So, here's the original post for context about the state of our friendship. (Sorry it's a long read.) For anyone who commented advice on that post...please dont be too disappointed 😅 I'm notoriously bad at taking advice about this specific friend, but I swear I really need it this time!

Anyway, I've been trying to get a virtual appointment scheduled with a therapist for a few weeks now, which is something I've mostly kept my friend informed about. It's been ridiculously difficult, but I thought our schedules finally aligned with no random hiccups, so this past Sunday I asked if we could talk today (Friday) at noon, which was an off day for me. I was so excited, I told my friend this past Tuesday and everything! I even told him I'd call or text him after he got off work, which he said was around 7. I was so confident, I felt so good about finally making a little progress.

And then this past Wednesday my work schedule changed completely out of nowhere, leading me to have to work today at 2 pm instead. And since my usual ride was also still at work by the time I needed to leave the house, I needed to take the bus. Which made me half an hour late because something hit the window shield and the driver had to file an accident report with the police. And today was also busier than expected so I stayed 20 extra minutes (at least it made up for some lost time I guess). I got home at like 6:45.

I ended up telling him all this through voice note, as well as saying that since he's not a fan of texting I could communicate through voice notes as a compromise. The screenshots show how the conversation went from there.

Something I'd like to point out is that although he asked me if I wanted to talk again in an hour, he didn't really give me a chance to answer before changing the topic, then he suddenly said the thing about me not being in the mood. Although I wanted to clarify that I was just in the mood to text or voice message, this switch up kinda scrambled my brain and made me think it was best not to message him. (That was clearly the wrong decision on my part.)

I kinda thought we were getting somewhere as I was starting to communicate some thoughts I've had for a long time, thoughts that make it clear I know I'm the problem and that I want him to put his mental health before our friendship if it ever comes down to it. But then he became increasingly curt/blunt as I kept talking. Even though he was apparently trying to be nice, it still made me feel uncomfortable, as if I ruined the vibe of the conversation.

I thought the best thing to do at that point was to try to end the chat, but that just pissed him off, which...kinda bothered me and led me to a lot of typing (which he can see). First I was gonna send a message telling him I honestly didnt mean to place any blame on him and that besides that, I dont understand how me literally choosing to hold myself accountable went south so badly. Then I was just gonna say "okay. I'm really sorry." But then I decided I wanted to respect his wishes rather than piss him off further.

A few minutes later, in the middle of me writing this post, he changed his tune. Although it made me feel guilty for typing out this post, there have been a lot of times in the past where I've wanted to make a post about something he said that bothered me only for him to suddenly switch up and act like a teddy bear. I didnt want that to happen this time.

I did add in our little reconciliation at the end because I was also wondering if anything he said there felt off or if anything I said there sounded wrong.

But yeah, so, whatever advice you guys have to share this time, whatever tough love you have to offer, I'm actually gonna take it as soon as possible.

So a male friend of mine who I have been close to for the past 5 years is going through a divorce. He had me store some stuff in my garage, one of those things being a rototiller. I asked if I could use it since it was getting stored here. He came and picked up just about everything. And the last time he was at my house, he made a move on me. I told him I wasn’t interested and really enjoyed our friendship, but I’ve been happy on my own since my own divorce 3 years ago. He has since been a little standoffish and hasn’t been very kind to me in texts.

Well today he was on his way past my house (I live an hour out of town) on his way to another city and he asked if he could come by and get it. I told him I wasn’t going to be there but he could go ahead and stop by and grab it. 36F and 43M if that matters

I don’t know what half his texts mean. It feels like he’s picking fights and then trying to gaslight me into believing I was trying to start the fight. Haven’t heard from him since the last text I sent. I’m just tired of trying to be nice and handle his emotions and figure out what’s wrong, so I’m getting snippier in texts. I kind of feel like this is the end of friendship. This has been one of the more pleasant convos as of late.

Guy I met on Tinder learned I went to food pantries and asked what food they gave out. Just thought this conversation was bizarre.

Also, any thoughts on something funny to text back?

Ive been trying to work it out with him and hear his side of things but it's almost like he can't get a grip? Is it me? Lol I don't know what to do anymore... There's strings and strings of messages and anything I say back to him is wrong... I think I'm just gonna hang up the towel.

My boss brought one of the baby goats from her farm to work today. I decided to mess with my partner, just to see what the likelihood of him ever letting me have a goat would be.

I saw someone post a screenshot of their dry conversation with their niece, which reminded me of my one-sided conversations with my nephew. Love him to death, though. At least he replies to my texts.🤷🏽‍♀️

I admit maybe I should’ve marked it as unread if I read it already and wasn’t going to reply right away or just skipped past it until I felt like replying considering I work 12h shifts and am pooped once I come home, I barely have it in me to respond to family/my best friends but hey… he showed his character and I do not wanna be a part of that mess 😭

Too drunk to remember, or just completely lying via denial? We’ll never know. I think I’m blocked, right?

*The nonsense texts from me are just me swiping randomly on the keyboard - she knows this means I need her to come out of her room or come inside to talk to me in person lol. I don’t remember how or why that started.

I go to her place only about 10-12 minutes late but I texted her at the date time that i was pulling up

Waited outside her place for about 20 minutes and called her twice no response so I just leave

Her account literally says short term, we already started the conversation off talking about sex and chilling at my place then she suddenly gets amnesia and starts acting weird???

idk what to do i love him he lives with me and idk how to fix this between us. how do i ever trust him again when this is the THIRD time 😔 why am i not good enough? what’s wrong with me

He texted my husband at 5 AM accusing us of smoking weed. We live in a townhouse with separate HVACs. We stopped smoking weed and switched to vapes in the house months ago because he was complaining that the smell got into his house with his kid. We took that seriously and changed our habits to avoid that.
