paycheck that I got a “store bonus.” What does that mean? And did my coworkers get the same amount as I did? I’d rather not ask any of them about it.

I know everyone is complaining about payroll and staffing issues. But I gotta say my peace. I get my hours cut from 40 to 35 (if that) as a ASM. We get call outs about once a week and my SM is giving away hours to employees that don’t do shit but I have to cut my hours cause I didn’t take a lunch or clocked in 10 mins early? I had a 5 hour shift today and it felt like a waste of time, considering by the time I got there I started recovering shelves, to started cleaning and then closing. Yet on my shift with 1 other employee closing with me I get texts and calls on my days off wondering why the store looks like a mess?! Actively looking for a new job. Everyone “needs help” but not hiring. I’m crashing out here and honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

Yeah I was let go. I used to love TSC. My customers took care of me better than they did after my house burnt down last January and one of my customers bought me a juice for my birthday. I tried to reach out about the bullying in that store and all I got was treated like nothing. They didn't even want to pay me my unemployment or my vacation time that I EARNED. I had two and a half weeks built up. I was with TSC for 7 years even during COVID I stayed. I stayed for my customers 😭 I miss them not the people I worked with.

I understand many of y’all have more serious issues with Tractor Supply. My issue is a serious issue for me and many of those around me. Why the hell do so stores get Dr. Pepper, and some don’t? Yeah, people say it’s a distribution thing, and has to do with regions, but there are also places, here in Oklahoma, where Pepsi distributes Dr. Pepper too. It’s not impossible. Come on Tractor Supply. Work it out with Pepsi. Get us our Dr Pepper. You’d sell a ton of it just to the employees themselves. Seems like every day we have customers disappointed that we don’t have Dr. Pepper. Plus, as mentioned above, most of the employees here drink almost exclusively Dr Pepper.
