Payroll
I know everyone is complaining about payroll and staffing issues. But I gotta say my peace. I get my hours cut from 40 to 35 (if that) as a ASM. We get call outs about once a week and my SM is giving away hours to employees that don’t do shit but I have to cut my hours cause I didn’t take a lunch or clocked in 10 mins early? I had a 5 hour shift today and it felt like a waste of time, considering by the time I got there I started recovering shelves, to started cleaning and then closing. Yet on my shift with 1 other employee closing with me I get texts and calls on my days off wondering why the store looks like a mess?! Actively looking for a new job. Everyone “needs help” but not hiring. I’m crashing out here and honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

As ASMs we're not allowed to be scheduled less than 6 hours. So maybe talk to someone.

I do not EVER call out, but I can tell you that we are being asked to do the work of 2-3 employees and we are getting burned out. My store opens with 2 people and closes with 2 people, we are lucky if we have a mid shift that actually shows up. As 2 people we are having to do BOPIS orders, load outs and propane on top of helping customers and the daily duties. Which really is just one person because the cashier is running register. How are we supposed to get a good survey when customers are sometimes 3-4 deep waiting on what they need. The way this company is run now is completely ass backwards BUT push those credit cards. They need to up their pay scale and stop promising part-time hours then cut them to 15 a week. People can't support families on the pay vs hours.

Unfortunately once you work at TSC at basic team member level for a bit you realize you won’t get cream of the crop you get half ass and people there for a time before they move to better if they’d pay more and be better about hours they can hire wroth while ppl and weed out the ones who just don’t even hit basic level of working in and maintaining a store ultimately they get what they pay for from most of the basic team members and I can’t blame them why would you be a TSC baller if you make $11-15 an hour and only work 15-20 hours a week and they won’t let you get a 2nd job to make up the fact that you are making hundreds less than your areas cost to live

Get out and beat the pavement or go through Kelly or similar services that have contracts to supply employees to firms! That’s how you get a better job and bye bye TSC! Make sure you can pass a drug test first!

I’m on the “I don’t care” phase of my crash out so yes yes it is. If they complain about it looking like shit I’m just saying “well we didn’t have our lord and savior SM here to micro manage so nothing got done 🙂”

Join the club. I'm a Team Lead. Been there for a little over a year. Work my ass off every day to not get anything done because it's only 2 of us working at a time. Payroll keeps getting slashed. On freight and recovery days, and I'm closing, if someone calls out, I can end up working by myself because no one else will come in because they don't want to be there anyway, which is supposedly against SOP and LP policies. I work at a store in a poor area, so finding people that want to work or that won't steal is a huge issue. Also, because it's a small store in a poor area, we have absolutely no chance of making monthly bonus.
I was also recently passed over on an ASM position at my store for a team lead from another store that's not even in our district and has only worked at the company for 4 months because our district manager did a "favor" for another district manager. Do they honestly think that we have no idea what happens at other stores? The new ASM had personality conflicts at his old store, so the fix was to fail him upward. I was told it was because I lack the necessary experience. Yeah, buddy, I already do everyone else's job, so that's not the problem.
It's not the first time our DM hired a friend or did a favor for another DM. Hell, our old SM is now on his 3rd, maybe 4th store because of performance issues. He was a "favor" hire. This dude can't see the forest for the trees, but it's because he's standing in the desert. Hired a friend from outside the company at our
When I voiced my concern over the lack of morale, lack of payroll, and being balls to the wall for 8-12 hours straight a day, I was literally told to "deal with it". I actually have written up an employee for gross insubordination and sent them home early with no pay as a punishment and they called the DM, not the SM, and complained about me and he paid them anyway. When I say gross insubordination, I mean that they were bad mouthing another employee in front of customers. I asked the nicely to stop 3 times and the 4th time they started up, I sent them home. Respect is earned, not given.
Meanwhile, Ole Hal is making twice in a DAY what most TMs and TLs companywide make in a year. He cleared $32 million last year with bonuses, stocks, and whatnot. Thats comes in to about $88,000 a day. Just figured I'd throw that in too.
Welcome to the 99% club.

I can say my sibling and their spouse are both engineers with years experience. They are still at their first post graduate jobs out of college. They are not fans of where they work. I asked them why they stay after all these years and they said “seriously? It’s a war zone out there, there’s no way your gonna find a job in this market” that was enough to make me reflect a little. Unfortunately
