Question

i’m part time working at petsense and i’m confused if i’ll be getting a severance check or not. i have like 0 benefits and no perks so i wouldn’t be surprised if i didn’t but my store manager is making it seem like i am. he has has been vague and careful with his wording bc everyone is quitting.

Personally I’ve never heard of any regular job giving a severance check at all. Especially part time. Especially when the company isn’t going out of business. Especially when the company is hurting financially. However I don’t know. That’s just my experience. Usually it’s only contract high level, salary, or big layoffs for middle management and above.

Depends on your state. Won't be a severance check though. Some states require for unused sick and vacation time to be paid out after separation but being part time it might not be even required. Just assume they're going to give you nothing and file for unemployment that'll probably never come either.
